After you’ve clearly identified your desires, you should firmly declare that the thing you wish to come to pass has already happened.
In other words, you should imagine the thing you’ve asked for as if you already have it.
For instance, if you want a new job, imagine yourself happily chatting with friends while doing a job you love; or imagine having fun chatting with co-workers you enjoy being around.
Don’t waste your time thinking about how much you hate your job and the people you work with. Speak to yourself in a positively-expectant, present-tense whenever you speak about your desire; speak of your desire as if it were already an accomplished fact.
The Bible says, “Declare a thing and it is so;” this is a slightly bolder and more imaginative strategy than simply hoping your dreams come true – and it works.
When you declare a thing as truth, you affirm it. When you affirm a thing, your unconscious mind takes steps to make it happen – steps you might not even recognize or understand.
Just imagine the “Little Engine That Could;” that engine didn’t say, “I don’t think I can climb this hill; in fact, I’m
sure I can’t…” That engine said, “I think I can, I think I can,” until it realized it could and started saying, “I know I can!”
Henry Ford said, “If you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right either way;” and Jesus said, “As a man thinketh, so it is done to him.” The engine had a job to do, it decided to do it, declared it as a possibility (and then a reality), and
then did it.
If you firmly decide what you want, and speak in those terms, you’ll soon realize your dreams. If you pay attention to your thoughts and act faithfully on any inspirations you receive, your actions will lead you to a place where you will find what you seek.
By thinking and speaking in vague terms, we end up with a vague, mediocre life. By making clear, specific declarations and affirmations about our lives and what we want them to become, we program ourselves for success.
Trust me when I tell you that the most successful people on the planet are not “accidentally successful;” nor do successful people think randomly, chaotically or in vague terms about their goals and desires.
Think about what you want in clear and specific terms – until you can feel the reality of your desire – and affirm your desire with positive expectancy.
Declare that nothing could stand between you and your goal and that you have already reached it. Certainly, if you have gone there in your mind, you will go there in body. If you have been as clear and specific with your thoughts as
possible, you’ve already been there in your mind and the rest is simply a matter of time.
