<p>You see, happiness is something that we all want. Whatever we do, we do so because we feel we will feel better in the having of it.</p>
<p>Happiness is a state of mind that comes from within, regardless of the circumstances we are in. And only when we are happy, can we spread happiness to those around us. Being Happy is our real nature.  And anything other than that means we are not what we should be.</p>
<p>When we feel joy, ecstasy and happiness, we are in vibrational harmony with the Universe, and we open the gates to unlimited abundance.</p>
<p>Every day of our lives should be nothing short of revelry &#8211; revelry of a different kind. Not the ones we often see at drunken parties, but something that goes deeper. Much deeper.  We are talking about merry-making that comes from within. Merry-making that is felt, more than seen.</p>
<p>So why not make it our life&#8217;s goal to revel every day, and live in complete bliss and ecstasy? Why not get High on Happiness?</p>
<p>We have come up with 15 simple daily actions that you can perform today and immediately start feel good.</p>

<p>There are many life lessons that you can learn from the elderly. Take your time with them and talk to them in order to gain a better perspective on life.  You will be surprised to know so many things about them that you did not earlier know.</p>
<p>This would even give them a chance to talk to you about so many things that they wanted someone to share with.</p>

<p><strong>3. Today, indulge in your favorite sport or hobby. </strong></p>
<p>Indulging in your favorite fun activity de-stresses you and adds more fun to your life.<br />

<p>Have dinner with them. Ask your family about their day and what they did. Play with your children, and share some precious moments together.</p>
<p>Taking this simple step will help you communicate with each other more openly. And will also help bring your family closer.</p>

<p>A physical expression of your love is not something that you need to be embarrassed about. Quite to the contrary, hugging a family member tight is necessary to express your innermost feelings for them.</p>
<p>Before you leave for work today or after you return, give any one of your family members a tight hug. You will instantly find a smile creeping into your face.</p>
<p>You can try doing this when you return from work, because this will instantly take the stress off your mind and trigger the release endorphins to make you feel better. Your family member will feel good too, thanks to this sudden display of affection from your part!</p>

<p>Smiling improves your overall vitality and enhances the quality of your looks, giving you a pleasant appearance and freeing mental blocks on a social level.</p>

<p>Sleep refreshes your body, giving your mental and physical faculties the time to recuperate from the constant movement of everyday life. It also burns a small number of calories.</p>
<p>Today, you can be kind to your body and give it some extra time to recuperate. Sleep one hour earlier than usual tonight and wake up at the same time you usually wake up every morning. You will notice that your day will begin on a positive note and you will be filled with more energy to begin a new day.</p>

<p>If they ask you the reason for it, simply tell them that you are happy today!</p>
<p>Do this with different people and note their reactions. They might look puzzled and amused in the beginning but your act will elicit a smile and a warm ‘Thank You’ from them.</p>

<p>Today, just be aware of your inner state of mind. Ask yourself how you are feeling.  And if you feel a negative emotion – anger, hatred, worry, tension, stress, just any negative emotion, make a mental effort to stop this emotion.</p>
<p>You can do this by focusing on your tasks at hand, or by simply working out. You might even count till 10, or simply focus on your breathing. You might even consider meditating. Learning to control your emotions will help you become more positive and happier!</p>

<h1 style="text-align: center;">Chapter 1 Life is Difficult</h1>
<p>M. Scott Peck, MD sold over five million copies of his book, <em>The Road Less Traveled</em>. What I remember most from reading this book are the first three words: Life is difficult. Is that a positive or negative thought, or is it just a fact? We must all recognize that success does not follow the path of least resistance, that words can be substituted for other words, and that words do not have to control our mindset. It’s the thoughts we create, the visions we apply while reading these words that define our lives and put up obstacles to that success.</p>
<p>In 5 minutes, or 300 seconds, you can control your mind and your life by accepting your circumstances and by changing your attitude.</p>
<p>My wife and I were completely paralyzed after cosmetic injections. We weren’t able to move a muscle in our bodies, not even to open our eyes. The doctors and nurses weren’t sure at times if we were alive or dead. Our prognosis was grim. Would we survive, and if we did, what condition we would be in? We were expected to live our lives in wheelchairs, possibly on ventilators. They advised us to change our lives and either sell our home or make it wheelchair accessible. We were facing difficult times ahead and we needed to find a way back to life, a road to recovery, a road to success, health, and happiness. We found it once we knew God would not abandon us in our time of need. We needed faith and we needed to work harder than we had ever worked. We needed to believe more then we have ever believed. It started daily during rehab with our mindset. All people have obstacles—even the President of the United States has obstacles—but change is about turning obstacles into challenges</p>
<p>Can we, transform “life is difficult” to “life is a challenge”? Of course we can. Life is full of challenges. Life is about choices. Every day we make choices. The key is to make the right choices. You can be a winner or a loser, happy or unhappy, healthy or sick, a victor or a victim, apt or inept, willing or unwilling, strong or weak. James Allen, author of the best-selling book, <em>As A Man Thinketh</em>, said, “A person is limited only by the thoughts that he chooses.” He also stated, “The outer conditions of a person’s life will always be found to be harmoniously related to his inner state&#8230;Men do not attract that which they want, but that which they are.”</p>
<p>We must take the plunge into life. Life cannot consist of indecision and second-guessing. We must be more than average, average is defined as<em> the best of the worst and the worst of the best!</em> There is no middle ground in life. We must not be scared to be who we are or think what we think. We must not be frozen by our fears. These are the mortal enemies of spontaneous brilliance. We must not forsake our uniqueness to become a carbon copy of the Madonna’s and the Michael Jackson’s of the world. We must utilize our uniqueness, and through this uniqueness create spontaneity.</p>

