I use the term “personal energy” to refer to a person’s capacity for mental and physical activity. The process of using mind power to attract money requires energy. And it’s just common sense to conclude that the better you manage your energy, the more of it you will have to put into your money-attracting efforts.
Chapter 19 in my book, How to Attract Money Using Mind Power, is titled “Personal Energy.” Here’s the quote I open that chapter with:
“The challenge of great performance is to manage your energy more effectively in all dimensions to achieve your goals.”
—Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz, The Power of Full Engagement, 2003
Managing your personal energy has to do with factors such as how much energy you can access and how you direct it once you have it. Good physical health is an important part of the energy equation. It’s a natural fact that the healthier and more fit a person is, the more energy that person tends to have. A healthy body tends to let energy flow through you easily, and an unhealthy body tends to restrict the flow of energy through you.
And as important as how much energy you have is how you direct it once you have it, meaning in what ways you expend and use your energy. Your energy will flow in line with your thought, emotion, attention, intention and action. By how you direct your energy through these avenues, you cause yourself to either attract or repel money.
You already know that your energy is used to make possible any and all physical activity you engage in. You need to move and when you do you expend energy to do so. But it’s important to really get that you also use energy for all of your mental and emotional activity, and the results you get from doing so will depend on the force and nature of that activity.
How to Attract Money Using Mind Power is mostly about how to manage and use mental and emotional energy in order to attract money. The chapter on personal energy, though, focuses more on what to do and how to live so that you have enough energy and, again, that is largely about physical health.
There are many ways to regain good physical health if ours has been compromised and to maintain it if we presently have it. And so much of this is plain common sense. It’s stuff many of us know. Just because we know, though, doesn’t mean we do. So I invite you to consider the following concepts and I encourage you to make appropriate improvements.
One of the most fundamental ways to improve physical health and thereby increase personal energy is to eat a wholesome diet. And you should drink enough water, breath fully and get plenty of fresh air. You should get sufficient sleep, rest and relaxation.
And don’t forget about recreation and exercise. You need a certain amount of sunshine and natural light. And you know that you should limit your intake of, and your exposure to, harmful substances. You will do well to avoid stress, negative emotions and sexual excess. And don’t forget to smile, to laugh and to be happy.
Too, considering the hectic, fast-paced, lives most of us lead, we will do well to remind ourselves that we need breaks from our work. Whether it’s minutes, hours, days or weeks, downtime can be very restorative in nature.
It’s true that we all know more than we do. It can be just as true that we think we know more than we actually know. In other words, some of what we think we know is simply not true, or we misunderstand the true meaning and implications. So regarding health knowledge, and any other kind of knowledge for that matter, we should remain open and receptive to new ideas and new information.
There are things, though, that we pretty well all know and agree on. So each of us can start right now to improve our physical health. For you the individual this means that you can get out and walk or ride a bike. You can strive to remain emotionally poised in the face of circumstances which would normally knock you out of your emotional equilibrium.
If you’re like the average person, you could stand to cut down on junk food at least a little. The same for the cigarettes and the alcohol. When you were a kid you may have believed that you were the exception to the rule; that you could do whatever you wanted without paying the price others clearly end up paying. But you’re not a kid any longer. Now you know better. Right?
And beyond these so-called “practical” ways of improving and maintaining your level of health, the mind power techniques themselves can aid you in your efforts. Two examples are that you can visualize yourself in the state of health and fitness you are striving to attain, and you can use health-improving affirmations. Here is an affirmation I suggest in the book: “I am healthy, fit, strong and full of energy.”
And you shouldn’t be surprised to hear me advise you to stop wasting so much of your energy. We all do it. We spend energy on things and activities that do not help us advance in the direction of our important goals and aspirations and which keep us from doing so.
Here’s another quote I use in my chapter on Personal Energy:
“Helping yourself to riches entails the output of an enormous amount of energy. Good health is therefore an essential part of becoming successful.”
—Brian Adams, Grow Rich with Your Million Dollar Mind, 1991
You need energy to attract money and you need a lot of energy to attract a lot of money. When you are able to get more energy, to waste less energy, and to focus your energy properly for the specific purpose of attracting more money, you will attract more money.
