Like most illnesses, even colds and flus have a metaphysical root, and understanding that can help you prevent these viruses from taking hold in your body. There are also beliefs that cause some of to be more susceptible to viruses than others, and there is a reason that we are physically susceptible. If you don’t want to get a cold or flu this year, here are three things to consider.
Have you ever heard yourself say or even think something like, “I catch a cold or flu at least once a year”. Maybe you even make sure you reserve enough sick days at work for your annual bout with a virus. Then like clockwork, you get sick.
If this has happened for most of your life, it is easy to assume it will, of course, happen again. But history can change with some conscious attention to what you are creating.
Krystalya Marie’ tells a story about attending a convention and hugging everyone she met. Periodically someone would warn her that they had a cold, and she would respond by saying, “Don’t worry. I never get sick”. That year she came down with her first cold in years.
She used the experience to understand more about the power of the mind. As she reflects on her experience, she believes that she was repeating, and ultimately affirming, the word “sick” so many times that her body believed her. As most of us know, saying “never” is dangerous because the subconscious mind doesn’t seem to understand that word. The moment you use it, whatever you are hoping to avoid often becomes a part of your reality.
She learned to shift her affirmation to “I remain healthy all year long.” Since she began using this affirmation, she has been able to remain well, even when exposed to the most tenacious viruses.
In an interesting contrast to this, Misa’s sister, who has never studied the power of affirmation, spent one winter repeating to herself, “I don’t have time to get sick, so I’m just going to have to stay well.” Her conviction was so deep and so strong, she did not catch a cold or flu that entire winter.
Beliefs play a role in whether you are going to be affected by a cold or flu virus. The depth of your conviction and the clarity with which you affirm the reality you choose to create make a difference. In addition to your mental clarity, your emotional and spiritual clarity also influence your susceptibility to colds and flu viruses.
In deep meditation, asking about the metaphysical roots behind contracting colds and flus, here is what Misa discovered. Viruses grab hold when we abandon the self. When you are abandoning yourself emotionally and spiritually, you also end up abandoning your physical body and put yourself at risk.
Viruses are able to gain entry when you are depleting yourself through stress, poor diet, and not enough oxygenation of your cells. You could think of it as creating an internal environment better suited to the viruses than to your health. We check-out, so-to-speak, by not attending to ourselves, and the viruses check-in.
So what causes us to abandon ourselves? Consider that abandonment occurs when you feel defeated in some way or are pushing yourself because you don’t feel worthy. You’ve abandoned your ability to create a balanced, happy life, because somewhere deep inside, you don’t believe that is possible or that you deserve it.
You might be in a situation where you tell yourself you can push yourself this hard and it will be okay. You’ll make up for it later. But when a virus takes hold, there is no making up for it later.
If you want to heal, and more importantly if you want to remain virus-free, you need to find compassion for yourself. Compassion allows you to be present to the root of your feelings of abandonment—the old wounds that created this feeling of abandonment in the first place, so that unworthiness can finally be put to rest and worthiness will have a place to take hold.
It takes tremendous presence of self-awareness and self-love to feel safe in the presence of viruses, and you are going to need to feel worthy of self-love in order to change your beliefs and make healthier choices for yourself.
You are going to need to love yourself enough to let go of some of the old habits that create too much stress for you and replace them with more loving choices that truly work for you.
As you nurture the love you deserve for yourself, you might prioritize getting enough rest, enjoying yourself more, eating healthier and taking the supplements or using the energy medicines that you know help you remain strong and healthy. You might incorporate some new affirmations and some new habits.
The Body Needs to Be Taught How to Deal With Viruses
With most conditions and ailments a healer is able to strengthen the body’s natural ability to repair and heal. However, the body has no natural defenses when it comes to cold and flu viruses. That’s right. The body does not know what to do when a virus enters the body.
As strains of viruses get stronger and stronger, they grab hold of us more easily. According to Dr. Valerie Olmsted, NMD, by the time a vaccination comes out, a virus has mutated to the point that a vaccination is not likely to be effective any more.
However, we can teach the body and the immune system how to properly identify viruses and release them from the body. If you work with energy medicine, you might consider taking the conviction of your beliefs right into working to direct and train your genetic make-up to recognize and create defenses to stop the viruses from taking hold within your body.
By training the DNA to respond to viruses, any virus can be addressed as the immune system is taught how to function properly and optimally for the viruses it encounters. Then whatever the strength of any given virus, it will be responded to and removed because that concept is now encoded within you.
The good news for all of us is that we have the ability to do this. We hold the key to preventing colds, flu, or any virally-based illness—we just need to take our healing energy right into the DNA.
Learning how to avoid cold and flu viruses provides a wonderful opportunity to heal old pain around abandonment, discover what you really believe, and commit to what you really want to create—even at the DNA level—and that can include a life free from cold and flu viruses.