<p>Living and risking are very close companions. If you sense that you’ve made a good decision, have faith and move forward. A wise man once said, “If you put everything off until you are sure of it, you will get nothing done.” You don’t have to take life the way it comes to you. You have the ability to move away or to step back. You have the ability to set goals and to make affirmations. Life is for the living, and dreaming creates reality. What if Edison didn’t see the light, Morse didn’t hear the code, or Graham didn’t hear the bell? What if the Wright brothers were wrong? What if Galileo wasn’t a night owl? What if Columbus didn’t like to sail? What if Einstein didn’t like math or didn’t have the time?</p>
<p>By converting your dreams into goals and your goals into plans, you can design your life to come to you the way you want it. You can live your life on purpose instead of by chance. Allow yourself the freedom to grow and develop the habit of saying yes to your own potential. Take the time to think of all the reasons why you can, and why you will excel at something wonderful, because there will always be plenty of people around you to tell you why you can’t. It takes just “5 minutes” to dig in to your subconscious spirit—to your soul—and transform your being. You must have a positive thought for every day—an inner core, an inner saying, a mantra. A lack of opportunity is driven by a lack of vision. Go for the opportunity!</p>

<p>The road you choose in life will only be as strong and as powerful as your attitude. How you see the world is how the world will see you. Are you a positive person? Are you willing to spend “5 minutes” per day to change your life, to give yourself the life you have always dreamed of, the life you deserve? Or are you going to do the same thing, the same way and expect a different result? You were put on this earth to do something wonderful with your life. Your job is to find out what that wonderful thing is and then throw your whole heart into doing it extremely well.</p>
<p>One day a traveler was walking along a road on his journey from one village to another. As he walked he noticed a monk tending the ground in the fields beside the road. The monk said “Good day” to the traveler, and the traveler nodded to the monk.</p>
<p>The traveler then turned to the monk and said, “Excuse me, do you mind if I ask you a question?”</p>
<p>“Not at all,” replied the monk.</p>
<p>“I am traveling from the village in the mountains to the village in the valley and I was wondering if you knew what it is like in the village in the valley?”</p>
<p>“Tell me,” said the monk, “What was your experience of the village in the mountains?”</p>
<p>“Dreadful,” replied the traveler, “to be honest I am glad to be away from there. I found the people most unwelcoming. When I first arrived I was greeted coldly. I was never made to feel part of the village no matter how hard I tried. The villagers keep very much to themselves; they don’t take kindly to strangers. So tell me, what can I expect in the village in the valley?”</p>
<p>“I am sorry to tell you,” said the monk, “but I think your experience will be much the same there”.</p>
<p>The traveler hung his head despondently and walked on.</p>
<p>Later that same day, another traveler was journeying down the same road and he also came upon the monk.</p>
<p>“I’m going to the village in the valley,” said the second traveler, “Do you know what it is like?”</p>
<p>“I do,” replied the monk “But first tell me, where have you come from?”</p>
<p>“I’ve come from the village in the mountains.”</p>
<p>“And how was that?”</p>
<p>“It was a wonderful experience. I would have stayed if I could, but I’m committed to traveling on. I felt as though I was a member of the family in the village. The elders gave me much advice, the children laughed and joked with me and people were generally kind and generous. I am sad to have left there. It will always hold special memories for me. And what of the village in the valley?” he asked again.</p>
<p>“I think you will find it much the same” replied the monk, “Good day to you”.</p>
<p>“Good day and thank you,” the traveler replied, smiled, and journeyed on.</p>
<p>In life, as the Monk revealed in the story above, your attitude will carry you from town to town, person to person, and situation to situation. Your attitude can be altered by simply altering your way of thinking. We’re all masters of our own thoughts, our own destiny. Our thoughts are the seeds to our actions, our actions are the seeds to our future. Plant your seeds of positive thinking daily and watch your dreams grow.</p>
<p>By seeing yourself the way you want to be, you can become this person. Spend “5 minutes” each day believing in yourself, believing that you can leap barriers and achieve your goals—that is the ticket to success. One of the most powerful tools for building self-confidence is visualization.</p>
<p>Once you decide what you want in life, simply visualize yourself having it. Visualization helps you use your mind and your natural creative imagination to actually manifest those things that you wish to achieve most in your life. This is a very powerful technique that for centuries has been proven to work.</p>
<p>To harness the power of visualizations you must truly believe in its amazing power to work in your life. If you don’t have true belief in your heart, you will sabotage any attempts you make toward achieving total success. With a positive mindset and a positive attitude you can bring about wonderful events in your life. However, if you call yourself stupid or say you are miserable or unlucky or use any such negative term or statement, you will begin to visualize those things and sure enough they will become true in your life. <p>Our sharing them with you is our way of putting the line in the sand and making it clear to all that we intend to live life large and out loud&#8230;</p>
<p>Our Challenge to all of you is to do the same&#8230;</p>
<p>Share with us your intentions for 2012 &#8211; in all areas of your life&#8230;</p>
<p>We will take those intentions and create a document that we can all refer back to as needed&#8230;</p>
<p>And that we can look upon a year from now when we Celebrate all that we have accomplished &#8211; together and individually&#8230;</p>

