<p>It is because it is a GREAT question.</p>
<p>Tony Robbins always says, <em>Questions provide the key to unlocking our unlimited potential. The quality of your life is in direct proportion to the quality of the questions you ask yourself.</em></p>
<p><em>So what kinds of questions do you usually ask yourself? Have you ever heard in your head:</em></p>
<ul>
<li><em>Why me?</em></li>
<li><em>Why am I so stupid?</em></li>
<li><em>Why is she/he so successful when I am at least      as smart?</em></li>
<li><em>Why am I alone?</em></li>
<li><em>Why can’t I make any money?</em></li>
<li><em>Why can’t I lose weight?</em></li>
<li><em>Why are my relationships so unsupportive?</em></li>
<li><em>Why do I let people take advantage of me?</em></li>
<li><em>Why can’t everyone be more like me?</em></li>
</ul>
<p><em>And many other questions that may be traveling in and out of your consciousness.</em></p>
<p><em>What’s wrong with asking those kinds of questions? </em></p>
<p><em>We know from quantum physics, that what you think about you create, and what you continue to think about continues to expand in your experience.</em></p>
<p><em>The very best way to feel even more stupid is to keep asking, Why am I so stupid</em><em>?</em></p>
<p><em>The best way to be alone is to keep concentrating on the feeling and experience of being alone.</em></p>
<p><em>The best way to make certain you don’t get support from people is to keep asking, Why are my relationships so unsupportive?</em></p>
<p><em>How can you change your life experience, and change what you have in your life?</em></p>
<p><em>A really useful 3-step system includes:</em></p>

<li><em><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">First</span></strong></em><em> &#8211; ask better questions</em></li>
<li><em><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Second</span></strong></em><em> &#8211; create your </em><a title="Creation Step VIII" href="../creation-step-viii/" target="_blank"> <em>One Command</em></a><em>s</em><em> and say them while      in the theta brainwave state (you can use the Tibetan eye roll and the 6      Steps)</em></li>
<li><em><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Third</span></strong></em><em> &#8211; choose to live in gratitude</em></li>
</ul>
<p><em>Living in gratitude is what links your new thought and new behaviors together to support their continuation in your life. Neurons that fire together, wire together, so to continue to get what you want in your life and be how you want to Be, remember to notice and support your new life by practicing gratitude for what you have already created.</em></p>
<p><em>Living in gratitude also means living in gratitude ahead</em><em> of the experience as well. That may seem odd, however, to ‘lock-in’ the process of creation and the acceptance of what you have created, thanking the universe in advance is a body-mind demonstration that you understand and embrace the process. You will ‘see it when you believe</em><em> it.’</em></p>
<p><em>Think about how you will feel</em><em> in the short-term, and then think about what you will experience</em><em> in your life in the long term, when you ask questions like these instead:</em></p>

<p><em><strong>Your Start of Day Questions to Yourself:</strong></em></p>
<p><em>What am I looking forward to today?</em></p>
<p><em>Who do I want to be today?</em></p>
<p><em> </em></p>
<p><em><strong>Your Mid-day Questions to Yourself:</strong></em></p>
<p><em>What surprised me so far today?</em></p>
<p><em>What am I looking forward to for the rest of the day?</em></p>
<p><em> </em></p>
<p><em><strong>Your End of Day Questions to Yourself:</strong></em></p>
<p><em>What was I most grateful for in my life today?</em></p>
<p><em>How does it get any better than this?</em></p>
<p><em> </em></p>
<p><em><strong>Your Head Hitting the Pillow Single Most Important Question to Yourself:</strong></em></p>
<p><em>What else is possible?</em></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p>Does all of that sound like a lot of work? It may feel like it in the beginning, so the questions are:</p>
<p>Do I want to change the experience of my life?</p>
<p>And….  Am I willing to do the work?</p>
<p>The actual questions you ask yourself may be different than the ones I have suggested, and that is because – this is<em> your</em> journey.</p>
<p>Why is putting your energy into changing the questions you ask yourself so very important? Because what you are thinking about is what you are creating moment by moment. Remember how you feel when you ask the questions that make you feel inferior and emphasize lack and limitation.</p>
<p>Then think about how you will feel as you ask yourself the new questions that focus you on who you truly are and who you truly can be. You know that when you do what you’ve always done, you get what you’ve always gotten – and that includes what you think about yourself, whether in statements or questions.</p>
<p>Negative statements fail you and your sense of well-being, positive statements serve you to live in faith instead of fear.</p>
<p>The quantum model of reality shows us that in order to change your life, you need to change the way you think, behave and even feel at the most basic levels. You can do this using both the beta and theta brainwave levels. To change your thinking, you can start in beta-mind and change what you say to  yourself, and then go to the theta brainwave to change your DNA programming.</p>
<p>Your courageous, ethical, compassionate, spontaneous, brilliant Self is always there, you can access that You with better questions in your daily thoughts and your One Commands:</p>
<p><em>I don’t know how I offer myself loving words everyday, I only know I do now and I am fulfilled.</em></p>
<p><em>I don’t know how I am compassionate in my thoughts and behaviors, I only know I am now and I am fulfilled.</em></p>
<p><em>I don’t know how I use my words with wisdom and grace, I only know I do now and I am fulfilled.</em></p>
<p><em>I don’t know how I create a new me with my thoughts, I only know I do now and I am fulfilled.</em></p>
<p>So the question is – What have you got to lose by asking better questions? (Nothing, by the way).</p>
<p>And the ancillary question is – What do you have to <em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">gain </span></em>by asking better questions?</p>

<p>In order to understand the workings of the mind from a holistic and  integrative point of view, we also need to look into the physiological  and biological aspects of it.</p>
