It was on 9/11 that I finally understood the meaning of “as a little child.” I was watching a close friends 4-year-old daughter, in her home. She laid down to nap on the floor, between myself and the TV. It was showing over and over again, what had happened. Every so often, she would wake just enough, to roll over and see if I was still there.
Her eyes would open just enough to see me, and close again. Then, she would roll back, and go back to sleep. She had absolute faith that as long as her “trusted adult” was there, she was safe. It didn’t matter what was happening in the rest of the world. She knew she was safe as long as I was there to protect her.
Then, I understood what Christ meant. When we can face whatever happens, with that same faith in Him, we will have faith as little children. I’ve spent the time since then, trying to trust Him that much. I’m still a long way form it, but slowly getting better at it. I’m 61, and I can do it for almost 5 minutes at a time. If I live long enough, I may recapture the ability she had at 4.

I always felt that Jesus had a different message he was trying to leave to us, but that the powers that were took the wrong meaning. I always felt that Jesus was trying to tell us that if we but believe, then anything is possible, so long as we do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and that ” whatever it is that we pray for, so long as we believe it is already ours, then our prayers have been answered”. In other words, whatever it was that Jesus did, the same powers are open to us, so long as we ” become like little children” and accept that we are just as powerful

Although I am not at all religious, & you have put the abilities of ‘positivity’ of the power of the mind & it’s capabilities of self healing & health into context the way you have described in the story above I believe this to be absolutely true, unfortunately for some, their minds hold onto ‘negativity’ & they don’t accept these possibilities state4d above as true so they look to conventional medicine as their only hope (sometimes this may also be a nessecity in many cases) But put simply ‘you are what you think (or percieve yourself to be) you are’.

The person I thought of as an expert healer was Burt Goldman and this childlike way of using our own powers would appeal to him I’m sure.