<p><strong>Our Intentions for 2012</strong></p>

<p>* I intend to be guided to attract the people, ideas and opportunities to help the Evolution Ezine triple in its readership at the very least, as  efficiently as possible, for the highest good of all.</p>
<p>* I intend to quadruple my monthly income quickly and effortlessly, or something better, doing work I feel passionate and excited about, for the highest good of all.</p>
<p><em><strong>Relationships</strong></em></p>
<p>*  I intend to strengthen my relationship with my children, celebrating them each as individuals, as I shed my limiting beliefs relative to what they should or should not be and or become.</p>
<p>*  I intend, in a way that serves the Highest and Best, to make more of who I am available to my friends and family.</p>
<p>* I intend to strengthen my relationship with me this year &#8211; staying open to what serves my highest and best good in each moment</p>

<p>* I intend to be guided to take the right action, at the right time, to help raise my personal vibration and aid my personal evolution, for the highest good of all</p>

<p>*I intend to effortlessly rediscover the full potential of my mind, and to continue to develop these abilities for the highest good of all</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Writing Your Intentions &#8211; Step by Step&#8230;..</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">* <strong>Step 1: Decide What You Want</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;">In this step  take all the time you need to decide what you want.  Understand this is not a list of the things you want to change or eliminate from your life.  Those are the things you DO NOT want.  For instance if you find yourself listing&#8230;.</p>
<p style="text-align: center; padding-left: 30px;"><em>&#8220;I don&#8217;t want to fight with my children anymore&#8221;</em></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;">What you have done is highlighted something you don&#8217;t want.  When this happens simply look at the statement and turn it around&#8230;.</p>
<p style="text-align: center; padding-left: 30px;"><em>&#8220;I have an open, honest, enjoyable relationship with my children&#8221;</em></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;">*<strong>Step 2:  Make your Intentions Specific.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;">Consider the difference between these two statements&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: center; padding-left: 30px;"><em>&#8220;I am receiving more money&#8221;</em></p>
<p style="text-align: center; padding-left: 30px;"><em>&#8220;I double my monthly income within 6 months&#8221;</em></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;">Which statement feels more powerful to you?  Enough said</p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;">*<strong>Step 3: Refine and Edit</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;">It is important that you are in alignment with your intention statements.  After writing them review them a few times and confirm that they &#8220;feel&#8221; good to you.  Edit and play with the wording until you make then yours.</p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;">And even after you are comfortable with them do not &#8220;cast them in stone&#8221;.  Intention Statements work best when they are flexible and are meant to be rewritten as you and your life change.</p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;"><strong>*Step 4: Make Room in Your Statement for Something &#8220;Better&#8221; &#8230;for the benefit of all&#8230;<br />
</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;">Always leave room in your statement for the Universe to provide you with more than you ask for, and with the best intentions for everyone (this can also help manifest your intentions much more quickly).</p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;">In our statements above we often used the phrase <em>&#8220;for the highest good of all&#8221;</em>.  <em>&#8220;This or something better, for the best intentions of all&#8221; </em>also works well &#8211; or you can use whatever phrase resonates with you.  Just leave room for the Universe to provide you an effective way for all concerned.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>*Step 5: Review Often</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left: 60px;">Once you have written your intentions keep them close and read them often.  Remind yourself that this is what you are now creating in your life &#8211; and take a few minutes to pat yourself on the back and smile. Celebrate the unfolding of your Intentions in your life even before you see their physical manifestation and you will bring them to you even quicker&#8230;</p>

