<p><strong>The energy, or aura above your home or business affects your thoughts and feelings, for better or worse.</strong> The sun and the stars shine their life sustaining light to everyone in the universe. The energy centers above your head are particularly receptive to these energies, much as a plant responds to the sun’s light. Your upper centers, or <a title="Chakras" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chakra">chakras</a>, require these energies for creativity, spiritual awareness, and a positive emotional outlook. In the same way, blocked or negative energy above the building disrupts this universal connection, and inhibits everyone’s thoughts and feelings within the building.</p>
<p><strong>When you clear the energy atmosphere above your building, you can think more clearly, and  feel more peaceful and happy.</strong> You can release negative vibrations above the building that may be  caused by:</p>
<p>- Negative thoughts from city dwellers. . . thousands, or even millions of toxic vibrations, created by people’s fears, worries, irritations, and negative expectations. These collect above a city like a thick cloud. When you clear the atmosphere above your building, you are helping cleanse the energy affecting the city, and this may help many other people, as well.</p>
<p>- Toxins in the atmosphere. . . Smog, smoke, exhaust, environmental poisons, toxins from jet contrails, and transmissions from cell phone towers and radio towers all accumulate in the atmosphere. These energies create a dense energy blockage above the building that makes the inhabitants feel separate from the universe, and trapped in their own little world. When you clear this vibration above your building, you outlook becomes more expansive and positive.</p>
<p><strong>Your focused intention can utilize step-by-step energy clearing methods to cleanse and enhance your building’s energy connection with the universe.</strong> Your imagination is your link with the world of healing, of energy awareness, of spiritual truth, and with life itself. Everything in the universe is an expression of divine consciousness. Your imagination is that personal aspect of consciousness that lets you access a deeper reality and generate transformation for yourself and others.</p>
<p>You can accomplish sky aura clearing from within your building, or from another location. You utilize focused attention, and you trust your imagination. You can do it. Let’s explore this step-by-step. . .</p>
<p><strong>The Technique Of Clearing The Energy Above Your House Or Office</strong></p>
<p>- First, imagine that you are looking at your building from a distance.</p>
<p>- Imagine that it is small, like a toy, so that you can feel at ease and in control as you work.</p>
<p>- Imagine a healing universal energy flowing in your hands. Use your imagination, because the intention is more important than any particular color or texture for the energy.</p>
<p>- Now let your hands reach above the building, and sweep any stuck energies away. You may feel that you are pretending this, and that is fine. You are pretending, and that is how your imagination accesses the world of energy. The wonderful thing about this pretending is that you can actually cleanse stuck energies above the building.</p>
<p>- Works calmly and mindfully. Do not try to cleanse the energy all at once. Sweep a layer of energy blockage away. Then sweep another layer. Let yourself notice the gradual shifts. That is the secret to addressing all energy situations.</p>
<p>- Take a moment to notice now how you feel. And notice how the building feels. The shifts may be gradual, rather than dramatic. And that is fine.</p>
<p>- If you like, continue sweeping stuck energies away from the region above the building. And periodically notice how you feel, and notice how the building feels.</p>
<p>- Now you can help the building utilize the energy shifts. With your hands, gently sweep upwards from the earth, through the building, and up into the sky.</p>
<p>- Then, sweep downwards from the sky, through the building, and into the ground.</p>
<p>- Sweep up and down, slowly and mindfully, for a while. Now, notice how you feel, and how the building feels.</p>
<p>- To fine-tune the building, use your hands to make very slow smoothing motions. Imagine that your hands are massaging the energy within the building. You are dissolving blocks, and helping the building feel smooth and peaceful. It helps to imagine that the energy texture of the building is becoming even and balanced. You can also imagine that you are a giant, standing outside of the building, and smoothing the aura of the building. This is why you had imagined the building as being as small as a toy.</p>
<p>- As you massage within and outside of the building, gently hold the intention that the building is peaceful, happy, centered, and divinely protected.</p>
<p>- To complete this, or any meditation, imagine that any energies that are not your own are comfortably releasing from you, and spiraling away from you as they easily dissolve into the universe. Breathe consciously into your body. Feel your body, mind, and soul uniting with a strong, focused, and vital feeling.</p>
<p>- Thank the building for participating, and thank the divine universe, with whatever name you use for the cosmic creator of the universe, and enjoy your experience in your newly balanced environment.</p>

Many people live their lives in a whirlpool, marred by confusion, and absent of direction on their quest to succeed. Man and woman were born to succeed. <h1 style="text-align: center;">Chapter 1 Life is Difficult</h1>
<p>M. Scott Peck, MD sold over five million copies of his book, <em>The Road Less Traveled</em>. What I remember most from reading this book are the first three words: Life is difficult. Is that a positive or negative thought, or is it just a fact? We must all recognize that success does not follow the path of least resistance, that words can be substituted for other words, and that words do not have to control our mindset. It’s the thoughts we create, the visions we apply while reading these words that define our lives and put up obstacles to that success.</p>
<p>In 5 minutes, or 300 seconds, you can control your mind and your life by accepting your circumstances and by changing your attitude.</p>
<p>My wife and I were completely paralyzed after cosmetic injections. We weren’t able to move a muscle in our bodies, not even to open our eyes. The doctors and nurses weren’t sure at times if we were alive or dead. Our prognosis was grim. Would we survive, and if we did, what condition we would be in? We were expected to live our lives in wheelchairs, possibly on ventilators. They advised us to change our lives and either sell our home or make it wheelchair accessible. We were facing difficult times ahead and we needed to find a way back to life, a road to recovery, a road to success, health, and happiness. We found it once we knew God would not abandon us in our time of need. We needed faith and we needed to work harder than we had ever worked. We needed to believe more then we have ever believed. It started daily during rehab with our mindset. All people have obstacles—even the President of the United States has obstacles—but change is about turning obstacles into challenges</p>
<p>Can we, transform “life is difficult” to “life is a challenge”? Of course we can. Life is full of challenges. Life is about choices. Every day we make choices. The key is to make the right choices. You can be a winner or a loser, happy or unhappy, healthy or sick, a victor or a victim, apt or inept, willing or unwilling, strong or weak. James Allen, author of the best-selling book, <em>As A Man Thinketh</em>, said, “A person is limited only by the thoughts that he chooses.” He also stated, “The outer conditions of a person’s life will always be found to be harmoniously related to his inner state&#8230;Men do not attract that which they want, but that which they are.”</p>
<p>We must take the plunge into life. Life cannot consist of indecision and second-guessing. We must be more than average, average is defined as<em> the best of the worst and the worst of the best!</em> There is no middle ground in life. We must not be scared to be who we are or think what we think. We must not be frozen by our fears. These are the mortal enemies of spontaneous brilliance. We must not forsake our uniqueness to become a carbon copy of the Madonna’s and the Michael Jackson’s of the world. We must utilize our uniqueness, and through this uniqueness create spontaneity.</p>
<p><em>Without action, your dreams, goals, or plans will have little meaning to the world. The dreamers are the saviors of the world. As the visible world is sustained by the invisible, so men, through all their trials and sins and sordid vocations, are nourished by the beautiful visions of their solitary dreamers. <p>Living and risking are very close companions. If you sense that you’ve made a good decision, have faith and move forward. A wise man once said, “If you put everything off until you are sure of it, you will get nothing done.” You don’t have to take life the way it comes to you. You have the ability to move away or to step back. You have the ability to set goals and to make affirmations. Life is for the living, and dreaming creates reality. What if Edison didn’t see the light, Morse didn’t hear the code, or Graham didn’t hear the bell? What if the Wright brothers were wrong? What if Galileo wasn’t a night owl? What if Columbus didn’t like to sail? What if Einstein didn’t like math or didn’t have the time?</p>