<p>Neuroscience is the umbrella term that incorporates all the related  subjects that study the brain and the nervous system which is basically  the extension of the brain’s communication network infrastructure.  Neurology, neurosurgery, neurotechnology and other neuro-related  subjects fall under the category of neuroscience.</p>
<p>Every function of the mind has it’s organic member (the brain) to  carry it out. The mind is spiritual while the brain is its physical  counter part. Every thought that we think causes the corresponding  neurons to fire off signals across synapses resulting in brain  activities and neuromuscular events.</p>
<p>So the better the state of your brain is, the better your mind can  function in physical reality. The same is vice versa. Mind affects  brain, brain affects mind. But of the two, the mind is the superior one.  Simply because the mind has the higher power of causality. The physical  level of reality is always subject to the intents of the spiritual  level of reality.</p>
<p>Every neurological disorder has its roots in psychological  conditions. But the problem with the field of psychiatry is that they  have most of their diagnosis of the mind/brain relationship the other  way round. And that’s where alot of false information and ineffective  methods of dealing with mental life, originates from.</p>
<p>When you’re looking to drugs as the solution, you’re not looking at  the real issue of the problem which is usually something psychospiritual  rather than something purely biological. Taking drugs to suppress what  your body is signaling to you through negative symptoms, is simply just a  way of temporality masking the problems.</p>
<p>The reason why side effects occur even severe ones when a person  takes psychiatric drugs is because the body is rejecting such chemicals  as it is trying to bring to awareness certain problems in a person’s  life that he needs to deal with and not escape by taking drugs.</p>
<p>The worst case is when a patient has to spend a lifetime of  medication and never getting to face the real issue which he should  confront and deal with in order to learn and grow from it.</p>
<p>The best way to deal with any situation is always from a holistic  way, and in the right order as well. When you work with a situation from  a higher level, it may be resolved long before even needing to proceed  to the lower levels.</p>
<p>Having the awareness of how interrelated things affect one another  from both sides is the power of total perspective. Always remember, the  mind is above the brain.</p>

I suggest you start out with rods, since they&#8217;re easier to use, initially. Get a metal coat hanger, and saw it in half. (I had to use a hammer once, when I couldn&#8217;t find a hacksaw). Measure two parts of it, which are straight, and connected to each other. (see image). One of the parts should be around 10cm. The other, 25cm. The exact measurements do not matter, and it doesn&#8217;t have to be accurate. Saw off the surplus bits, and bend the rod, so that there is a 90 degree angle in it.</p>
<p><img src="http://www.evolutionezine.com/rods1_150.jpg" alt="" /> Now make another one. They should be reasonably straight (except for the bend), and equal in size.</p>
<p><strong>Exercise 1 : Rod Control</strong></p>
<p>Hold the rods in your hands, with your arms by your side, bent at the elbow, so the rods are held out in front of you, at around waist level. When you get a positive result you will want the rods to move together, or cross. Try doing this now, deliberately. Turning your hands very slightly, in the appropriate direction should do it.</p>
<p>Practice crossing and uncrossing them, deliberately, with small wrist movements. After a while you should be able to cross them, without visibly turning your hands. This is what you should aim for. You should be able to &#8216;make them cross&#8217; by thinking about it. Keep trying until you can. I check the operation of my rods by holding them in front of me and taking a deep breath. If they are working properly they cross each other.</p>
<p>I think it is important to reiterate that there is nothing special about the rods. They are not &#8216;magic&#8217; as many people would have you believe. If someone says &#8220;You&#8217;re cheating; you moved them&#8221; then rest assured that they&#8217;re not going to move on their own, unless it&#8217;s windy, and you do know what you are doing. They merely amplify your arm and wrist movements so that you can see them visibly.</p>
<p><strong>Exercise 2 : Finding anything</strong></p>
<p>Once you have mastered exercise one, which shouldn&#8217;t take all that long, if you do it properly, try this. Take your rods, and simply wander around the house. Hold them loosely, so that they can swing, if &#8216;they&#8217; want to. Clear your mind, and tell yourself that you want a positive reaction, if you walk over anything buried. Don&#8217;t be too specific. Don&#8217;t immediately go for water pipes. You can try that later. Just anything buried. See what happens.</p>
<p><strong>Exercise 3 : Specific Substances</strong></p>
<p>Now for the cliches. Hopefully, you will have had some response from the previous exercise. If not, keep trying, and remain open-minded about any perceived information. Try not to judge it as it comes in.</p>
<p>Okay. Let&#8217;s look for some water pipes. It will be best to do this in a house, preferably, a friend&#8217;s house, so that you do  not know where the pipes are, but he/she does. This way, you will not judge any incoming information, and base it on prior knowledge.</p>
<p>You know what a pipe looks like, so imagine one. Imagine the sounds of dripping water, if it helps. Say to yourself, either aloud, or in your mind, &#8220;I want the rods to cross, when I walk over some water&#8221;, or something similar. Repeat this a few times, so that you are pretty sure of exactly what you are after. Many people are surprised at how this works first time (I know I was!).</p>
<p>Now, walk around slowly (preferably with your eyes open, so you can see where you&#8217;re going). Keep the image of the pipe in your mind. If you see the rods cross, step back a bit, and let them uncross. Try it again. See if it was just a draught, or whether it was a pipe. Ask your friend, or consult a map, or something. Carry on.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re wrong, don&#8217;t worry. Nothing is ever 100% accurate anyway, so why should dowsing be? See how many you can find.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>Creativity is a principle that governs everything visible and invisible around us -Creation.  Creativity is Life Energy being constantly channeled and re-channeled, formed and transformed.  It&#8217;s this very energy that created the first cell of our bodies and what keeps silently generating and re-generating all our cells every single second of our lives.  Still, when asked if they are creative most people timidly say, &#8220;Oh no, I&#8217;m not&#8221;.</p>