I like to imagine that I’m letting go of old beliefs by dropping them into a river, and they gently drift downstream and dissolve and disappear, never to return again.</p>
<p>Come into my garden of life and plant new thoughts and ideas that are beautiful and nourishing. Life loves you and wants you to have the very best. Life wants you to have peace of mind, inner joy, confidence, and an abundance of self-worth and self-love. You deserve to feel at ease at all times with all people and to earn a good living. So let me help you plant these ideas in your new garden. You can nourish them and watch them grow into beautiful flowers and fruits that will in turn feed and nourish you all of your life.</p>

<p><strong>CHAPTER 2</strong></p>
<p><strong>What Are Affirmations?</strong></p>
<p>For those of you who aren’t familiar with affirmations and have never worked with them, I’d like to explain a little about what they are and how they work. Very simply, an affirmation is anything you say or think. A lot of what people normally say and think is quite negative and doesn’t create good experiences. You have to retrain your thinking and speaking into positive patterns if you want to heal your life.</p>
<p>An affirmation opens the door. It’s a beginning point on the path to change. In essence, you’re saying to your subconscious mind: <em>“I am taking responsibility. I am aware that there is something I can do to change.”</em> When I talk about doing affirmations, I mean consciously choosing words that will either help eliminate something from your life or help create something new in your life.</p>
<p>Every thought you think and every word you speak is an affirmation. All of your self-talk, your internal dialogue, is a stream of affirmations. You’re using affirmations every moment whether you know it or not. You’re affirming and creating your life experiences with every word and thought.</p>
<p>Your beliefs are merely habitual thinking patterns that you learned as a child. Many of them work very well for you. Other beliefs may be limiting your ability to create the very things you say you want. What you want and what you believe you deserve may be very different. You need to pay attention to your thoughts so that you can begin to eliminate the ones creating experiences you do not want in your life.</p>
<p>Please realize that every complaint is an affirmation of something you think you don’t want in your life. Every time you get angry, you’re affirming that you want more anger in your life. Every time you feel like a victim, you’re affirming that you want to continue to feel like a victim. If you feel that Life isn’t giving you what you want, then it’s certain that you will never have the goodies that Life gives to others—that is, until you change the way you think and talk.</p>
<p>You’re not a bad person for thinking the way you do. You’ve just never learned how to think and talk. People throughout the world are just now beginning to learn that thoughts create experiences. Your parents probably didn’t know this, so they couldn’t possibly teach it to you. They taught you how to look at life in the way that their parents taught them. So nobody is wrong. However, it’s time for you to wake up and begin to consciously create your life in a way that pleases and supports you. You can do it. I can do it. We all can do it—we just need to learn how. So let’s get to it.</p>
<p>Throughout this book, I’ll talk about specific topics and concerns (health, fearful emotions, critical thinking, addictions, forgiveness, work, money and prosperity, friends, love and intimacy, and aging) and give you exercises that will show you how to make positive changes in these areas.</p>
<p><strong>Creating Affirmations</strong></p>
<p>Doing affirmations is consciously choosing to think certain thoughts that will manifest positive results in the future. They create a focal point that will allow you to begin changing your thinking.</p>
<p>Affirmative statements are going beyond the reality of the present into the creation of the future through the words you use in the now. When you choose to say “I am very prosperous,” you may actually have very little money in the bank at the moment, but what you’re doing is planting seeds for future prosperity. Each time you repeat this statement, you’re reaffirming the seeds you’ve planted in the atmosphere of your mind. That’s why you want it to be a happy atmosphere. Things grow much quicker in fertile, rich soil.</p>
<p>It’s important for you to always say your affirmations in the present tense, and without contractions. (Although I use contractions throughout the running text of my books, I never use them in affirmations, since I don’t want to diminish their power.) For example, typical affirmations would start: “I have . . .” or “I am . . .”</p>
<p>If you say, “I am going to . . .” or “I will have . . . ,” then your thought stays out there in the future. The Universe takes your thoughts and words very literally and gives you what you say you want. Always.</p>
<p>This is another reason to maintain a happy mental atmosphere. It’s easier to think in positive affirmations when you feel good. Think of it this way: Every thought you think counts, so don’t waste your precious thoughts. Every positive thought brings good into your life. Every negative thought pushes good away; it keeps it just out of your reach. How many times in your life have you almost gotten something good and it seemed to be snatched away at the last moment? If you could remember what your mental atmosphere was like at those times, you’d have the answer. Too many negative thoughts create a barrier against positive affirmations.</p>
<p>If you say, <em>“I don’t want to be sick anymore,”</em> this is not an affirmation for good health. You have to state clearly what you do want: <em>“I accept perfect health now.”</em> <em>“I hate this car”</em> does not bring you a wonderful new car because you’re not being clear. Even if you do get a new car, in a short time you’ll probably hate it, because that’s what you’ve been affirming. If you want a new car, then say something like this: <em>“I have a beautiful new car that suits all of my needs.”</em></p>
<p>You’ll hear some people saying, “Life sucks!” (which is a terrible affirmation). Can you imagine what experiences that statement will attract to you? Of course, it isn’t life that sucks, it’s your thinking that sucks. That thought will help you feel terrible. And when you feel terrible, no good can come into your life.</p>
<p>Don’t waste time arguing for your limitations: poor relationships, problems, illnesses, poverty, and so on. The more you talk about the problem, the more you anchor it in place. Don’t blame others for what is seemingly wrong in your life—that’s just another waste of time. Remember, you’re under the laws of your own consciousness, your own thoughts, and you attract specific experiences to you as a result of the way you think.</p>
<p>Now, let’s deal with some specific topics&#8230;</p>

