Tools For Detoxification Part 3 By Nadine, N.D., C.N.S

Welcome to the third and final portion of the Tools for Detoxification series.   Before I continue, let me say congratulations to each of you who have read this material, and a Hello to those of you who have explored the concepts within  parts 1 and 2.

Hello is such a powerful word.  When we say hello, we acknowledge that something is there.  We give Attention to IT so that we can then use our Intention to shift IT.  (this is big!!!!!!)

IT can be physical (my big toe hurts), mental (looping thoughts), emotional (sad, angry, depressed, erratic behavior, etc) or spiritual (stuck energy).  We have explored various techniques in sending a hello to the skin, lungs, lymph, liver, bowel and kidneys.  Today we will delve into sending that hello to our thoughts and emotions.  It is my personal belief that all outer symptoms (skin eruptions, constipation, dis-ease, etc) begin with inner turmoil, or emotional/mental stress.  By cleansing the emotional and mental bodies of accumulated toxic waste, we allow healing to bloom from our core, through our organs, tissues, etc, all the way out to our skin.  Basically, healing from the inside out.

According to Hering’s Law of Cure:

Law I ~ healing progresses from the deepest part of the organism (mental, emotional levels and vital organs) to the external parts. [inside out]

Law II ~ symptoms appear and disappear in the reverse of their original chronological order of appearance [last will be first, first will be last]

Law III ~ healing progresses from the upper to the lower parts of the body [top to bottom]

Toxic or negative mental thoughts tend to create a loop.  The more we focus  on negative chatter, we give power to it and create more of the same.  Examples of negative chatter can include statements such as “I am worthless”; I’ll never get it right”; “I’m afraid!”; “Who would want me?”; “No one loves me”; “I can’t do that”; “I’ll never get it right”; “I’m so stupid”; etc, etc.  Negative thoughts are crippling.  They are dis-empowering.  And riding on and within those waves of mental trash come the flood of destructive emotions that eat away at our self-esteem.  Emotions like despair, anger, hatred, sadness, self-loathing, distrust and invalidation.  Clearly toxic emotions breed imbalance  and fester dis-ease.

Let Go

We already know that cleansing or detoxifying is the process of letting go of what we are not. Before we can let go of something, we have to acknowledge its presence (say hello).  Once we have acknowledge it, we can then choose to hold on to it, or we can choose to release it.  Here are a few processes you can explore, which allow you to say hello on an emotional and mental level, then provide a release on a physical level.

Wear It ~ This is a one hundred percent effort activity where you dress, walk and talk the emotion you are wallowing in.  As an example, let’s say you are exploring being a victim.  Exactly what does that look like?  What outfit best demonstrates your being a victim?  Does it have a specific color?  A specific kind of material?  Are there sunglasses to hide behind or a thick coat?  What does the walk look like?  What type of eye-contact do you have?  What do you sound like (whining , mumbling, silent)?  Put 100% of your attention into this outfit.  Now go out and walk around in life being this emotion. Be around people.  Give it 100%, of your time, your energy, your effort.  Don’t stop until you are truly sick and tired of being around yourself.  You will know when you are complete.  When you are ready to be done, all you have to do is take off the clothes.  (go home first, I wouldn’t want you to get into trouble by stripping down in public).  As you redress, be aware of any and all shifts in colors or fabric you are choosing.  Be aware of the new light-hearted you.

Egg Throw ~ This event has three parts and is great for the out-doors.  Part 1: get 1-3 containers of raw eggs and a sharpie pen.  Print the emotion, person, or situation you are releasing on the egg.  Put one word on each egg.  As an example, if I am wanting to release invalidation, my eggs will have the names of each person who I feel has invalidated me in some way, or the event that occurred when I felt invalidated.  If one name has quite a bit of intensity for you, load their name on more than one egg.  The point here is to say hello to the person(s) and to the emotions.

