Ken Wilber: Increased Consciousness Decreased Suffering

(click on title for larger screen)

Suffering can be thought of as pain plus avoidance of what is. If one eliminates avoidance – pain is still there but without the suffering.

As one expands ones consciousness from ego-centered to ethno-centered to world-centered it becomes more and more apparent that at our core we are all one and in this space there is experiencing without the resistance to whatever it is we are experiencing in the moment.

And it is here where suffering ends.

I do not know much about Ken Wilber and his teachings – do you? Would love to learn of your experiences with his work – as well as any suggestions for further study.

If you watch Kin Wilber, as a recovering addict, I have to wonder if this man is using crack or heroin. the way he keeps wiping his nose and the sun glasses. I’m not saying he is , But I am suspect.

No Ken Wilber is not addicted to drugs, only to himself (I mean his small personal ego self).

  3. Theron Messer, M.Litt. says:

Ken Wilber is not ego-centric. If you read Boomeritis you will see this. His suffering with the death of his wife to cancer in my opinion ended any ego-centricity. He is brilliant and his I.Q. tends to cause some to judge his spirit. I have read almost everything he has published and his work has informed my spiritual growth and rising consciousness. Many spiritual giants are right-brained and creative, emotional types. Ken is not. He is very left-brained and rational. Do not confuse his rational presentation with ego-centricity. When he offends me I always have to ask why.

Maybe.. The nose thing; and the eyegless adjustments… Are just personal triggers, that he’s installed on the level of the unconscious mind. Maybe these “triggers” allow him to maintain a deep state of mind so that he may express from his inner wisdom, without interference from the “voice in the head.” (the small mind) That’s just a possibility… He has tapped into “Big Mind.” There’s no denying that!