<p>&#8220;<em>Our Problems are small relative to the horror that is happening in the World &#8211; It Makes Me So Angry To Learn&#8230;&#8221;</em></p>
<p>I then listened for a few minutes as he began to list the horrors going on around him -and I realized how quickly I could add to the list.  Seems everywhere you look in the world today something horrible is taking place &#8211; from Devastating EarthQuakes to Erupting Volcanoes, to Whole Countries Facing Economic Collapse, the list goes on and on and on&#8230;</p>
<p>And I realized as I listened to him how much these stories have infiltrated our lives.  Turn on the TV to get a weather forecast and listen to the horrors of the Oil Spill off the coast of Louisiana,  turn on the computer to check your emails and find the latest on the coal mine collapse, check the kids backpack and find the list detailing the dangers of Swine Flu, overhear people talking in the SuperMarket wondering what next product will be pulled from the shelf because of Ecoli&#8230;</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s face it &#8211; anyone who expects the world to be a fearful place has lots of evidence to prove their point.</p>
<p>So &#8211; I have to ask &#8211; how does all this make you feel?  As you consider the list of reasons why the world is falling apart do you feel empowered, large, ready to make a different in the world?  Does your light shine and your smile radiate?  Are you inclined to fill you day with life enhancing activities and Random Acts of Kindness?</p>
<p>Or does it make you feel fearful and small  or angry and indignant.  Do you find yourself talking about the stories and looking to place blame and building it up in your head until you can&#8217;t help but conclude that the world is filled with big problems &#8211; much bigger than your little ones &#8211; and you should be grateful for what you got because so many have so much less..</p>
<p>I know how it makes me feel when i let myself go there&#8230;</p>
<p>And when I said as much to my friend &#8211; when I suggested that perhaps it would be better if we kept our focus on what feels good &#8211; on what we want to expand &#8211; he struggled with the idea because for him it felt like a denial of what is and his truth demands that he remains present with the what is being shown to him in the world.</p>
<p>And I could see his point.  I mean &#8211; whether we like it or not these stories are all around us &#8211; and unless we close ourselves completely from the world the stories will find us one way or another &#8211; and to deny that they exist will not keep them from infiltrating our subconscious and affecting our experience of the world.</p>
<p>As we talked an idea came to me &#8211; a way where we can all be present with the stories we are hearing in such a way that we &#8211; collectively -transform them.</p>
<p>To help make this idea clearer I want to first refer you to two posts that have been previously published in the ezine&#8230;</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Quite some time ago I published an article &#8220;<a title="Worry and Love Cannot Occupy the same Space" href="http://evolutionezine.com/worry-and-love-cannot-occupy-the-same-space-by-cyndi/" target="_blank">Worry and Love Cannot Occupy the Same Space</a>&#8220;, did you read it?  I would love to know what you think about it.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">In another article in the Ezine we introduced the concept of <a title="Virus of the Mind" href="http://evolutionezine.com/how-we-get-programmed/" target="_blank">Mind Viruses</a> &#8211; a really interesting read and an important concept &#8211; so if you aren&#8217;t familiar with it why don&#8217;t you take a quick read and then come back &#8211; I can wait for you <img src='http://evolutionezine.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>What if we look at all this talk about Natural Disasters and Terrorist Attacks and Economic Ruin as  Mind Viruses that are affecting us and &#8211; by our fear based response &#8211; are being spread.</p>
<p>And then what if we create  New Mind Viruses &#8211; Let&#8217;s Call Them &#8220;Happiness Viruses&#8221; &#8211; that we infect each other with &#8211; that are Stronger than the Fear Viruses &#8211; and that we Feed and Care For and Help Grow  and Spread- and then we &#8211; by our intention &#8211; move them into those same spaces that had been occupied by the Fear Viruses</p>
<p>Just Imagine &#8211; Within the Context of  &#8220;What You Focus on Expands&#8221; &#8211; What the World Will Be Like If We Really Make This Viral?</p>
<p>Looks Good &#8211; Right?</p>
<p>So Let&#8217;s Get Started&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>Step I</strong>: Pick the World Fear Virus You Wish to Transform &#8211; whichever one is uppermost in your mind &#8211; name it and put it aside for the moment (in other words don&#8217;t focus and feed it &#8211; just say hi)</p>
<p><strong>Step II</strong>: Get Happy <img src='http://evolutionezine.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' />  and share</p>
<p>Remember a story &#8211; an event in your life &#8211; a video you have seen &#8211; a meal you shared &#8211; that makes you feel happy. Take the time to share it in the comment section below (it will become part of the viral portion of this plan).  If its a video &#8211; watch it &#8211; if its a short story &#8211; read it &#8211; a memory &#8211; write it out for us and then take the time to really relive it &#8211; remembering the sounds, pictures and feelings until your whole being is filled with happiness.</p>
<p>Something that makes me happy &#8211; every time &#8211; <a title="Laughter is the Best Medicine" href="http://evolutionezine.com/laughter-is-the-best-medicine/" target="_blank">Laughter</a></p>
<p><strong>Step III: </strong>While remaining in the state of happiness direct your thought toward the Fear Story.  Picture the happiness flowing over and through the devastation and heartache.  See the light increase and the people involved smile.  Use the power of your imagination to change the story into one of love and happiness.  And stay with it for as long as the happiness within you remains strong (once you practice this for awhile you will find that the happiness within you begins to grow as you flow it over the story of fear &#8211; at which time stay with it for as long as you want)</p>
<p><strong>Step IV: </strong>Repeat Often &#8211; daily if you can &#8211; and switch up the happiness stories you use.  Bookmark this post and come back and read other peoples happiness stories and use those &#8211; and add more of your own.  And also let us know in what ways the Happiness Virus is transforming your own life experience.</p>
<p><strong>Step V: </strong>Spread the Virus!!! &#8211; Let&#8217;s not contain this within the confines of our small community.  Share the link  http://evolutionezine.com/happiness-virus with your friends, on twitter, on facebook &#8211; where ever and however you can.  We may not have the power of  Network TV,  Newspaper, Yahoo or Google &#8211; but we do have each other &#8211; and if everyone who reads this post shares their experience &#8211; and then gets just 3 friends to participate &#8211; who then get 3 friends &#8211; who then get&#8230;.</p>
<p>Well &#8211; then &#8211; before we know it we will have infected the World !!!</p>