<p>By converting your dreams into goals and your goals into plans, you can design your life to come to you the way you want it. You can live your life on purpose instead of by chance. Allow yourself the freedom to grow and develop the habit of saying yes to your own potential. Take the time to think of all the reasons why you can, and why you will excel at something wonderful, because there will always be plenty of people around you to tell you why you can’t. It takes just “5 minutes” to dig in to your subconscious spirit—to your soul—and transform your being. You must have a positive thought for every day—an inner core, an inner saying, a mantra. A lack of opportunity is driven by a lack of vision. Go for the opportunity!</p>

<p>The road you choose in life will only be as strong and as powerful as your attitude. How you see the world is how the world will see you. Are you a positive person? Are you willing to spend “5 minutes” per day to change your life, to give yourself the life you have always dreamed of, the life you deserve? Or are you going to do the same thing, the same way and expect a different result? You were put on this earth to do something wonderful with your life. Your job is to find out what that wonderful thing is and then throw your whole heart into doing it extremely well.</p>
<p>One day a traveler was walking along a road on his journey from one village to another. As he walked he noticed a monk tending the ground in the fields beside the road. The monk said “Good day” to the traveler, and the traveler nodded to the monk.</p>
<p>The traveler then turned to the monk and said, “Excuse me, do you mind if I ask you a question?”</p>
<p>“Not at all,” replied the monk.</p>
<p>“I am traveling from the village in the mountains to the village in the valley and I was wondering if you knew what it is like in the village in the valley?”</p>
<p>“Tell me,” said the monk, “What was your experience of the village in the mountains?”</p>
<p>“Dreadful,” replied the traveler, “to be honest I am glad to be away from there. I found the people most unwelcoming. When I first arrived I was greeted coldly. I was never made to feel part of the village no matter how hard I tried. The villagers keep very much to themselves; they don’t take kindly to strangers. So tell me, what can I expect in the village in the valley?”</p>
<p>“I am sorry to tell you,” said the monk, “but I think your experience will be much the same there”.</p>
<p>The traveler hung his head despondently and walked on.</p>
<p>Later that same day, another traveler was journeying down the same road and he also came upon the monk.</p>
<p>“I’m going to the village in the valley,” said the second traveler, “Do you know what it is like?”</p>
<p>“I do,” replied the monk “But first tell me, where have you come from?”</p>
<p>“I’ve come from the village in the mountains.”</p>
<p>“And how was that?”</p>
<p>“It was a wonderful experience. I would have stayed if I could, but I’m committed to traveling on. I felt as though I was a member of the family in the village. The elders gave me much advice, the children laughed and joked with me and people were generally kind and generous. I am sad to have left there. It will always hold special memories for me. And what of the village in the valley?” he asked again.</p>
<p>“I think you will find it much the same” replied the monk, “Good day to you”.</p>
<p>“Good day and thank you,” the traveler replied, smiled, and journeyed on.</p>
<p>In life, as the Monk revealed in the story above, your attitude will carry you from town to town, person to person, and situation to situation. Your attitude can be altered by simply altering your way of thinking. We’re all masters of our own thoughts, our own destiny. Our thoughts are the seeds to our actions, our actions are the seeds to our future. Plant your seeds of positive thinking daily and watch your dreams grow.</p>
<p>By seeing yourself the way you want to be, you can become this person. Spend “5 minutes” each day believing in yourself, believing that you can leap barriers and achieve your goals—that is the ticket to success. One of the most powerful tools for building self-confidence is visualization.</p>
<p>Once you decide what you want in life, simply visualize yourself having it. Visualization helps you use your mind and your natural creative imagination to actually manifest those things that you wish to achieve most in your life. This is a very powerful technique that for centuries has been proven to work.</p>
<p>To harness the power of visualizations you must truly believe in its amazing power to work in your life. If you don’t have true belief in your heart, you will sabotage any attempts you make toward achieving total success. With a positive mindset and a positive attitude you can bring about wonderful events in your life. However, if you call yourself stupid or say you are miserable or unlucky or use any such negative term or statement, you will begin to visualize those things and sure enough they will become true in your life. This book will take you on a journey to success “5 minutes” at a time. James Allen said, “<em>Man’s mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allow to run wild; but whether cutivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abudance of useless weed-seeds will fall therein and will continue to produce their kind.”</em></p>
<p>What you think about, comes about. People that think positive, that compliment themselves and expect good things to occur, are more likely to develop an image in their mind to match what they say to themselves. Affirmations are positive self-talk. We all talk to ourselves, so keep your self-talk positive, reassuring, and always expect the best out of every situation in life. Use self-talk and visualization with very strong emotions to create a vivid image of your goals in life as if they were already accomplished. The very act of visualization bringing about wonderful events in your life has occurred without you even being aware. You visualized yourself walking before you ever walked, you visualized yourself falling in love, before you ever fell in love. <p><strong><em><span style="color: #800000;">… clear it, transmute it, and be free of stuck energy.</span></em></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #333333;">Persistent energy blocks could be subtle — or perhaps obvious sensations that you feel in your body, or may seem to be in your immediate surrounding space — your <a title="aura" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aura_(paranormal)"><span style="color: #333333;">aura</span></a> — as a pressure, tightness, or heaviness around you, as if you had a heavy aura. It may feel like slow or unpleasant emotions or thoughts, and in fact energy blocks often originate as stuck feelings or thoughts that are unresolved. Whatever their cause may be, now you can learn to lighten, transmute, and release the blocked energy. You can use your imagination to do each of the simple steps. Just pretend. You don’t have to visualize perfectly, or at all. Just imagine that you’re participating with each easy step…</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span style="color: #800000;">This process may be easier to do if you imagine that you are working on an image of yourself.</span></strong> <span style="color: #333333;">Imagine that someone who looks like you is sitting in front of you. You are going to assist this person now, so breathe gently into your own body, ground yourself in your feet, and feel the light of your soul shining within you…</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #333333;"><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Imagine that the palms of your hands can sense energy. </span></strong>You begin to notice flowing energy, stuck energy, warm energy, cool energy. It’s ok if you think you’re just imagining it. Imagination is an effective tool that you can benefit from, because it unites you with the deeper world where everything is energy and consciousness.</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Use your sensing palms like radar.</span></strong> Let yourself find the energy blocks in your body. You may notice a shift in various places in your body. Don’t analyze it– just notice the blocked or stuck areas. Your perceptions may be quite subtle at first, and this is ok.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Clear it. Just pretend– gently, yet mindfully, lift the energy block out of your body. </span></strong>It’s ok to pretend. You’re sane. You’re safe. Lift the energy blocks out of your body, and place them far away from your body. Just look at it, or sense the block. No judgment– just be aware of it. This non-judgmental awareness lets you shift your attitude about the energy, so that your response is not reactive or dramatic. Now you can become neutral about the energy, and this makes it easier for you to see the energy as being changeable. And that means that you can transmute and release it easily.