<p>Oh yes you are! You simply don&#8217;t know it! You simply don&#8217;t give yourself credit for your creativity! Every time you tell your child a bed-time story and you embellish it with vivid details to make it as entertaining as possible, you are being creative. Every time you cook a meal, and add your personal touch to it, some special spice not included in the recipe, you are being creative. Every time you pick wild flowers to create a bouquet, you are being creative. Every time you hang a new painting or poster on your wall, you are being creative. Every time you send a greeting card and speak from your heart, you are being creative. Every time you buy a new blouse and imagine how well it will match and combine with your other clothes, you are being creative. Every time you manage to &#8220;stretch&#8221; your budget with some skillful handling, you are being creative.</p>
<p>So, what if you decided to become aware of how creative you already are in your every day life? What if you allowed yourself to see what an artist, what an innovator, what an ingenious problem-solver you already are? What if you decided to consciously ignite and feed the flame of your creativity? What if you believed in your creativity and approached life with a creative attitude? Can you envision the impact this would have on the experienced quality of your life? Can you envision the expanded sense of self that might emerge?</p>
<p>Whether you are a &#8220;creative liver&#8221; and you just want to gain greater access to your creativity or take it to another level, or you are an artist or belong to some other profession which requires the creative use of your mind, there are five competencies and habits that you need to develop and cultivate:</p>
<p><strong>Capturing</strong>. Capturing refers to preserving your ideas as they come, without judging them. Suppose you are planning your wedding and you want it to be special, unique, a memory to treasure in its every little detail. How can you go about it?</p>
<p>First of all, allow your ideas to take inspired form. Allow your feelings about the desired outcome to come to your aid, because those feelings are where your inspiration will come from. Ideas come at strange moments. They don&#8217;t come when you sit at your desk and say, &#8220;Well, now I am going to plan a gorgeous wedding&#8221;. Creativity opens up on its own much better when the mind is allowed to wander freely, when it is in &#8220;alpha state&#8221;,  when you are daydreaming, imagining, losing yourself in your fantasy world.</p>
<p>Creative ideas are nebulous and fleeting and sometimes great ideas get lost just because we don&#8217;t have the habit of capturing them. So get into the habit of recording your ideas, as they come, the minute they come, if it&#8217;s at all possible. I have a little notepad and pen in each one of my purses. I definitely have a little notepad and pen in my beach bag, because that&#8217;s when my very best ideas come -sunbathing at the beach. I have a little notepad and pen on my bedside table, because sometimes ideas come in my sleep and wake me.</p>
<p>So be prepared, equip yourself with whatever recording device you prefer &#8211; notepads, your i-phone, audio recording devices, voicemail, electronic notepad on your computer- and record your ideas before they dissipate like clouds racing across the sky. Once you have recorded them, they have taken a more definite form. Later, when you examine them one by one, some will take an even more concrete form, some will be discarded, some will transform into a yet better idea.</p>
<p><strong>Surrounding</strong>. Surrounding refers to including in your environment as many diverse stimuli as you can and changing them as often as possible. Pictures, screensavers, dream-boards, vision-boards -these are all great aids in stimulating your brain and accessing your creativity. Sometimes, we must shock our brains to generate some extra stimulation. Dr. Robert Epstein, an expert on creativity, says that if we put a Mickey Mouse hat and and pliers on our desk in the morning, our thinking will move in odd directions during the whole day. These distractions, however, are great<br />
triggers of creativity. Once I was researching something on the Internet and I came across the phrase &#8220;something radical&#8221;. For some reason, it impressed me greatly, so I wrote it down on a piece of paper which I left on my desk, next to my computer. Several times a day, my eyes would fall on that piece of paper and I would ponder again and again the thought of &#8220;something radical&#8221;. Though I have not yet produced anything so radical I can boast about, I know that my mind was encouraged to move in radical directions for me, to try new things, to dare a little bit more.</p>
<p>Surrounding also refers to opening up yourselves to a diverse group of interesting people. If you are continually surrounded by people who are restrained or constricted about their creative abilities, you will not find appropriate<br />
encouragement or role-models among them to help you spark your creativity.</p>
<p>Finally, surrounding refers to providing yourself with frequent breaks and changes of scenery. Most experts on creativity recommend &#8220;the twenty minute walk&#8221; as a very helpful aid in resting, refreshing and recharging our brains. Once you have begun working on your creative project, taking a break, removing yourself from your familiar environment, exposing yourself to a new set of stimuli can greatly increase the flow of your creativity. Just make sure you have your recording device with you when you take your walk, because that&#8217;s perhaps when your next great idea will come!</p>
<p><strong>Challenging</strong>. Challenging refers to giving yourselves tough problems to solve and trying to stretch your problem-solving capacities. For example, it&#8217;s a good idea to make it a habit to solve puzzles or games. What happens when you do that, is that new neural interconnections are built every time you tackle something unusual or especially demanding which wakes up dormant areas of the brain. It does not matter if you manage to solve the puzzle or not. In fact, frustration can be a great motivator sometimes, and you may be surprised to find out that if you attempt to<br />