<p><strong>Tip #29 &#8211; Stay up late.</strong></p>
<p>If you’re an early riser and not used to burning the midnight oil, try saving a complex task for late in the evening.  Just switching your normal routine can often be enough to energize and inspire you.</p>
<p><strong>Tip #30 &#8211; Wear a symbol of intention.</strong></p>
<p>Go through your belongings and choose an item that you can wear as a motivation symbol (or go shopping and buy something new).  It could be anything from a lucky shirt to a favorite hat, to a cherished piece of jewelry that you rarely wear.  Hold a little ceremony that designates that item as your “motivation symbol.”  State aloud that while you are wearing this item, you will always feel very motivated, very inspired, and very productive.  Then be sure to put it on every time you feel in need of some motivation.  Eventually your mind will make a connection between that item and the feelings of motivation and you’ll be able to effortlessly slip into a motivated mind-set just by putting on your motivation symbol.</p>
<p><strong>Tip #31 &#8211; Weed your garden, weed your mind.</strong></p>
<p>If you have a garden, spend 30 minutes weeding it.  As you do so, imagine also weeding out negative thoughts and procrastination from your mind.  (If you don’t have an actual garden, simply walk around your yard – you’ll probably still find plenty of weeds!  If you don’t have a yard of your own, you can instead make this a mental exercise done during meditation; it will still work just as well.)  Affirm that with every weed you pull, you are making room for motivation and inspiration to enter your life.  When you’re finished, look at the pile of weeds and feel great about removing them from your life as you dump them into the trimmings barrel or trash receptacle.  Then go about working on your tasks for the day, and notice that you feel lighter and less burdened.</p>
<p><strong>Tip #32 &#8211; Give yourself a reward.</strong></p>
<p>Make a promise to yourself that you can have a reward when you reach a certain point in your objectives.  Make the reward something you’ll really enjoy, like a new DVD or CD, or a new journal.  It doesn’t have to be expensive either, it can be as simple as a few hours to relax and do something you love.  However, be sure to follow through and really give yourself the reward when you complete what you set out to do!  Don’t fool yourself into believing it was just a trick to get you moving; your mind will remember that little deception next time.</p>
<p><strong>Tip #33 &#8211; Avoid doom and gloom.</strong></p>
<p>This tip may take a little longer to show results, but it is well worth the effort!  Beginning today, start reducing the amount of time you are exposed to negativity.  Whether that means not watching the evening news for awhile or avoiding toxic people in your life, it’s important to begin switching your focus to more positive input.  If you have to scan the headlines at a news website once a day and read only the things you feel you must know about, that’s fine.  Just avoid getting immersed in the sludge every day if you can.  Over time, this will automatically make you feel more motivated because you won’t be so weighed down by the horrible things happening in the world around you.  You can’t do much about them anyway, so why burden yourself with them?</p>
<p><strong>Tip #34 &#8211; Do a good deed.</strong></p>
<p>Avoiding doom and gloom is a good start, but you can make even greater strides if you do nice things for others as frequently as possible.  Make financial donations to charitable organizations, or volunteer some time for a worthy cause.  Even better is if you can do these things anonymously.  There is no greater feeling than doing something kind without a single possibility of compensation or recognition.  Talk about an emotional and mental high!  Just one of these acts can make you feel more motivated than you’ve felt in a long time, but if you keep doing them on a regular basis the benefits begin to accumulate and you intensify the feelings even more.</p>
<p><strong>Tip #35 &#8211; All you need is love.</strong></p>
<p>You know how love can make you feel all fluttery and happy inside?  Get those feelings to flow for the project you’re doing!  Even if you don’t love it initially, take some time to think about what the project or task means to you, and the benefits you’ll gain from it.  Let yourself begin to feel excited and emotional about it, and in no time you should be feeling ready to get moving.</p>