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Transmute it. Imagine that you are slowly and confidently reaching towards the energy block. </span></strong>Rotate the block, and notice how this lightens the energy block. Keep rotating it, and notice how it dissolves and crumbles away. Turn it this way and that, as it melts into nothingness. To really lighten it, make it spin, so that it loses its form and becomes tiny particles of energy. To make this effect even stronger, affirm as you do this, “This energy is dissolving now.”</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Affirm, </span><em><span style="color: #800000;">“I return this energy to the universe,”</span><span style="color: #800000;"> as you spread the melted energy all over the universe.</span></em></strong> Imagine it. This step is easier when you relax, focus, and work gradually and deliberately. The energy becomes lighter, and you easily spread the last remaining particles all around the universe.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">This will help you integrate: Give the area where you cleared the block an energy massage, and say, </span><em><span style="color: #800000;">“You are safe, you are well, you feel good.”</span></em></strong> Your <em>“energy hands”</em> are moving just as if they are massaging that part of your body or your aura where you were clearing the block. You imagine that your energy hands are performing an energy massage, and the energy really does shift in your body and your aura. Your hands are massaging directly into the area that you are focusing upon, even though your hands are at a small distance from that area. It’s all really happening, because you gently focused your massaging energy hands upon the area of the body and aura needing integration.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Now use your massaging hands to smooth your entire body and aura. </span></strong>You are not touching your body, because you are working at a distance from your body. Your hands are moving in smooth massaging motions. You are using your palms to smooth your entire body and aura. Affirm, <em>“I am safe, balanced, and focused.”</em></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Notice the subtle shifts in body and mind, and repeat the process if needed. </span></strong>Be patient– sometimes you feel  lighter and clearer immediately, and sometimes it takes several repetitions to make a difference. Remember that any slight improvement is good. Please be patient with yourself, and give yourself credit whenever you sense any improvement, however subtle it may be.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">The technique, simplified:</span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Clear it -</span></strong> find the blocks and lift them out. Be patient, and lift them out bit by bit.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Transmute it -</span></strong> disperse the blocks and return the energy to the universe.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Integrate -</span></strong> energy massage the area where the blocks were to stabilize and integrate. Then smooth your entire aura.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Repeat as needed -</span></strong> Notice the subtle improvements with each repetition. The changes are gradual, yet real.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">When you are able to transform a situation, even if you only make small, yet gradual improvements, your confidence grows.</span></strong> Congratulate yourself. You have taken these simple, yet important steps in self-empowerment and soul wellness. Now you know that stuckness is temporary and changeable, and you realize that you can be proactive with your energy, because you have deeper abilities than you had realized.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">By the way, did you wonder why you were working on the image of yourself sitting in front of you, and yet now you feel the shifts within yourself?</span></strong> This is because the image in front of you is, in fact, your own self, and your own self already knows this. So, when you were working on the image, your actual self knew what was happening!</p>

Walking along one day he entered a panic and tried to flee at top speed. But as fast as he ran, his shadow and footsteps kept up with him and made him run all the faster, until he finally collapsed of exhaustion and died.</em></p>
<p><em> </em></p>
<p><em>If he had only sat down in the shade of a tree, he would no longer have been able to see his shadow or hear his own footsteps.</em></p>
<p>There are certain basic psychological needs we all share.</p>
<p>We all want to feel empowered and in control. To some extent, we want to be able to tame our environment, both physical and social and, to this end, we will seek to control situations and other people. This need for control runs very deep and can play out in myriad ways, some subtle and some less so: a child crying to get her own way, a wife emotionally blackmailing her husband, a boss coercing or bullying his employees. We have been conditioned to believe that control is very important and we desire to feel that we have power. A feeling of powerlessness can be psychologically devastating and so we tend to get wrapped up in all sorts of mind games, belief systems and mental trickery in order to develop a sense that we have some kind of control and in order to insulate ourselves from what we fear is a disturbing truth – that life does not move at our behest and that we are, essentially, lost.</p>
<p>We also want to feel validated – we want other people to approve of us and what we are doing. We are social creatures, of course, and the approval of the group is, from a biological point of view, important for our survival. It is also important for our social and psychological well-being. The validation and respect of others is something we seem naturally to want, and our social conditioning backs this up. Very few people are genuinely comfortable with being disliked and criticized. True ‘loners’ are rare.</p>
<p>As well as the need for control and approval, we also want to feel secure. We want to feel that we are safe and, again, this can play out in many ways – family can provide a sense of security and safety, or the accumulation of money. Parents naturally want to give their children a feeling of security and we grow up with a strong need for this. At times of great stress, many people seem to regress into a child like state, where an uncomplicated and unquestioning safety was the norm.</p>
<p>Virtually every action a person takes can be traced back to these three basic needs. Often, we are motivated by a combination of all three.</p>
<p>Change often threatens these three core needs. When we encounter change in the environment, we can feel a certain loss of control – things are moving, but not at our behest. We can suddenly come face to face to the painful and shocking possibility that things are happening <strong>to</strong> us – we can start to feel like puppets.  When it becomes apparent that other people’s views are divergent from our own and, in particular, when they directly disagree with or criticize us, our need for validation comes under threat and we can react aggressively in self-defense.</p>
<p>Usually, our need for power, validation and control gets satisfied in the form of a set of narratives – we each create stories about our own life – what it means, where we have come from and where we are going, what’s important, a set of moral and cultural values, and so on. These narratives are generally populated by things – and people – we care about. Our inner psychological landscape is a complex web of things we care deeply about, and the range of elements which make up this web is enormous – our career, our family, our health, kids, society, our country, education, the environment, freedom, … the list goes on and on.</p>
<p>But there is a problem with caring about things which strikes directly at our happiness and is, in effect, the cause of all our suffering. And it is simply this: <strong>When we care about something, we are attached to it, and attachment is suffering.</strong> This was the Buddha’s core insight. It is the second of the four <em>Noble Truths</em>, the first one being simply the observation that all life is suffering.</p>
<p>The reason that attachment causes suffering becomes clear when we meditate (that means ‘think about’ not sit in the lotus position for hours – though you can do that if you like)  on what it is we are attached to.</p>
<p>Our attachments are illusions. The truth is that we are not in control. John Parkin, in his wonderful book <em>F**k It!</em> Recounts a story about being in a toy car on a track at a fairground. The car had a wheel and, as a small child, you could have the illusion of being in control of the vehicle, but the truth is that it didn’t matter whether you were holding tightly onto the wheel, carefully navigating every bend in the track, or if you were just sitting back, letting the wheel spin. There is no control. But, far from being something to fear, this truth is greatly liberating. Do you remember, as a child, jumping in to a pool for the first time? It seemed terrifying, but when you finally let go and allowed yourself to fall, it was a wonderful, exhilarating experience. You faced a fear and discovered there was nothing there.</p>
