“Art is food for the Soul.”
Far from being a luxury, Art has been inherent to humanity for ever, regardless of the riches, poverty, degree of technology or location of the human group. It is part of our legacy and of our psyche, collectively and individually.
Art is powerful.
As an Artist, my goal is not only to represent something beautiful or evocative, but to trigger inner bliss, peacefulness and primal exhilaration in my fellow humans by offering a quiet place for their mind to disengage and relax, leaving some room for awe…
There is a healing quality in quieting the mind, a spaciousness that can pass from the Painter to the Watcher, through a simple image.
That’s the Magic of Art.
That’s what I am striving for.
I hope these new images will give pleasure and comfort to all who visit with them…
They have been painted with Love.
Being remodeled completely, my website will be looking different (and I hope for the best !) starting somewhere during September 2012.
Thank you for visiting.
“Dawn Magic 3 ” ©Emmeline Craig 2010 Oil on canvas 4 x 2 ft (Original sold)
The sky, vast and full of colors again, but this time at dawn, on the beach, when all is fresh and crisp, seagulls flying low over the water and you are the first one leaving foot prints on the wet sand…
Flying High © Emmeline Craig2011 Oil on canvas 8 x 16 inch.
A small piece but encompassing the vastness of a late summer sky, and the fluid movement of a seagull gliding above…
“Inside Out, Quantum Journey” ©Emmeline Craig 2011. Oil on canvas 4 x 5ft
This is a rather surreal, though familiar looking scene, that is all about transition, transformation and the muti-faceted manifestation of our reality. It’s a large work that took a long time to complete, but I had some of my patrons telling me they were able to actually go “into” the image and back, and loved the experience !
“Clouds” ©Emmeline Craig 2011 Watercolor on paper 5 x 5 inch. (sold)
A tiny work on paper featuring a landscape in the area where I live and paint. The sky was spectacular that day. It was fun to try and capture it in a 5 x 5 inch image.
“Summer in San Geronimo Valley” Watercolor 4×4″ ©2009.
A place which I go by very often, the sky was dramatic and the grass was golden…Just pretty, feeling good.
“Swallows in Limantour” Watercolor and Tempera. 4×4″©2008.
Another place that I love. The dunes are covered with long grass and swallows keep playing up and down making your heart sing.