<p>One great way to push yourself to do more than you feel inspired to do is to create a contest for yourself!  Imagine you&#8217;re in a competition with other people, each of you trying to do more than the others.  You can even take it to the next level by not only trying to accomplish a greater amount of work, you can also focus on making your work the best it&#8217;s ever been, or doing it in the least amount of time it&#8217;s ever taken you.  This can create a feeling of urgency and fun that will keep you moving long after you ordinarily would have given up.<br />
<strong>Tip #23 &#8211; Dance.</strong></p>
<p>If you&#8217;re feeling bored or tired, turn on the tunes and boogey your lethargy away!  Sing along with the lyrics or simply move your body and get some good endorphins flowing.  You can even combine this with Tip #15 and dance while you&#8217;re cleaning and organizing.  Then you&#8217;ve got a &#8220;productive boogey!&#8221;<br />
<strong>Tip #24 &#8211; Make a to-do list.</strong></p>
<p>Sometimes confusion can cause a desire to procrastinate because your tasks seem to be too numerous and overwhelming.  To combat this, take a sheet of paper and make a detailed list of everything you want to accomplish today.  You can list them in order of priority, or categorize like tasks together.  As you review your list, think about ways you can cut the time each task might take, or shortcuts that would enable you to tackle more than one thing at a time.  In no time you should be feeling more focused and ready to begin.<br />
<strong>Tip #25 &#8211; Pray.</strong></p>
<p>If you&#8217;re the spiritual type, why not spend a few minutes connecting to your source before you begin a challenging task?  Give thanks for the opportunities in your life, and ask for the inspiration, courage and stamina to do a good job.  This can help you feel that you&#8217;ve got a powerful ally on your side and reduce any feelings of fear or loneliness.<br />
<strong>Tip #26 &#8211; Surround yourself with inspiration.</strong></p>
<p>Do you have some favorite plaques, prints or paintings that make you feel inspired?  Fill up your blank walls with them!  Visit a flea market or home décor store for visuals that lift your spirits.  Go to a stock photo site and download a few beautiful images and have them blown up into a larger size at your local photo place.  Take some of your favorite motivational quotes, enlarge the type, print and hang them up to read whenever you need a little boost.  Hanging inspiring words and images in your home and workplace can create a continuous focus on inspiration that will keep you feeling motivated no matter what you&#8217;re working on.<br />
<strong>Tip #27 &#8211; Spend time in nature.</strong></p>
<p>Sometimes just sitting quietly in a peaceful place outdoors can soothe frustration and refresh your mind and body.  Go to your favorite botanical gardens for an hour and sit quietly or walk slowly through them, letting the visual beauty stimulate your senses.  Visit a local park and watch children and dogs play, or take a trip to the beach and let the power of the ocean (or a lake) inspire you.  If you don&#8217;t have any nature spots nearby, try your local home and garden center.  Buy some new plants or flowers to brighten up your home and workspace.</p>
<p><strong>Tip #28 &#8211; Get up early.</strong></p>
<p>Getting an early start can often help you feel more motivated, especially if you&#8217;re used to sleeping in.  Set an alarm clock to get up at least one hour before you normally do, and don&#8217;t dawdle &#8211; get moving!  Take a shower, get dressed and begin immediately working on your tasks for the day.  Not only does this wake up your tired brain, you end up feeling like you&#8217;ve accomplished a lot more than you would in a typical day.</p>