solve the puzzle you failed at the first time around,  the answer will be ready and will seem ridiculously obvious a few days later! More surprisingly, you may discover that the answer to a sticky detail of your project, also comes along with the answer to the puzzle. That&#8217;s the way the brain works!</p>
<p><strong>Broadening</strong>. Broadening refers to exposing yourselves to as much information as possible on diverse subjects that may not have anything to do with your creative projects or endeavors.  Experts on creativity suggest taking one college course per year on topics that do not directly relate to your profession or general interests. Once again, the process of shocking the brain by exposing it to new sorts of information, by creating new neural pathways for storing and processing this information greatly enhances your creative repertoire. Getting in touch with other cultures is also a great way of broadening your personal data base. Reading novels or poetry by foreign writers, tasting unusual foods, listening to unfamiliar music, learning ethnic dances, helps you open up to whole worlds that you were previously<br />
unaware of and excites your subconscious by providing it with new sounds, ideas, symbols, images to play with.</p>
<p><strong>Keeping a journal and recording your progress</strong>. Once you have captured your ideas and you are ready to explore or implement some of them,  it&#8217;s important to break down your project into manageable pieces and record your progress. Get a notebook and devote a single page to every little piece, or sub-goal of your project. As you complete each one, don&#8217;t forget to reward and congratulate yourself on every small step you take. Put a check mark on each page every time you complete a task and write WELL DONE or WIN with big, bold letters! No matter how much support you may<br />
have from friends, colleagues or family, your creative project is something very personal that no-one else can participate in as fully as you do. Support yourself in your effort! As you progress, as you learn how to get into &#8220;creative mode&#8221; more and more easily, more and more completely, as you learn to soar, you will also experience some &#8220;lows&#8221; &#8211; great sweeping waves of discouragement, doubt, fear &#8220;coming out of nowhere&#8221;. It&#8217;s normal. It&#8217;s part of the growth  process. It&#8217;s your old self you are leaving behind creating a bit of resistance. Recording all the things you<br />
have already done, leafing through your notebook and seeing all the steps you&#8217;ve taken, the distance you have covered since the moment of conception of your creative idea,  how much you&#8217;ve grown, will help you turn those negative feelings around.</p>
<p>Everyone can establish these new processes and habits! The more you use them and incorporate them into your way of life, the more tuned-in you will become to your creativity, the more you will be able to nurture it and keep its flame alive.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>Recently we had the privilege of interviewing the brilliant physicist, Dr. Brooks Agnew on our radio show, <em>Living in the Quantum Field</em> on Contact Talk Radio. His book <em>Remembering the Future: The Physics of Soul and Time Travel</em> is a goldmine of information on the mathematics of creation and actually a terrific support for direct, straightforward communication with your Source-self, such as <a href="http://evolutionezine.com/creation-step-viii/" target="_blank">The One Command</a>.</p>
<p>If you are a regular devotee of the <em>Through the Wormhole</em> Series with Morgan Freeman on the Science Channel, then you already know that everything in the universe can be addressed through mathematics. And our media has been slipping that information to us for decades, from Star Trek in the 1960s, to the TV show Numbers, to the Science channel, the History2 channel, and many PBS stations.</p>
<p>One of the current shows on <em>Through the Wormhole</em> suggests that we are actually in someone else’s holographic computer program, and the scientific explanation is compelling. Anyone remember The Matrix?</p>
<p>Dr. Agnew’s key concept is that everything past, present and future can be affected by the intention of a single sentient being. And more critically should millions of our seven billion souls on the earth apply our intention in a focused and coordinated way, there are no limits on what we can create.</p>
<p>We are all creators of the universe, and it doesn’t matter if we are aware of it or not. When we accept this truth, we can discover the process of living large and give up our sense of limitation and lack.</p>
<p>You can insert your conscious energy at the right moment into the creative process of life on purpose, and at exactly the right moment, which allows a very small amount of energy to massively improve your quality of life.</p>
<p>So what are the mathematics of Creation?  Well – here goes:</p>
<p>V = <span style="text-decoration: underline;">∏ d</span><span style="text-decoration: underline;">² h</span></p>
<p>Ok – so  rendering mathematical symbols is different than understanding them. What I understand from Dr. Agnew is that the equation means that the future, as it emanates from a particular Source Point forward, is shaped like a cone and not a circle, and the volume of the cone represents the potential of all potentialities. (To really understand what that means you can read his book and listen to him on our radio show, <em>Living in the Quantum Field</em> on contacttalkradio.com).</p>
<p>Why is this equation important? Because it refers to the fact that most people, when they put a dream into the universe, they make a ‘but-first list’. They start planning it all out and telling the universe <em>how</em> to make it so. That is why with The One Command, for example, we start with the words, <em>I don’t know how</em>…before we state our desire and our preferences. This is because our beta-mind, our pre-programmed intelligence, <em>doesn’t know how</em> to fulfill our dreams, heck…we often don’t even know <em>why</em> we actually want what we want!</p>
