I meant to say, your book responds perfectly to people like me who, having read The Science of Getting Rich, Think and Grow Rich, Power of the Subconscious Mind, Abraham books, etc, wanted to find out more about the subconscious mind itself, in modern, every day, simple language. I love your book because it supports all of the aforementioned books, TSOGR being my all-time favourite. Wattles was big on expectation too and I think sometimes once we start practicing mind power deliberately get too caught up in the technique and forget that it’s all about the end result and how we feel and to keep conjuring that feeling up inside ourselves so that the universe can match up to it. Hi James. Thank you for taking the time to give a comprehensive response to my queries. You’ve reminded me of something critical – the universe follows the path of least resistance and “don’t tell God his job” Edgar Cayce. So I have gone way too specific and narrowed my field making the universe’s job challenging. I shall program for a money goal as that is the priority currently. I shall work hard at my business as usual. I shall absolutely expect the money to come through for me and if it’s through my business then fine, and if not then fine too. The money is the goal/priority. So thanks for framing my goal for me. I’ll now focus fully on that and visualise how I’ll feel, the difference it will make, etc and align to it to make the universe’s job that much easier. Thanks again. Veronica.

You write that if you put a request out there for the money itself it doesn’t feel as ‘real’ as if you ask for the money through your business. Many people share that type of thinking with you. They have some faith in mind power, or they wouldn’t be trying to use it in the first place, but they still may have more faith in outside conditions and circumstances (for instance your business could be viewed as an outside condition and your business dealings could be viewed as outside circumstances) than they have in the processes of attraction and manifestation. They still think their jobs or their businesses or the economy have more power than their minds. But mind power is the real power. External things come about due to internal processes of the mind. You say your believability is with placing a candidate with a client, but I believe you would be well served were you to develop the same level or even a greater level of believability in your own mind power and the power of your subconscious mind and the universe. I understand you want to have success in the line of business you are now in, and I believe that you can increase your chances of doing that by developing more faith in the causes of circumstances than you have in circumstances themselves. The inner causes (thought/emotion/mystical processes) of outer circumstances are what are real; outer circumstances are but mere effects of the inner processes which give rise to them and which form their foundation. Still, having said all that, I recommend you determine which way feels best to YOU in this particular situation and that you proceed accordingly.

Veronica (July 11, 2010 at 1:17 am): Hi Veronica. Thank you too. Well, yes, if you want to affirm (make it your goal) that the money will arrive through your business you can certainly do that. But that is very specific. So, you’ll be giving your subconscious mind and the universe the instructions to bring x amount of money by a certain date and in a very specific way. And perhaps you’ll get the money by that date and in that way. But, things are not always doable within our desired time limits. There are factors we can’t know of and can’t control. The way you want to do it, the chances of you being “surprised” and getting your money in some other way are very slim. Your subconscious mind and the universe will be working on bringing you your money in the exact way you have specified, and if that does not happen in the time you have specified, it’s more likely than not that you will not get your money in some other way in the time specified either since you will not have allowed for other ways. The way you are wanting to do it, your money must come to you in, basically, one way, though there could be a variety “ways” within that way, such as different candidates or clients or whatever. But, if you don’t place the restriction of how your money must come to you, then you open the door for your money to come to you in an infinite number of ways, or in any number of combinations of ways. As far as someone dying in order for you to get your money: If you use something like this following statement, or even just always have this sentiment in your heart, you will not have to worry about such matters: “This or something better for the highest best good of all concerned.” Generally speaking, though, if you are an inherently good person your higher self will help to moderate your circumstances in a way in which you will not receive your good at the unfair and/or unwarranted expense of others. Remember too that you have a business and that your subconscious mind and the universe always tend to work along the lines of least resistance and by ways and means already established and already in place, so it is fairly likely that your business would be at least one of the ways you would receive your money. But, yes, you can certainly do it the way you are suggesting. I, though, never do it that way and never advise doing it that way. The only time I would advise such a thing is if the actual GOAL was to receive money in A VERY SPECIFIC WAY. In other words, if the goal of receiving the money in a specific way was more important than just receiving the money, and the person would rather not have the money if they cannot receive it in the exact way they specify, then I would say that person should go about the task in the way you are suggesting. You say you want to be a successful businesswoman and expand your business. But does that mean you only want to receive money through your business? Does it mean you’d rather not receive a million-dollar windfall next week if that were possible? You say if you do it the way I suggest, that you will only wonder how the money will arrive. But if you did that you would not be doing it exactly the way I suggest, as I specifically instruct people NOT to think about or worry about or wonder about how their money will arrive. So, some food for thought there. The application of mind power is as much an art as it is a science. I suggest you consider your individual needs and priorities in each given instance, and then proceed according to how you think best in each instance. I cannot say which way will be best for you in this particular case; that is something you can, though, decide for yourself. Then commit yourself to that task and give it all you’ve got. Either way you can certainly put heart and soul and time and effort into your business in your efforts to get the money you want by when you want it, but the thing you need to decide now is whether or not you want to tell your subconscious mind and the universe that they must bring you your money in this one way and this one way only. One final but pivotal thought: Instead of combining your two goals (getting money and placing a candidate with a client) into one goal, you might consider having two separate goals. One goal could be to have a certain amount of money by a certain date with no restrictions on how the money is to come to you, and another goal could be to place one or more candidates by a certain date with no restrictions on how much money that/those deal(s) would need to be worth. Having the two separate goals, you would be more likely to get your money by the date you want it, as there would be no restrictions on how the money would have to come to you, and you would be more likely to place one or more candidates with (a) client(s) by a certain date as there would be no restrictions on how much that/those deal(s) would need to be worth. As I wrote above, mind power is as much an art as it is a science. So we should strive to be creative and “artistic” in our application of it. I find it helps if we loosen up and not try to control so much with our conscious minds. It is the job of our conscious minds to decide what we want and to relay that information to our subconscious minds and the universe. It is the job of our subconscious minds and the universe to show us (through intuition and inspiration and in other ways) how to take action to get what we want and to take actual and decisive action themselves (by governing people, circumstances, events and so on) to bring about what we want.

Hi James, when I say on the penultimate line above that “… I may be surprised”, is that I could ask for it in the way I see it most likely to arrive, but then if the Universe delivers it another way then that would be a surprise, but still obviously fine as I would have the amount of money I am asking/expecting. I just feel that if i put out there a request for the money it doesn’t feel as ‘real’ as if I ask for the sum of money through my business. So my believability is with placing a candidate with a client and getting paid a fee.

Also, I truly desire success in the line of business that i am now in. look foward to learning your thoughts on this.

Hi James

thanks for the ebook, webinair and book (en route). I have a quick question: I run my own recruitment business and need to make money NOW! You say not to tell the Universe how to give you the money you affirm but expect it will arrive. I have a strong desire to earn it through my business and to be a successful businesswoman and expand my business and I also have a strong belief that I can achieve X sum by X date. Can I go ahead and affirm it will arrive through my busines (expectation) and then I may be surprised? I think otherwise I’ll only wonder how it will arrive and also I don’t want someone dying so that I am bequeathed it!!!! Thanks, Veronica