Part 2: time to find a private place to throw your eggs.  You are also looking for a nice hard vertical surface.  Rocks work really well for this activity.  My favorite is to go for a long hike and find a quite, secluded area with rocks so that I can give this egg throw my full attention.  This part of the activity requires a full body commitment including vocals.  Pick up an egg.  Read the word on the egg.  Now scream out that word as you throw the egg with everything you’ve got against the rocks.  Remember… give it everything you’ve got.  Repeat the process until all of your eggs are gone.  If you feel like crying… do it.  If you feel like dancing… do it.  Do what comes naturally to you after the release.  Once all the gunk is cleared out, there is room for you to explore new things.

Part 3 is all about you and what you want to explore and create for yourself.  Contemplate all the new emotions you can now have as you hike back to your car/home.  Now you can have more joy, peace, calm, and happiness.

Saying Hello to Body Parts ~ This activity can be done anywhere, anytime.  Let’s say you discover you are filled with thoughts of self-doubt.  The more you focus on the destructive self-talk, the more you are aware of anxiety, panic and fear coursing through your body.  Breathe In.  We are now going to send out a series of hellos, allowing the vibration of the word to ripple away from your body.  Begin by saying hello to the doubts (we are simply acknowledging they are there, we are not ‘going to them’).  You might find you need to say hello a few times to the head noise.  As an example:  “hello mind chatter”, “hello self-doubt,  I see you. Oh and by the way you are fired.”


Now say hello to anxiety.  Say hello to panic.  Say hello to fear.  Next ask your body, “where am I holding onto fear?”  Maybe your hands are gripped tightly by the fear, if so, send a hello directly to your hands.  If your stomach is tight, send a hello to your digestive tract.  Repeat this process of sending a hello directly to each and every part of your body that is holding onto one of those emotions.  Allow the physical body to release.  This process can take between 15-30 mins.

When you feel relaxed and complete, give thanks to your body for releasing all that you are not.  Now let’s fill in with the energy of something positive.  Decide what you would like more of…  say more laughter, more fun, more silliness.  Visualize a large ball (like a fit ball) and fill it up with laughter, joy, fun etc.  Place or visualize the ball at the top of your head (crown chakra).  Imagine popping the ball, allowing all that laughter energy to flood into every cell of your body from the crown of your head, flowing all the way out your feet.  Repeat as many times as you desire.  Flood your body/being with wonderful uplifting energy.

Write about it/Burn it ~ This is a very powerful, three part activity.  The first part is all about saying hello in written form.  Get out some paper and write an uncensored Dear John letter about the event or situation that is bugging you.  Say everything in the letter you have not been able to say in person.  This is about letting go.  So use caps, bold, underlines.  Shout it out, scream it out on paper.  The point is to get it out in a totally uncensored manner.  Spelling is immaterial.  Making sense is immaterial.  When you feel complete, put the letter down and walk away for an hour or a day.

Round two:  read your letter quietly to yourself. See if you missed anything.  If you have, then keep writing.  Write until you are empty.  Write until you know there is nothing left to say.  Put the letter down and walk away again.

Round three:  taking back your power.  If you desire, ask someone to be a witness.  Their only job is to sit quietly and validate your process.  If you want to do this alone, that is your right.  Your job now is to Read the letter OUT LOUD! By reading this garbage out-loud you are acknowledging the process, saying hello, and reclaiming your personal power.  After you have read the letter out loud it is time to release all that crap.  BURN the letter!

Color Drain & Fill ~ This is a very fast method for releasing energy that does not serve.  I use this one all the time with my clients whether we are in the gym training, my office, or sitting in a public venue.  Pick a color to represent the emotion you are wanting to release. Let’s say you are dealing with the grief of losing a pet.  For demonstration purposes, you have selected a color combination of rust/green to represent all the grief and sorrow you are feeling.  Next, choose one emotion that you would rather experience (example, you want to feel nurtured).  Pick a color to represent the feeling of being nurtured (say peach).

Ground your body so that as we do this releasing process we allow all that is not you (grief, sorrow) to be used as fertilizer for the earth mother.  Breathe out  rust/green.  Breathe in peach.  Breathe out grief/sorrow.  Breathe in peach, the feeling of being nurtured.  Breathe out rust/green… Breathe in calm, peach, nurture, peach.  Keep this process going.  There will come a point when all the rust/green is gone and all you are breathing in is peach.  All you are breathing out is peach.  Your entire body, your entire being is submerged in self-nurturing peach.  Way to Go!