<p>So what happens is, this perfect cone of potentiality with great smooth sides, gets off-kilter due to future threads (all the <em>’yes-buts&#8217;, </em>and<em> ‘gotta have it this way’ </em>demands), which may not resonate with the way what you want is available in vibration in the universe. So the perfect cone of potential becomes more like a tornado and the number of potentials is reduced. Your own ego may even squeeze it down into a process that your personal cone can’t support, thereby blocking the abundance that the universe had in store for you.</p>
<p>A story from <em>The One Command</em> by Asara Lovejoy:</p>
<p><em>One day there was a rag merchant whose donkey died. He became very agitated because his ability to provide good for his family was gone if he couldn’t drive his rag cart around the city to sell his rags. At the end of the street, there was a corral with an old, broken down horse, and the rag merchant sent up a plea and a prayer to God and his angels to please, please let him have that old broken-down old horse in order to survive.</em></p>
<p><em>Two of his guardian angels looked down at this good man and turning to each other, said, ‘He has specially asked for that old nag in the corral, so we have to give him what he requested, but I’d like to know what we are going to do with two fine thoroughbred horses we had lined up for him instead.’</em></p>
<p>So what do you want instead? What do you want instead of what you have, and even – what do you want instead of what you think you want when you are thinking small and when you are believing that is all you have the right to ask for, all you deserve.</p>
<p>You deserve so much more <em>and</em> it is in your Cone of Possibility.</p>
<p>Dr. Agnew demonstrates in his book that:</p>
<p><em>Manifestation is the literal creation process of a human soul. Each soul has all the potential and tools of godhood built into it. One of the most important things a person has to do is remember who they are, and that their potential is absolutely unlimited. </em></p>
<p>He also reminds us that:</p>
<p><em>The universe does not discriminate. It cannot. The program has rules in order to exist, and this is a rule. Whatever energy is sent out to the universe from a sentient being will vibrate everything that will sympathize with that energy.</em></p>
<p>Dr. Agnew reminds us that our Self can see both backwards and forwards, and the narrow part of the cone is the place from which we can make observations and create new intentions, it is not meant to be a place to live and be stuck in, it is a place to move forward <em>from</em>.</p>
<p>It is important to remember that the past is small and the future is unlimited and it is the power of our intention that energizes our movement to creation. So back to the mathematics of creation…</p>
<p>Dr. Agnew says that:</p>
<p><em>The slightly more distant future is wide open to the potential of all possibilities – unless we force one of the future threads into it by dictating how the dream must be fulfilled. </em></p>
<p><em>There is a Golden Proportion of 1.1618 to 1. The energy of intention can achieve the golden Proportion and be supported by the resonance rules of the Universe. One decimal  point away 1.619 becomes The Golden Mean – the ratio by which chaos becomes order.</em></p>
<p>Katie says:</p>
<p>Whether you understand the mathematics of creation or not, it is like gravity, it functions in the absence of your attention or your belief. There is enough substantiation from the science of quantum physics, from techniques like The One Command and from many of our ancient writings including most of our religious texts. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>With the explosion of current research on the amazing powerful benefits of meditation, many people are giving it a try.  Many people get excited to change their lives through meditation.  A good many of those will give it up after a week or a month, saying that &#8220;This program&#8217;s just not working for me&#8221;  or &#8220;It&#8217;s not what I expected&#8221; or &#8220;I thought it was supposed to make me feel peaceful and I&#8217;m more anxious&#8221; or &#8220;It&#8217;s just too frustrating, I can&#8217;t quiet my mind.&#8221;</p>
<p>If you&#8217;ve any experiences similar to these, read on.  What you&#8217;re about to hear might not be what you expect and it could change your life.</p>
<p>As an author of several meditation and mind-body training programs, I&#8217;m always looking for the best ways to communicate these practices in a way that people &#8220;get it&#8221; and &#8220;change their lives&#8221; for the better.  What I&#8217;ve come to learn is that people often don&#8217;t get the experience they are looking for because they are either over anxious, or they are trying too hard, or they don&#8217;t really understand what they&#8217;re doing or what is happening to them during meditation.</p>
<p>Many people come to meditation because they want to relax and de-stress.  They are caught up in certain habits of thinking and feeling that are wearing them out and they want to learn how to change that.  The challenge is that meditation teaches you a different way to relate to your thoughts and feelings and it often takes some time before it becomes easy and automatic.  Meditation is a learned skill that you will get better and better at through consistent practice.</p>
<p>In meditation you learn to observe how you think and feel without being caught up in it and carried away by it.  You learn to focus your attention on one thing or one pattern, such as your breathing, a place in your body, or a particular thought, feeling, or intention for a period of time.  Whenever you notice that your mind has wandered from your focus, you simply recognize that your mind has wandered, you let that wandering thought go, and you return to your point of focus.</p>
<p>As you meditate, you are going to start noticing when you are anxious or stressed.  You may notice your lack of inner peace or the nonstop chatter in your mind.  Meditation didn&#8217;t cause these experiences, it  enables you to see them.  When you begin to notice your anxiety, your stress, and the non-stop chatter in your mind, what is most important is your attitude toward these experiences and toward yourself.</p>
<p>Accept them and accept yourself-completely.  Instead of judging yourself critically for wandering from your focus, or for being anxious or tense, or for having a busy mind, welcome your realization, accept it, then let those experiences go and return to your meditative focus.  You do this gently and easily as many times as it happens.</p>