<p>The approval of other people is just as illusory. People think what they think and their opinions are just smoke and mirrors – another illusion of something that matters. Letting go is not falling into oblivion but a chance to spread you wings and fly, free from the views of other people.</p>
<p>We are so fragile – the truth is that life is short and can be over in the blink of an eye. Although we spend so much time trying to protect ourselves from this simple fact, it is still a fact. It is still reality. There is an ancient Indian meditation where monks sit in graveyards and watch the bodies decomposing. Anthony de Mello called this a ‘wonderful meditation.’ Such a thing could not be done today – we have removed death physically far away from our day to day life – but it must have brought home the reality that ‘all flesh is grass.’</p>
<p>Like the man afraid of his own shadow, the things we are attached to are fantasies – they are not real and we can see them dissolve into nothing is only we would look at them in the right way.</p>

<p>The following is our <strong>Top 10 for 2012</strong> Intentions for the Highest and Best (&#8230;<em>let us know your best intentions and you could win a prize, keep reading&#8230;)</em></p>
<p>Our sharing them with you is our way of putting the line in the sand and making it clear to all that we intend to live life large and out loud&#8230;</p>
<p>Our Challenge to all of you is to do the same&#8230;</p>
<p>Share with us your intentions for 2012 &#8211; in all areas of your life&#8230;</p>
<p>We will take those intentions and create a document that we can all refer back to as needed&#8230;</p>
<p>And that we can look upon a year from now when we Celebrate all that we have accomplished &#8211; together and individually&#8230;</p>

<p><strong>Our Intentions for 2012</strong></p>
<p><em><strong>Business/Career/Work/Money</strong></em></p>
<p>* I intend to be guided to attract the people, ideas and opportunities to help the Evolution Ezine triple in its readership at the very least, as  efficiently as possible, for the highest good of all.</p>
<p>* I intend to quadruple my monthly income quickly and effortlessly, or something better, doing work I feel passionate and excited about, for the highest good of all.</p>
<p><em><strong>Relationships</strong></em></p>
<p>*  I intend to strengthen my relationship with my children, celebrating them each as individuals, as I shed my limiting beliefs relative to what they should or should not be and or become.</p>
<p>*  I intend, in a way that serves the Highest and Best, to make more of who I am available to my friends and family.</p>
<p>* I intend to strengthen my relationship with me this year &#8211; staying open to what serves my highest and best good in each moment</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Writing Your Intentions &#8211; Step by Step&#8230;..</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">* <strong>Step 1: Decide What You Want</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;">In this step  take all the time you need to decide what you want.  Understand this is not a list of the things you want to change or eliminate from your life.  Those are the things you DO NOT want.  For instance if you find yourself listing&#8230;.</p>
<p style="text-align: center; padding-left: 30px;"><em>&#8220;I don&#8217;t want to fight with my children anymore&#8221;</em></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;">What you have done is highlighted something you don&#8217;t want.  When this happens simply look at the statement and turn it around&#8230;.</p>
<p style="text-align: center; padding-left: 30px;"><em>&#8220;I have an open, honest, enjoyable relationship with my children&#8221;</em></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;">*<strong>Step 2:  Make your Intentions Specific.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;">Consider the difference between these two statements&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: center; padding-left: 30px;"><em>&#8220;I am receiving more money&#8221;</em></p>
<p style="text-align: center; padding-left: 30px;"><em>&#8220;I double my monthly income within 6 months&#8221;</em></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;">Which statement feels more powerful to you?  Enough said</p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;">*<strong>Step 3: Refine and Edit</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;">It is important that you are in alignment with your intention statements.  After writing them review them a few times and confirm that they &#8220;feel&#8221; good to you.  Edit and play with the wording until you make then yours.</p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;">And even after you are comfortable with them do not &#8220;cast them in stone&#8221;.  Intention Statements work best when they are flexible and are meant to be rewritten as you and your life change.</p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;"><strong>*Step 4: Make Room in Your Statement for Something &#8220;Better&#8221; &#8230;for the benefit of all&#8230;<br />
</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;">Always leave room in your statement for the Universe to provide you with more than you ask for, and with the best intentions for everyone (this can also help manifest your intentions much more quickly).</p>
<p style="text-align: left; padding-left: 60px;">In our statements above we often used the phrase <em>&#8220;for the highest good of all&#8221;</em>.  <em>&#8220;This or something better, for the best intentions of all&#8221; </em>also works well &#8211; or you can use whatever phrase resonates with you.  Just leave room for the Universe to provide you an effective way for all concerned.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>*Step 5: Review Often</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left: 60px;">Once you have written your intentions keep them close and read them often.  Remind yourself that this is what you are now creating in your life &#8211; and take a few minutes to pat yourself on the back and smile. Celebrate the unfolding of your Intentions in your life even before you see their physical manifestation and you will bring them to you even quicker&#8230;</p>

<p>Is it possible to have a compassionate dialogue with a home, a piece of land or even a business property for the highest good of all?</p>
<p>When I moved to Greece with my husband and children in 2007 I found myself in need of different management tools for our expanding Germany and UK property portfolio. I questioned myself, “What can I do from so far away when problems arise?” Problems like:</p>
<ul>
<li>The right tenant just doesn’t show up,</li>
<li>a chimney (or other house asset) has unexplainable problems causing thousands of Euros/Dollars in damage</li>
<li>long vacancy periods are depleting our savings and patience?</li>
</ul>
<p>Of course, there are established ways to deal with some property issues. Yet, something inside me was curious about whether there was a way to release and resolve a greater number of obstacles via energy approaches that could be done remotely.</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Working with the energy of a place</strong></p>
<p>My geomancy training naturally evoked this kind of questioning. Geomancy teaches the art and the science of creating harmonious “energetic” relationships with our environment – it’s the relationship of heaven to earth, spirit to matter. It’s the art and science of shifting energy for positive outcomes.</p>
<p>The world around us, our homes, places and buildings in which we live, love and work are energy formations and structures. Over the years I’ve experienced how it’s possible to become more conscious of the amazing beauty, harmony and wisdom all about us that contributes and forms the symmetry of love!</p>
<p>After much research and practical application, I developed a process which addresses the energetic and emotional blocks connected or stored up in a space. This can mean energetic blocks in your home, your rental, your workplace, your business or in any other space that is causing an undesired effect. I call this the <strong>Eartheart Matters Process</strong><strong><sup>TM</sup></strong>.</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Releasing and healing space energy</strong></p>
<p>Each case presents is own unique dynamics and issues, and the process of release and healing is specific to each situation. Yet, three things are always common to each case:</p>
<ol>
<li>The process takes place remotely (allowing for positive outcomes anywhere).</li>
<li>For the process to be most efficient, a clear intention is worked out with the client.</li>
<li>The approach is based on the interconnectedness of all that is.</li>
</ol>
