Quantum Physics and Our Brilliant Brains by Katie Garnett, Ph.D

Did you know that the human brain made an enormous leap in its overall mass and the amount of complexity, in a very short amount of time, in fact it made a quantum leap about 300,000 years ago. How this amazing leap happened has no complete explanation at this point, the human brain simply expanded in the most universal sense.

Sometime during the last million years of the Pleistocene era, in a relatively brief period of transition, there was a transformation from archaic to modern humans. The transformation was not just in biology – changes in our physical shape and reorganization in the brain – but changes in our culture as well. The transformation included a shift from simple stonework, to more complex, formal and elegant tool making. This transition also opened the way even more creative and artistic expansion. Language developed and the sense of symbolism was a recognizable behavior.

Had the brain developed as a simple smooth casing along with its mass, our species may have died out from its own complexity. The brain would have needed a casing so large, that the human female would not have been able to give birth. Females would have had to been shaped like Jabba the Hut (reference Star Wars).

The only way the great mass of the human brain became possible, was the brilliant creation of the brain folds. The development of the folds to hold the complexity and mass of the brain and enable it to occupy a much smaller space, made possible human development as we have experienced it.

It is sort of survival of the most elaborate. This would strongly suggest, but not prove, some kind of divine design. Human brain-folds are a great, clever idea that sent creation down a very interesting path, perhaps down the rabbit hole itself. Science suggests that you use less than 20% of your brain capacity. So, what in the world are you thinking, or more importantly, not thinking? What have you been missing that now that you are opening yourself to the theta, delta and gamma brain waves, you may discover? You may be finally allowing yourself to open to information that has been available to you, but that you have not been able to access from the level of the beta brainwave state.

What is possibly out there for you? Well, as there is no out-there actually, it is back to those folds and what in the world processes around, through, and inside them. Even though you came in with specific behavioral patterns, certain sets of beliefs, and certain physical characteristics such as eye color; much of what you think you know and believe, is epigenetic. Much of what you think you know is information stored in frozen memory packets that you brought in ancestrally and took into your experience from conception to about age 6. During those stages you are completely without filters, without the capacity to sort, analyze and understand at the conscious level, what anything means for you personally. You aren’t able to discriminate between what you really think about things and what you are told you should think about things, either directly or by implication.

The good news is that epigenetically, you have the capacity to eliminate the old beliefs and patterns that no longer serve and represent you, and create new programs and a new normal for yourself.

So how do you use those amazing cortical folds? All that storage space, all that space for activity, all that space for analysis and understanding? You can sort it out in the neo-cortex, or the newer portion of our cerebral cortex that serves as the center of your higher mental functions. The neo-cortex contains some 100 billion cells, each with 1,000 to 10,000 synapses, and has roughly 100 million meters of wiring, all packed into a structure the size and thickness of an iPod.

What you believe you think consciously…is not all that you think. Your emotional responses come from the unconscious thoughts that are stored in your DNA as patterns and programs of thought and behavior that reach the surface of your conscious thinking only when you have a feeling. You name that feeling, which then pulls up other thoughts that support those emotions, which send more chemical messages down to the cells, which then send up more familiar and related thoughts, or creates new thoughts that match the existing ones.

Therefore, in the process of dealing with all those thoughts running around in your brain, the ones with an emotional charge in particular, are sent to your brain from your unconscious. They are then re-circulated and reinforced, generally without re-evaluation. The subconscious mind controls 95% of your behavior and your gene-regulating cognitive activity through programs obtained from your stored beliefs.

The genes themselves are controlled through epigenetics, or information coming from outside or above the genes, and the important news is that you can eliminate old programs without even knowing how it happens. You can deliberately erase them or you can replace them with new programs that you desire.

Thoughts are energy and as such are governed by quantum mechanics, exhibiting both wave and particle duality. Your feelings collapse into thoughts, which collapse into chemicals which collapse into codes, which pass through the membrane of the cell and form new DNA codes, and therefore patterns and beliefs.

All particles exist in a state of endless potentialities, and not until you state your intention in the theta brainwave or beyond, and focus only on what you want to see, do the particles of thought collapse into matter. You make choices every time you make a decision about what to allow into your life and those choices create your outcomes.

So look at your world from the viewpoint of psychology, look at what is running around in those 2.5 square feet of brain tissue with 100 billions neurons firing. Think about what you are thinking and then see what you have in your life, and if you want something different, start thinking about what you want instead, and create it.

If you stretched out the DNA from one strand, it would travel to the sun and back 10 times. And, at the same time, if your scrunched up all of the DNA on the planet, it would fit in a grain of rice. That is an amazing amount of information in a miniscule but highly efficient amount of space.

Epigenetic molecular mechanisms represent a physical pathway along which consciousness makes you Master of your fate and Captain of your soul. Your field of beliefs and perceptions, both individually and collectively, determine your biology and what you comprehend as your reality.

From the quantum physics standpoint, nothing can ever be separated in the unified field, so all that you wish for in your life is already available to you, including information, ideas, material things, and even happiness – which is a process, not an outcome.

Embrace your creations, which is your Self and your life, and let them embrace you back.

Blessings, Dr. Katie

  4. How have you reached the assumption that there are…”unconscious thoughts … stored in … DNA as patterns and programs that reach the surface of … conscious thinking only when you have a feeling” ???

  5. Hi Dr Jill – actually our programs are running our body-mind unconsciously all the time. And at the same time, there is also the factor that someone (for example) could have a genetic propensity for cancer – but that gene won’t be expressed unless something external to the gene happens – such as a stressful event with a stress response – at that point the cancer may be expressed in the body.

    Blessings, Katie

  6. tara says:

epigenetics linked to emotion driven biochemical reactions in the body may cause some genes to switch on or off.
