It’s interesting how we measure our own or other people’s achievements. We use bank balances, property size, lifestyle, power and evidences of abundance as a measure of success or failure, but we don’t really understand the difference between them.

Success and failure are not measures of have or have not, they cannot be judged by the size or the amount of our possessions, they are not destinations that we can look at and pass judgement on.

What Michael Beckwith said in the film The Secret, sums up One Step in Applying the Law of Attraction, better than any I have heard.

“You can begin, right now, to feel healthy.

You can begin to feel prosperous.

You can begin to feel the love that’s surrounding you, even if it’s not there.

And what will happen is, the Universe will correspond to the nature of your song.

The Universe will correspond to the nature of that Inner Feeling, and Manifest.

Because that’s the way you feel.”

I will try to sum up this Step in One Word…….. Joy.

Joy is the purpose of your journey.

Joy is the secret to everything you desire.

And when you learn to follow your Joy, in everything you do, your life will be everything you desire.

Success is an illusion. Take Michael Jackson for example. Many would consider him a success, a super star, a MEGA star. Michael Jackson was supposedly successful. Known all over the world, famous, weird yet loved by many.

Tried as a molester by the courts and found innocent, tried by the media and found guilty. All the good and notoriety that had become the name was now gone.

Once a multi-millionaire, he died owing more than $500,000,000.

Those who don’t know him say, “There is no way this could happen to him” and those who do know him say “There’s no way this could not happen to him”

The problem seems to arise when other people assess you according to their standards and you buy into them. Noticing others efforts to apply their definitions of success to you and not altering your own stance is one of the strongest things I can do. Thanks for the article.

Good article! As you correctly put it, happiness is truly what we all want. Everything we do, we do because we think it will make us feel happier. I agree that it is easy to listen to other people’s ideas of success, but much better to listen to our own inner guidance.

Excellent report!
I think true success is doing the best out of nothing. And if one needs so much, that means that we are thinking from a poverty mindset. I think one is rich and wealthy when one does not need anything.
This attraction business is so focusing on poverty of spirit. It has nothing to do with material things at all, it has to do with the mind set. Real success has to do with resourcefulness, creativity, ingenuity; and the material accrues as a result of applying all this virtues that one MUST cultivate. So success is the ability to cultivate virtuosity of spirit! So I feel.