<p>Places and buildings have their own energy field (consciousness) with memories and emotions, and clear ideas and wishes about what they want. Some places just want to be left alone. So getting “the lay of the land” is vital to successful outcomes. In construction projects it can be very useful to know and to respect the intention of the land. For instance, during a remote viewing of a property located on a beautiful Mediterranean island, I picked up the following communication about a pending development project!</p>
<p><em>“I welcome development with small units and parcels of land which allow vegetables and fruits to be cultivated and flowers to bloom. Beautiful but affordable homes for people with heart and goodness.”</em></p>
<p>Having this information, the developer could then make a more informed decision about how to proceed.</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Tuning In</strong></p>
<p>If you feel like meeting the spirit of your space with a heightened consciousness – in order to both extend and receive more harmony, well-being and love &#8211; here are three simple things you can do:</p>
<p>1.<strong> FIND THE LOVE SPOTS</strong> &#8211; Do you know your best energy spots in your home? They might be the places where you prefer to read, relax, meditate or that inspire you artistically. <strong>Try this:</strong> the next time you are with a group of people in your home, like your family or friends, ask each of them to choose the best spot in one particular room. What spot resonates invitingly to them? Once everybody has chosen their love spot ask them to describe what quality this spot has to offer or what energy essence he/she receives there! Don’t be surprised if there are as many love spots in the room as there are people!</p>
<p>2.    <strong>DIALOGUE WITH THE SPIRIT OF THE PLACE</strong> &#8212; Sit quietly, heart centered and with closed eyes in your favorite spot in your home. Invite the “spirit of the place” to come closer, so close that you can have a dialogue with it. Ask what you would like to know. Listen, feel, and see the answers. Trust what you get!</p>
<p>3.    <strong>ENERGY SENSE</strong>- Wherever you go, sense the energy and notice how different places make you feel. Notice your moods or if there are any body reactions! The more you practice this, the more second nature it becomes and you will be able to identify and differentiate how you resonate with different places.</p>
<p>I believe that everyone can have a compassionate relationship with the place they call home.  From my experience it just takes the heartfelt intention to do so!</p>
<p>It’s with the eyes of the heart that we see, sense and feel the underlying symmetry of love in all that is!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>The concept first occurred to me during a training in Anchorage, Alaska several years ago.</p>
<p>I was teaching how sound could be used to unwind emotion for the purpose of psychological healing. A woman, let’s call her Rose, volunteered for the session in which I would model the technique. As part of the demonstration, I asked her to focus on an area of her body that felt uncomfortable, the idea being that emotions often seem to reside in certain areas of the body.</p>
<p>She said that her kidneys were sore and painful. Rose then volunteered the information that she had just gotten out of the hospital where she had been treated for kidney failure. It was a very scary ordeal for her, as you can well imagine. She was now on dialysis and her name was on the waiting list for a kidney transplant.</p>
<p>I coached her how to move her awareness into her kidneys, and to make sounds on the exhale. I told her to imagine that the sounds were actually coming from her kidneys and to listen to her own sounds as she relaxed deeper into the exhales.</p>
<p>As weird as it may sound, it is quite easy to do, and soon she was making soft moans. Then the sounds changed. At first they sounded like an infant or young child, and then they became the desperate cries of a child in distress. All of us in the room were gripped by the intensity of the moment as we watched a grown woman in her forties crying like a terrified young girl.</p>
<p>Eventually her cries became muffled and changed into soft moans again. Reaching behind her, she touched her lower back in the area of her kidneys. Rose opened her eyes.</p>
<p>In disbelief, she looked at me. “The pain is gone,” she said. “The pain is gone!”</p>
<p>I asked her to describe her internal experience during the process, and she said that she had gone back to about two years of age. She was sitting in a high chair which she recognized from her childhood. As her voice unwound the trapped energy in her kidneys, her mind was catapulted back in time, back into a childhood memory. At that moment in her young life, her mother was living with a boyfriend. The mother had gone to work and the boy friend was supposed to take care of her. But he evidently resented that she took attention away from him. Instead of feeding her normally, he would throw the food at her. This frightened her, and it was this terror that she re-experienced during the demonstration. Somehow, the physical kidneys had benefited from the remembrance and vocal expression of this early childhood fear.</p>
<p>In our class discussion following the demonstration, someone mentioned that her brother had died of stomach cancer. The weird thing about it was that his father was very abusive to him as a child. And whenever he got drunk or angry he would kick or punch his son in the stomach telling him that he was a piece of trash.</p>
<p>Rose’s experience had triggered an “ah-ha” and the sister of the dead brother spoke through tears. She saw how her father’s rage had been repeatedly pummeled into her brother’s abdomen.</p>
<p>For her, this explained the cancer and untimely death of her brother.</p>
<p>The idea that tissues hold emotion was proposed by the Western Psychologist, Wilhelm Reich. But the idea goes much further back than that, back in fact to the ancient art of Acupuncture. The Chinese codified this system of subtle energy medicine thousands of years ago, and one of the chief concepts regards emotion. According to Acupuncture theory, different organs tend to hold different types of emotion. The lungs, for instance, tend to hold grief and sorrow, and the kidneys fear.</p>
<p>Had this woman’s childhood experience of fear weakened her kidney energy (called chi) and predisposed her to kidney failure later in her life? Or were the two unrelated? But whether directly related or not, it was interesting that re-experiencing the pain and vocalizing the fear reduced the sensation of pain and discomfort in her physical kidneys.</p>
<p>I began to look at emotional pain and its relationship to health in a new light. Now back then, in the early 90′s, allopathic medicine did not (and for the most part still does not) recognize a direct relationship between emotion and health.</p>
<p>Frankly, I think a lot of this has to do with money. Allopathic medicine is more and more a pharmaceutically based enterprise. And the big drug companies aren’t interested in funding research projects that don’t yield them a profit.</p>
<p>Despite the drug companies’ monolithic hold on medicine, however, a new area of research is taking hold. It is called Psychoneuroimmunology, or the study of how the mind affects health. Back in the early 90′s this fledgling area of medicine was called Psychoimmunology. I guess it’s a sign that the area is more respectable, now that the word is longer and harder to pronounce.</p>
<p>But whatever you call it, this field of medicine is showing some very clear links between our emotional lives and our health.</p>
<p>As the sciences of neurology and psychology join together to explore this formerly unexplored terrain of human biology, some interesting patterns are emerging.</p>
<p>One area this shows up most clearly is in the area of cancer. As you may know, cancer is reaching epidemic proportions in industrialized countries. And there is a growing body of research which shows that much of this is due to increased toxic pollution of our food, air and water. But don’t count on the Big Guys in Washington, or your state capitol for that matter, to do much about it. Money is all that seems to talk in the political arena, and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of profit in cleaning up the air and water right now.</p>
<p>I do find it interesting that the current US Oil Companies, excuse me, I mean the current US Administration, virtually wiped out decades of hard won environmental protections overnight.</p>
<p>But let me return to the topic at hand. I didn’t mean for this to be a political statement. Still, one cannot really separate public health from social and political issues. Despite their slight of hand card tricks, our political leaders cannot alter the reality that public health and the quality of our environment are intimately connected.</p>
<p>While the quality of our external environment plays heavily on our state of health, it is another type of environment I wish to discuss,</p>