<p>This attitude of complete self acceptance, of acceptance of whatever happens, begins to free you from the mental habit of pushing yourself, criticizing yourself and others, and generally resisting what life brings to you.  &#8220;Acceptance of what is&#8221; is a doorway into deeper self knowledge and expansion of your greater possibilities.</p>
<p>So, if you&#8217;ve started meditating and have found it frustrating, begin by accepting the process exactly as it is.  Observe your mind during meditation without judgment.  Allow yourself to be exactly as you are.  As you release self-critical pressure, amazing things will begin to happen.  Your meditation will deepen naturally, your mind will begin to quiet, you will more accurately sense inner guidance, and you&#8217;ll be on the way to living the ideal possibilities that you are meant to live.</p>

I was always fascinated by the studies demonstrating how mental rehearsal works and read many studies by psychologists, research scientists, Olympic trainers and athletes, demonstrating how and why mental rehearsal works in our body-mind.</p>
<p>One of my own teachers and mentors, Dr. Charles Garfield<em>,</em> author of<em> <em>Peak Performance </em></em><em>i</em>s<em> </em>a pioneer in the study of mental rehearsal.<em> </em>Dr. Garfield is a clinical professor and computer scientist and was a member of the team of engineers, analysts and support staff on the Apollo Eleven project. It was his work on the first moon-landing project that led to his discovery of the dynamics of peak performance and mental rehearsal.</p>
<p>Researchers like Dan Murphy (<em>Sport psychology interventions</em>), Dr. Daniel Kirschenbaum, author of <em>Mind matters: seven steps to smarter sport performance</em> and <em>Director, Center for Behavioral Medicine</em>, Dr. Sean McCann, <em>U.S. Olympic Committee Sport Science and Technology, </em>and Dr. Jean Williams, <em>Applied sport psychology: personal growth to peak performance</em>, have led the field in sports research and the power of mental rehearsal for positive change and success.</p>
<p>Well known authors and athletes like Dan Millman, author of <em>The Warrior Athlete </em>and George Leonard, author of <em>Mastery: The Keys to Success and Long-term Fulfillment</em> teach that mastery is a journey and mental rehearsal is a process along the Way.</p>

<p><strong>What is Mental Rehearsal?</strong></p>
<p>Mental rehearsal is the process of imprinting images of your goals and expectations in your mind. You practice seeing and feeling the positive outcomes and achievements that you want to manifest in your conscious reality.  Kinesthetic memory and visualization increase your likelihood of success. You can use mental rehearsal for any area of your life, health, wealth, happiness, relationships, sports, business, whatever you desire to allow in the life you are creating.</p>
<p>Research demonstrates that imagined events that are vividly imprinted in the mind&#8217;s eye, are recorded by the brain and central nervous system as memories. What you imagine becomes just as ‘real’ as when you are performing the actual behaviors. Your imagined experiences <em>are not distinguished in the mind from actual physical experiences</em>. When you repeatedly imagine something with feeling &#8211; your subconscious mind accepts these feelings, events and capacities for future reference.</p>
<p>Whether learning to play a sport, play an instrument, improve a relationship or expand your spiritual capacity  &#8211; when you repeatedly imagine something with feeling and focus, your subconscious mind accepts these events as ‘real’. There are resultant changes in muscle development, mental capacity <em>and</em> beliefs.</p>
<p>Most of our peak performing athletes, business people, teachers, writers, actors, or anyone expanding their capacities, use mental rehearsal to not only improve skills they already have, they also use mental rehearsal to develop new skills. <em>You</em> can use mental rehearsal to help yourself with whatever you choose to change or create in your life.</p>
<p>When I was teaching psychology at the University of Hawaii – I worked with a local High School basketball team. They had never won a championship before. We worked with basic relaxation techniques and then moved to mental rehearsal. The team won its first Championship that year!</p>
<p>I also taught skills in public speaking and job interviewing and acting. When you practice either in beta-mind and with actual physical interaction with your environment, or practice completely in your mind and imagination – the end results are almost identical.</p>
<p>What you have mentally rehearsed in alpha or theta – the stored information in your subconscious mind and in your muscle memory will go to work to produce what you have rehearsed in advance.</p>
<p><strong>The New Use for Mental Rehearsal – Change at the Spiritual Level</strong></p>
<p>The simple 6 Steps of The One Command is one highly successful approach to using mental rehearsal in a very unique way to change your DNA. You can easily learn the 6-Steps of <a title="Creation Step VIII" href="../creation-step-viii/" target="_blank">The One Command</a> in the book, <em>The One Command</em> by Asara Lovejoy.</p>
<p>Meditation is also a wonderful method for mental rehearsal and I have learned some new meditations from another of my teachers, Dr. Joe Dispenza – in his new book, <em>Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself</em>.</p>
<p>The use of Mental Rehearsal as a core process along with meditation, and The One Command empowers you in changing your DNA and creating the body-mind and life that you desire. I use mental rehearsal along with meditation and The One Command with all of my clients to break-through from the level of the theta mind (The One Command) and the alpha-theta mind (meditation) and beta-alpha-theta mind (mental rehearsal) &#8211; so that they are saturated with the opportunity to change their minds, change their DNA and change their hearts. You can use any or all of these steps in your life as well.</p>
<p><strong>How to Do It</strong></p>
<p>Mental Rehearsal can be accomplished during simple relaxation (going to alpha) and picturing a thought pattern or an activity, or through meditation (alpha-theta) and can be anchored in your DNA through the subsequent use of The One Command (theta).</p>
<p>Mental imagery has always been a part of our daily lives, most often through the use of negative imaging or worry.  People can be very skilled at visualizing disasters – most of which never happen. When you imagine and worry in your beta-mind – you have a cascade of chemicals that can be very destructive to the body over time, such as the release of cortisol.</p>