<p>In order to make your home a sanctuary, you have to put in a little effort, but thankfully, it&#8217;s easier than you think.</p>
<p>Here are ten ways you can find peace in your home:</p>
<p>1. Clear the Clutter. Many people never feel at ease when they&#8217;re at home because their home is disorganized. Of course, a cluttered environment leads to a cluttered mind, and a cluttered mind is a chaotic one. If you take one weekend to clear the clutter from your home, you&#8217;ll feel an immediate difference in your peace level.</p>
<p>2. Find a Hobby. Sometimes it&#8217;s boredom that gets the best of us when we&#8217;re at home. When you have a hobby to turn to, you&#8217;ll find that it&#8217;s a lot easier to feel peaceful and fulfilled.</p>
<p>3. Turn on the music. Listening to calming music will allow you to let go of the stress of the day and enjoy your time at home. Choose whatever kind of music you like, as long as it relaxes you.</p>
<p>4. Leave your work at work. If your home is an office away from the office, how can you ever find peace? Except for the rare occasion, leave your work at work, both physically and mentally. If you work from home, work in one dedicated space. Also, never work in the same room as you sleep, otherwise, you&#8217;ll associate your bedroom as a workspace.</p>
<p>5. Create time to decompress. Do you rush home from work and immediately take on more responsibilities and chores? Instead, allow yourself even 10 or 15 minutes to relax and unwind before you begin tasks for the home. Doing so will mark a clear separation in your mind between work and home.</p>
<p>* You might want to just lie on your bed for a few minutes, read a book, or take a shower. This short time will rejuvenate and refresh you.</p>
<p>6. Be considerate. Be mindful of your family and their daily stresses as well. Too often, we take their presence and contributions for granted. Remember that the people you live with are human, too. Show your gratitude for them.</p>
<p>7. Use positive reinforcement. When someone in your family does something to contribute to the peace, be sure to praise them to let them know you appreciate what they did. This will help foster more peace in the future!</p>
<p>8. Pick your battles. You could fight a lot about little, insignificant things, but is it worth it? Instead, choose only the most important transgressions to challenge.</p>
<p>9. Allow things to roll off your back. When something isn&#8217;t a big deal, just let it go. Instead, focus on maintaining your inner peace. You&#8217;ll be glad in the long run that you decided to go this route; it makes life so much easier!</p>
<p>10. Cool off. When you&#8217;re involved in a conflict at home, give yourself some time to cool off. Doing so will help you calmly talk about your feelings and come to a resolution. Or perhaps you just may realize that the issue wasn&#8217;t as big of a deal as you first thought.</p>