<p>You cannot see it, but you can feel it. It is your emotional environment. And as a psychotherapist looking at our society, I am reminded of a line from the musical <em>The Music Man</em>—”There’s trouble in River City.”</p>
<p>I call it emotional cancer, and like cancer in general, it can be deadly. Left to its own devices, it can destroy a life. At the very least, it can psychologically cripple an individual so that he or she does not make appropriate life choices. In its more aggressive forms, it can actually disrupt cellular biology leading to physical illness.</p>
<p>Ironically, I have found that this type of emotional cancer frequently shows up in spiritual communities, regardless of their philosophical and/or religious beliefs. There is a reason for this, and I hope to talk about it in a bit. But first I’d like to put some background in place.</p>
<h2>Dangerous Meditations</h2>
<p>A friend of mine who lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico attended a lecture at a local health food store on herbal and homeopathic treatments for depression a few years ago. At the time, he was depressed himself, but was amazed to see so many people in the audience. The place was packed. And by his estimation, about 90% of those present were practicing meditators following some kind of spiritual tradition. And of these, over half were practicing Buddhists!</p>
<p>Now I don’t know about you, but in my book something is wrong here. And since I am going to be lambasting some sacred cows, let me be very precise in what I am about to say.</p>
<p>For one, I am a meditator. In fact, I have been practicing various forms of meditation for over forty years. And I am also a Buddhist. Well, actually I am a Neo-pagan Tibetan Buddhist and part-time Taoist, but I won’t go into that here. Suffice it to say this—I believe that the fundamental insights of Buddhism are an accurate description of the mystery that we call consciousness.</p>
<p>So my discomfort is not with Buddhism or with meditation in general, but rather with how they are practiced. When they are used to penetrate the authentic nature of our minds, they can be of inestimable value. But when they are used to avoid emotional truth, they are self-destructive. And I don’t care how many prostrations you do, how much incense you burn, or how long you sit on your ass in contemplation—this type of meditation does not lead to enlightenment.</p>
<p>I think the reason the lecture hall was so full of practicing meditators is that they were using meditation as a drug.</p>
<p>They discovered that they could use meditative states as a way to avoid emotional pain. Now most meditators who fall into this trap do not realize that they are necessarily avoiding emotional pain. They just know that they feel shitty if they don’t take time to meditate. It’s one thing to enjoy the vistas of mind that meditation provides. It’s another to be dependent upon it for feeling good.</p>
<p>This type of quasi-meditation produces a sedative effect on the mind, which dulls or lessens (for awhile) one’s emotional pain. It does this by altering serotonin levels in the brain. In other words, you get stoned. The brain is the master pharmacist, leaving even the most advanced drug companies in the dust.</p>
<p>The brain is capable of producing a myriad of psychoactive substances, and getting yourself stoned is quite easy once you discover how to do it. A large number of people who meditate are actually just getting stoned. Now I have no trouble with getting high, mind you, especially when it is produced by one’s own nervous system. But this is not penetrating the mystery of one’s mind. It is simply floating on a self-created samsaric high.</p>
<p>For those unfamiliar with the term samsaric, it refers to a Sanskrit word—samsara, the world of illusion. That which is not real is called samsara in Buddhism. So what I mean by that statement is that the experience of being stoned in meditation is a samsaric or illusory bliss. It is not real; it is self-created.</p>
<p>Now this is where it gets tricky. The nature of consciousness is bliss (or annanda in Sanskrit). But this type of bliss is not the same as the opiate-like high that some meditators experience. The bliss of bodhicitta (Buddha-mind) has a quality of being both expansive and clearly present. There is no avoidance of anything. All aspects of the self are present, including the emotional.</p>
<p>In Avoidance Meditation, a term I made up, one is using the opiate of brain chemistry to avoid an experience of one’s own emotional pain. This meditation will not yield anything of true value. It will just help you to avoid an authentic experience of your self.</p>
<p>It is natural for us to avoid pain. All biological organisms have this innate tendency. But when we avoid an awareness of our emotional pain or discomfort, we dim the light of self-awareness. And for anyone on the spiritual path this is an anathema.</p>
<p>Avoidance Meditation is just one way to avoid emotional awareness, albeit it a clever one. Among “spiritual people”, another popular way to avoid emotional awareness is by serving others.</p>
<h2>Serving Others to Avoid Self-awareness</h2>
<p>I told you that I was going to lambast some sacred cows in this article, so let me, once again, be clear about what I am saying. I am not saying that service to others is wrong or bad. In fact, I think that it is crucial to the spiritual path. It is a form of divine love (agape) which expresses itself as human love (filios). According to many esoteric and mystical traditions, the source of all things (call it God if you wish) can only express his/her love to us through the actions of our fellow humans. Thus we are indispensable to the divine. Without us, it cannot express its infinite love in this world.</p>
<p>But for many on the spiritual path serving others is a way to avoid awareness of their own pain and/or needs. The strategy is usually unconsciously driven, with little or no awareness of one’s hidden agenda(s). But by focusing on the needs of other people, we can easily lose ourselves and avoid awareness of our own un-met needs.</p>
<p>It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, so let me paint one for you. The central figure was a powerful healer referred to me by several of her concerned friends. She was a world famous healer and people came literally from all over the world to see her. Although she had healed many people, she herself was ill. She was experiencing many unexplained spells of exhaustion, but medical tests had revealed nothing physical.</p>
<h2>The Wounded Healer</h2>
<p>The first thing that struck me was her bearing. She was obviously a powerful woman with tremendous strength of character and a keen intellect. She was also frustrated that she had not been able to cure herself of this “thing.”</p>
<p>She had resisted her friends’ proddings to see me, but a recent incident convinced her to give it a try. At the time, she was suffering from one of her many episodes of exhaustion and fatigue. Late that night, someone came to her door. They had traveled from a very far distance to see her and their companion was in the throws of what had been diagnosed as a terminal illness. Despite being exhausted herself, Lily (not her real name) ministered to this person throughout the night and into the next day.</p>
<p>There was a turn around and the person miraculously survived. The three grateful visitors left with feelings of gratitude to this remarkable healer. Lily felt satisfied that she had served the wishes of spirit even though she had over extended herself energetically.</p>
<p>And then she hit “the wall”. Every healer who has ever given too much of themselves in a session knows what “the wall” is. It is an energetic block that affects the nervous system. Her body ached. She felt weak and feverish. She passed between the worlds for a couple of days, too weak to get out of bed to even feed herself. During this inner journey, she had an encounter with herself. She knew that if she didn’t change something in how she worked, her service to humanity would wind up killing her.</p>
<p>The plain truth of the matter was that Lily didn’t know how to say no. She felt that anyone who showed up on her door had been “sent by spirit,” and she was supposed to work with them. It didn’t matter if it was day or night. And the needs of these strangers would even take precedent over the needs of her own children. Lily’s children had voiced annoyance at this, but she just wrote it off to the annoying fact that they were teenagers.</p>
<p>I asked her what her childhood was like. “What does that have to do with it,” she asked. She distrusted therapists and their over-focus on the past.</p>
<p>“Well as strange as it may sound, I find that issues from childhood often disguise themselves later in life.”</p>
<p>“I’ve been through that stuff ad nauseam,” she said.</p>
<p>“Well just humor me for a moment,” I retorted. “I promise we won’t spend much time there. I just need a quick sketch of the family.”</p>
<p>Lily proceeded to tell me quite matter of factly that her mother had died when she was nine years old. She was the oldest of seven children and quickly took on the mothering role to her younger brothers and sisters. When they got sick she would stay up through the night caring for them. It was then that Lily discovered her healing abilities. She didn’t know how she did it, but she could put her hands on someone sick and make them feel better.</p>