<p>For many decades now, our sages and scientists have been teaching us to think on, pray on, and meditate on, what we want instead of what we have. What makes this a very successful spiritual practice is when you elevate your imaging and visioning <em>purely</em> to what you want instead (of what you have) and then Command for that outcome in the theta brainwave, at that point – you have created the changes you desire.</p>
<p>To change your mind – and change your outcomes – use the process of Mental Rehearsal, meditate with intention, and then anchor your desired outcome with the 6-steps of The <a title="Creation Step VIII" href="../creation-step-viii/" target="_blank">The One Command</a> and you will have a personal practice that honors and supports your desire and decision to create not only a new life for you, but a whole new world of peace, value and success.</p>

<p>With reference to hypnosis and NLP, anchoring is a simple yet  extremely powerful persuasion technique. But to limit its use  exclusively to persuasion would be a mistake. Anchoring is a fundamental  part of NLP that is the primary ingredient for many useful rapid-change  procedures.</p>
<p>The roots of anchoring run throughout human history but were probably  officially identified and explained with Pavlov’s experiments with  dogs. During the 1890s scientist Ivan Pavlov was conducting gastric  function experiments with dogs to gather information on digestion.</p>
<p>He discovered that dogs would produce saliva when in close proximity  to meat, no surprise there. He then began to ring a bell as the dogs  drooled. And finally he only needed to ring the bell to get the drooling  response without offering the dogs any meat at all.</p>
<p>In Pavlov’s experiment the bell was the anchor that produced a  predictable response, in this case, drooling. The same principle can be  used for persuasion and many other desired outcomes for people seeking  rapid behavioral changes. Obviously we don’t have time for days of  conditioning with a subject, but we don’t really need a lot of time,  only keen observation skills and understanding how anchoring works.</p>
<p><strong>Build Rapport First Then Anchoring</strong></p>
<p>Let’s say you’ve managed to establish rapport with someone, perhaps  someone under your care in a hospital setting, though it could easily be  almost anyone in any setting. You’re chatting away and notice the  individual becomes particularly agreeable or open to direction when  talking about a particular time, event or person in their life. It’s  obvious that they just seem to give way to a resourceful state in  another place in time. This is the perfect situation to set an anchor  where you’ll be able to have access to that ‘cooperative’ internal  resource in the future. Here’s how you might go about it.</p>
<p>When you notice a behavior you’d like to access in the future, you’ll  want your subject to continue with it so you can set the anchor. In  other words, you’re going to want to encourage the state with supportive  conversation. While the individual is at the height of the desired  state, you might tap them on the forearm or tug on your ear, or use a  slightly unusual phrase with a different tonality than your usual voice.</p>
<p>What this does is creates an association from the anchor (the tap,  unusual voice, etc.) to the desired state. And it’s important to make it  somewhat unique so it’s not diluted by being something common or  expected in the normal course of interaction. Then, in the future, when  you’d like to access that agreeable or cooperative state of mind you  simply need to employ the anchor you’ve set previously. If you’ve done a  good job of anchoring that state, you’ll be amazed that your subject  will revert almost immediately to the related state of mind or behavior.</p>
<p>I realize that tugging on your ear or tapping the individual’s  forearm is not using verbal language to produce the desired result but  with hypnosis and NLP, the term language is rather flexible. In fact,  language is nothing more than a form of communication whether it be  verbal or otherwise. Anchors allow NLP practitioners to access  resourceful states in people and substitute or “install” those states in  areas where an individual needs help.</p>

<p>Your DNA is created by your thoughts and by your spoken words. In this way you are much more the co-creator of your life than you may have ever believed. In psychology we know that what you say to yourself shapes your emotional states and your belief systems, and vice versa, what you believe shapes what you say to yourself. This is an important emotional and biological cycle that you want to shift in the most profound ways – by interrupting the cycle and creating a whole new world for yourself and even a whole new you.</p>
<p>Talk therapy, behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, counseling, coaching – all of these approaches can be tremendously helpful in helping change and replace the words you say to yourself and thereby changing the outcomes you create in your life.</p>
<p>You are truly in charge of your life and you may have read this great little saying that demonstrates that concept:</p>
<p><em>Due to circumstances beyond my control – </em></p>
<p><em>I am Master of my Fate</em></p>
<p><em>And Captain of my Soul</em></p>
<p>I love that saying – it captures our emotional dichotomy – we are the Masters of our own fate, and yet, we act as if other people are in charge of &#8211; or the ‘cause’ of &#8211; our circumstances.</p>
<p>There is also a saying in Japan:</p>
<p><em>Even the monkey falls from the tree.</em></p>
<p>This means that even when you know better – you can slip up, Whether it is keeping your old limitations, even when you have learned where they came from (and they came from your parents, your playmates, your school, your place of worship, and even your ancestors).</p>
<p>When you begin to look at your old beliefs, those that limit you, those that make you feel bad, and even sometimes those that pretend to be encouraging, you can start to change them in your beta mind and that can get you started, however, when you are ready to change them at the level they were created, in your theta mind and in your theta brainwaves, then you don’t just change them, you actually REPLACE them with beliefs that serve you and offer you the life you have truly wanted.</p>
