Not only is AARP a joke, they also shun the same people they supposedly represent. Try calling an AARP office sometime and ask the agent of the person on the other end. It will NOT be someone that is over 45!! What really stinks about this is that there are thousands of baby boomers who are not yet at retirement age and yet have found themselves without jobs. They are the largest group of unemployed who has the least chance of getting hired due to their age not their ability or experience. I am a baby boomer and when I put this question about the age of the AARP employees to my local AARP I did not get a good answer since the person on the other end admitted to being in her 30′s and the director refused my call. So the very group that is so willing to take your money and represent you is the last place you can plan on getting a job. Talk about a slap in the face. Shame on AARP, you lying cheats!!!!

AARP is a good organization. Their insurance is very good, my father had cancer and between medicare and his AARP insurance he had zero out of pocket expense, when Mom retired she would not consider any otherinsurance because AARP paid so good.

AARP is a joke. They constantly send letters to my mother asking for money for this and that. If you look at their travel discounts, they are not very good. If you check the Insurances they offer, you realize they tack on a profit and you could get the same coverage cheaper elsewhere. To me, they just about making money for themselves.