<p>“So Lily, did you feel guilty about your mom dying?”</p>
<p>“What do you mean,” she asked in a challenging tone of voice.</p>
<p>“Well it seems to me that if you discovered your healing abilities after your mother died, there might be some regret that you hadn’t discovered them earlier and been able to heal your mom.”</p>
<p>“But I was nine years old when she died!” There was unmistakable anguish in Lily’s voice.</p>
<p>“I know, I know. And there was nothing you could do.” I paused to let my last words set in.</p>
<p>Lily started to sob, and a great release from thirty-some years of pent up grief and sorrow began to leave her.</p>
<p>After several minutes we began to talk further. It was becoming clear that Lily had been driven by unrecognized grief and loss around her mother. Because she had not owned or recognized her emotional pain around this, she projected it onto those people who came to see her for healing.</p>
<p>She was used to taking care of people. After all, she had started at any early age. And she was good at what she did. There was no question that Lily had helped hundreds of people.</p>
<p>But she had abandoned herself. By over-focusing on the needs of others, she had lost touch with her own needs—needs as simple as taking time off to rest.</p>
<p>The situation was exasperated by Lily’s immense spiritual development. Yes, as odd as it sounds, spiritual development does not necessarily bring psychological or physical wellness.</p>
<p>She had a profound sense of compassion for other beings and a deeply rooted desire to help them. But she did not include herself in the equation. If someone was suffering, in her mind, their needs far exceeded her needs, even the needs of her own children.</p>
<p>Now this simply doesn’t work in the world of embodied beings. As human animals we have authentic needs that must be met. If they aren’t, we will pay a price either in physical and/or mental distress.</p>
<p>Lily had not been attending to her own needs and was paying for it. She was a victim of emotional cancer.</p>
<p>Cancer occurs when cells begin multiplying out of control. Unchecked, they can eventually kill off healthy cells and eventually even kill their host.</p>
<p>Emotional cancers operate in a very similar way. An unrecognized emotional pattern begins proliferating. In this case, Lily’s pattern was taking care of others to avoid feeling the pain around her mother’s death. The problem was not that she was a healer. The problem was that she couldn’t recognize when it wasn’t appropriate for her to extend herself.</p>
<p>But under the grips of emotional cancer she didn’t have the right or the permission to take care of herself in the presence of other people’s needs. To do so would have seemed “selfish.” Not only this, but to take time for herself while others were suffering would have put her face to face with the unresolved feelings around her mother’s death.</p>
<p>The whole thing was made even more complicated by Lily’s belief in spiritual service through sacrifice. This is an old spiritual template that has been with us here on Earth for a long long time. And Lily had accepted this as part of her spirituality. For the record, I think that there are times when self-sacrifice may be a noble act, but chronic unconscious self-sacrifice is just plain stupid.</p>
<p>As Lily searched for a way to integrate her new found insights into her dilemma as a healer, Lily had to reach a more mature understanding about the needs of her self in relation to the needs of others.</p>
<p>If she was not able to integrate her needs into her view of herself and the world, her emotional cancer would eventually kill her. Now be clear here—emotional patterns do not kill directly. But they lead to behaviors that are self-destructive. If Lily did not start to take time off, she would burn out or worse, contract some type of disease.</p>
<p>In some cases, emotional cancers actually become physical cancer. Until recently, the mechanism that changed emotion into disease was not understood. But through the work of Dr. Candace Pert and the concept of neuropeptides, this mystery is being explained.</p>
<p>According to current neuropeptide theory, these highly active biochemical activators interact with receptor sites on the surface of cells. According to Dr. Pert, repressed emotions are stored in the body by means of neuropeptides, and memories are stored in neuropeptide receptors.</p>
<p>It has long been an observation of body oriented therapists that the body holds memory. And this type of memory can be stored away for years.</p>
<p>I recall demonstrating a hypnotic technique during a professional training several years ago. When I suggested that the young woman go back to an earlier time, she started to cry. When she composed herself, I asked her what had happened.</p>
<p>She said she flashed back to around seven or eight years old. She was playing softball and got hit in the face with a bat. Her father was the coach of the team and she remembers not crying after being hit. Her father told her on the way home that he was proud of her for not crying.</p>
<p>During the brief hypnotic state, she re-experienced the physical pain of being hit as if she had been hit all over again. The pain was not remembered, mind you, but physically experienced!</p>
<p>Not only this, but the realization that her father had wanted a son instead of a girl, came crashing in on her. She had tried to live up to her father’s expectations her entire life.</p>
<p>I have been in the presence of hundreds of people re-experiencing past pain in my therapy practice. And based on this twenty-some-years of observation, I would say that Dr. Pert’s theory or some form of it is bang on.</p>
<p>While most people are not particularly interested in biochemistry, and such things as the mechanisms behind disease, they are interested in staying healthy.</p>
<p>I called this article Emotional Cancer, because I believe that toxic emotions do, in fact, transform into disease. Now let me be clear here again—I do not believe that all disease is caused by negative un-owned emotion. Some of it is undoubtedly physically based. But some of it can be traced back to patterns of feeling, and this is no where more clear than with physical forms of cancer.</p>
<h2>The Psychology of Cancer</h2>
<p>As more studies are conducted on the psychology of cancer patients, some fascinating tendencies are starting to emerge.</p>
<p>For one, it has been observed by a number of psychologists that women with breast cancer often have self-sacrifice as a part of their psychological life. They also often feel like they have no right to their own needs. They take care of the needs of those around them, long before they take care of themselves. Their needs, to use a proverbial saying, have been put on “the back burner.” And many cancer patients are often self-effacing and always try to be “nice” regardless of the situation.</p>
<p>Now the immune system’s basic function is to discriminate between “self” and “non-self.” And it does this through a vast array of processes including site receptors on the surfaces of cells.</p>
<p>If a foreign object invades the body, say a virus or bacteria, the immune system sends a hoard of specialized cells, things like T-Killer cells, microphages, etc., to the site of the invasion. These micro-warriors quite simply contain the invaders and destroy them.</p>
<p>Now I believe that our emotional selves have processes similar to our immune systems. The function of emotional immunity is to also discriminate between self and non-self. If someone is toxic or abusive to us, our emotional immunity separates us from them. We have the sense of a healthy psychological autonomy. There is the recognition that we are separate beings, and that we are not obliged to accept or take in their abuse.</p>
<p>But this only occurs with a healthy emotional immune system. If it is damaged, we will accept abuse or manipulation from others. In such cases, there is no inherent sense of psychological autonomy, and we feel we have no right but to accept the abuse.</p>
<p>Now abuse can take many forms. Physical abuse is obvious, but mental or emotional abuse can often be harder to spot. But the toxic elements of abuse, whether physical, mental or emotional, are similar in that they are all destructive to emotional immunity.</p>
<p>Joan (not her real name) had been sexually abused by her father, who was ironically, a minister. He had a high profile position in a large congregation and was living, it would seem, two lives. Although the physical abuse stopped when Joan was around twelve, the emotional abuse continued. Her overbearing father controlled her every move and belittled any and all of her accomplishments.</p>
<p>By her own estimation, Joan was the perfect minister’s daughter. She always had a smile on her face, and always knew what to say to make someone feel better. When her parents weren’t home, she would often counsel parishioners in distress.</p>