<p>The difficulty with trying to change your beliefs about yourself and your potentialities just using your beta-mind, is that you are anticipating that you tell your ipod (your brain) to play a song you haven’t downloaded, and your ipod does not have the capacity to do that. Your ipod (or your brain) can only play the songs that have already been downloaded – it does not have the capacity to create new ones. Only you can create new songs or new beliefs and you must do that in your theta mind, using your theta brainwaves.</p>
<p>We know from the current research that our human DNA is a virtual biological internet. We know that a mere 10% of our DNA us used for building the proteins of our body. Remember when we were told that much of our DNA was ‘junk DNA’. That never seemed logical to me and fortunately to a number of scientists and researchers. That so-called ‘junk DNA’ is the master-link for communication and for data storage – it is the personal Akashic record for all living things.</p>
<p>Do you wonder why some people seem to be more intuitive, more psychic, able to heal, even at a distance, why they can see auras or energy fields, why they can see, or feel events from afar, including what we consider the ‘future’?</p>
<p>Matter is energy, we are energy and we emit and receive frequencies. All energy emits frequencies and thereby has an effect on everything else. We are all entangled, there is no space and there is no time – but we create it in our minds as Einstein said, to separate things to better experience them.</p>
<p>Information is taken into your DNA from everywhere all the time, from every energy field including those you interact with, those you pass on the street, your total environment and your internal self-recognition – your own thoughts.</p>
<p>What you say about yourself and what you think about your self is how you create and continue to recreate yourself over and over. If you wonder why change seems difficult, consider that you are playing the same old songs (or ideas about yourself), over and over and over again.</p>
<p>Did you know that not only can you change your opinion of yourself by changing your thoughts about yourself, but that you can change your biological structure – and you can do this most efficiently and effectively in your theta or theta-delta brainwaves?</p>
<p>New research demonstrates that you can heal without cutting the body and change your genetic structure without cutting and replacing your genes. In a few more years, medicine will begin to look a lot more like Dr. McCoy on Star Trek would practice it, just as telephones are no longer huge devices attached to wires and lines, but are Star Trek Communicators – or cell phones. Lt. Uhura’s communication device is now Bluetooth.</p>

Getting into the inner phases of the mind and then harnessing the experience in your life WILL, without a shadow of a doubt, raise the overall quality of your life.</p>
<p>But, contrary to what a lot of mental well being experts and practitioners would have you believe, you do not need any special medication or drug to achieve this. Instead, there are methods which are completely natural that’ll get you the results you want.</p>
<p>So let me explain how to explore your mind in unimaginable ways. The following practice will help you – step by step – to sink into your soul, start sensing your mind’s true potential and explore altered states of consciousness:</p>
<p><strong>CORE-FOCUSED ACTIVE MEDITATION</strong></p>
<p>This method is based on sociological studies that indicate a storehouse of energy resides deep in the abdominal region of your body forming an overwhelming core. Sadly, in most individuals this remains dormant for a greater part of their life. To get more in touch with your subconscious, you need to awaken your core.</p>
<p>Start out by focusing on each sense of the five senses, while doing your everyday activities. That’ll get your mind prepared to delve deeper within itself.</p>
<p>To focus on the sense of seeing, you will actually close your eyes and look into the mind’s eye. For this, you can focus your attention in the center of your skull. For taste, focus on every sensation in your mouth. For smelling, sense the aroma in your environment. For touch, become aware of how your clothes feel against your skin, sense any object you are touching, such as a coffee cup clutched in your fingers… for hearing, simply put your attention on the symphony of sounds playing in the background. If all is silent, focus on the silence.</p>
<p>Experience each sense for about 60 seconds.</p>
<p>Move your awareness from one sense to the other and immerse yourself in them.</p>
<p>Repeat this practice for a few days until you’re fairly comfortable with moving your full awareness into and out of each of your senses, ignoring any disturbances in the environment around you.</p>
<p>Once you have gained this simple yet profound ability of one-pointed focus on each of your five senses, combine breathing with sensory awareness. For example, as you move your full attention into your sense of sight, inhale deeply and direct the breath into the area of your third eye. On exhale, feel the area pulsate with power.</p>
<p>Do this for each of the five senses:</p>
<p>Sight-Breath</p>
<p>Touch-Breath</p>
<p>Sound-Breath</p>
<p>Smell-Breath</p>
<p>Taste-Breath</p>
<p>After a few days of this practice, you’ll notice all of your senses have been heightened.</p>
<p>This is the point where you can go deep into your senses and get really involved. You may start to feel all your senses exerting a subtle force towards your internal center – somewhere below your stomach. You might also feel a strong pull towards your core.</p>
<p>You may also notice that while breathing, your core begins to vibrate within your body. As this happens, your brainwaves are predominantly vibrating in an alpha state of consciousness and the brain’s oscillations resonate with the energy in your core.</p>
<p>Continue doing the practice and make one addition… your enlivened core.</p>
<p>Just place your attention there and notice what you notice in that area. If you have been diligent with this practice thus far, you may sense something like a rotating ball of energy in and around the naval area. Breathing into this area while your full attention is there can cause dramatic and sometimes even paranormal effects or events.</p>
<p>Continue this practice on a daily basis and within a month or so, your senses will be hyper-active and may begin to give you more information than you had access to before. Also, sensing your awakened core can unlock a pathway to your right-brain hemisphere and can give an amazing new clarity to your intuition, among other gifts.</p>