<p>Throughout high school and college she was very popular with lots of friends. But something was missing. She was removed from her own feelings, and although she knew what to do in a social situation, she had no idea what to do when she was alone. She had been robbed of her sense of self, and not even being in the best sorority could make it better.</p>
<p>While at college, Joan had two un-wanted pregnancies outside of wedlock. She aborted the first child, to the horror of her parents. When she got pregnant again, she decided to keep the child. Reflecting back at her decision, Joan told me that she simply couldn’t bear the judgment of her parents a second time.</p>
<p>As far as any one could tell, Joan lived a happy life. She got married and had another child. Things were going well—on the surface, at least. Then when Joan turned forty, she started having a series of dreams. They were to haunt her for nearly three years with varying degrees and different locations, but always with the same theme.</p>
<p>A black woman would chase her. The pitch black female was the color of tar or the darkest night. She was frightening, and often bared her teeth and made hissing sounds. She always said the same thing—”Change, or I will kill you!”</p>
<p>After about three years of this, the dreams stopped. Joan, by her own estimation, had not changed much at all. And then about two years later, Joan was diagnosed with breast cancer.</p>
<p>The black woman was a messenger from the deep that Joan had disregarded. Some part, the authentic part of Joan, was angry. This is why the dark figure had bared her teeth and hissed like a snake. The messenger from the unconscious was sending a distress call. Something needed to change, or life would not be allowed to continue. The “something” that needed to change was Joan’s way of living for others rather than for herself.</p>
<p>Joan eventually succumbed to the disease despite valiant medical attempts to stop it.</p>
<p>I mentioned this case because it is a poignant example of what I call Emotional Cancer and the toll it can exact.</p>
<p>Joan’s sense of self had been violated by her father, and her emotional immunity had been damaged. At a deep emotional level she felt she had no right to make choices different from those around her. And as this Emotional Cancer proliferated, she felt increasingly disempowered. Her relationships felt more and more like spider webs. Being quite psychic, Joan reported that she could often feel the desires of those around her. She shied away from crowds; the conflicting desires were simply too much for her.</p>
<p>The irony didn’t escape Joan that she had developed cancer of the breast. She told me that over the years, she had felt like she was an unwitting mother to the world.</p>
<p>Joan wasn’t able to figure out how to reclaim her sense of self and the life that came with it. She was not able to change her inner world, and the dark figure from her unconscious came to take her.</p>
<h2>Healing from Cancer</h2>
<p>A common theme among survivors of catastrophic illness such as cancer is a shift from the needs of others to the needs of self. Such a massive turn around in psychological orientation evidently releases tremendous healing energy. Perhaps such changes stimulate the release of healing neuropeptides. But whatever the physiological mechanism, focusing on the authentic needs of the self is healing.</p>
<p>I have a friend who experienced this many years ago. She had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and told to get her affairs in order. She went home and announced to her astonished family that she was leaving them. She said that since her life was ending, she was going to do something she always wanted to—visit Japan. She took off for Tokyo and had such a good time visiting Japan and the rest of Asia, the cancer went into remission!</p>
<p><strong>Building Emotional Immunity</strong></p>
<p>It is fairly well known that we can strengthen our physical immune systems by making lifestyle changes. But it is less known that we can strengthen our emotional immune systems as well.</p>
<p>The first task is to recognize if one is suffering from a weak emotional immune system. A healthy emotional immune system is based upon having the ability to recognize one’s authentic needs (as opposed to wants) and the internal permission to take care of those needs. It also includes a clear sense of oneself as an autonomous being, separate from others.</p>
<p>Now this sometimes poses problems for people on a spiritual path. This is because from the level of the heart, we recognize that we are all One. We see that there is one life, one consciousness living through multitudinous forms. There is a natural feeling of interconnectedness with others when the heart space is activated. And from the vantage point of higher consciousness, there is no self separate from anyone else anyway.</p>
<p>And while this is true, it is also true that we have bodies that are separate from other bodies. And the innate intelligence of our biology dictates that we honor those differences. If we don’t, we will get ill. Our immune systems follow this irrevocable law of nature.</p>
<p>Our emotional immune systems also follow this law. If we don’t become aware of psychologically toxic elements and avoid them, we will become ill, either physically or emotionally.</p>
<p>I hope by now that it has become clear that Emotional Cancer is created by violating one’s sense of self. This usually occurs due to some kind of abuse. And while physical, sexual and emotional abuse are fairly recognized, there is one form of abuse that often slips by unnoticed. I call it spiritual abuse.</p>
<p>In its simplest form, spiritual abuse leads one down a path of forgetting the self. One’s needs are supplanted by an ideal that is perceived as far loftier than one’s mere self. This kind of spiritual robbery shows up in a myriad of forms and no spiritual lineage is immune to it. If you find yourself involved in a group or a teaching that denies the validity of your feelings and/or dishonors your needs, then I suggest you get “the hell out of Dodge!”</p>
<p>My reason for saying this is that the root of the word “holy” means “to make whole.” That which increases our wholeness is sacred and that which decreases our wholeness is profane. The task of re-membering oneself through the cultivation of emotional awareness is holy work.</p>
<p>Finally, the way to protect our emotional immunity is to pay attention to our needs. First, we have to give ourselves permission to recognize that we have them. And, secondly, we have to find a way to integrate our needs into the myriad demands of our daily life. This is no small task, especially in a society that seems hell bent on avoiding self-awareness.</p>
<p>There can be a lot of social pressure for one to remain unconscious around one’s authentic needs and feelings—especially in “spiritual communities.” I have found, for instance, that those who are uncomfortable with their own needs and feelings, are often uncomfortable with other people’s needs and feelings.</p>
<p>What do you do with your feelings when they run counter to those around you? What do you do when your needs are different from those around you? These are crucial questions and how you answer them will have a significant impact on your “emotional immunity.”</p>
<p>For those choosing the holy work of re-membering the self, there is no other way. One must find the means to be honest with one’s self and to accommodate one’s needs while living in a world that discourages self-awareness and honesty.</p>
<p>It’s a tough one, but it is one of the best games in town.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>I am sure Roosevelt knew the True Meaning of this iconic quotation. So why do I raise this now?</p>
<p>Well, in recent weeks, as I have shifted the focus of this Newsletter from a &#8220;Higher&#8221;, Spiritual focus, to an Experiential physical World focus.</p>
<p>As we Quicken towards the Singularity of this Cycle of Human Consciousness, it has become incumbent upon me to switch my focus from Higher Aspects of our Divine Triune Nature and Being, to the physical, Experiential Aspects of Our Triune Being.</p>
<p>As mentioned in recent weeks, if we are to be balanced and prepared for that which is to be Experienced in the context of this Great Transition of Consciousness, we simply cannot neglect any aspect of our Divinity if we are to Evolve and Progress.</p>
<p>Now whilst I much prefer to focus on the Higher, Spiritual aspects of Life, and believe me I would, I cannot and will not selectively disregard my Inner Guidance for fear that some readers might not &#8220;like to hear it&#8221;. We must remain balanced.</p>
<p>The events &#8220;taking place&#8221; in the World today are not only shaping our Personal Experience but also shaping the Collective Experience of Humanity as we conclude this current Cycle of Human Consciousness and Transition to the next Cycle.</p>
<p>We Are In This Together, for better or for worse.</p>
<p>Not only therefore must we acknowledge current events, but we must become One with these events. Any conscious effort to &#8220;reject&#8221; or &#8220;distance ourselves&#8221; from these events, is a rejection of Our Very Being, for we Are those events and they are Us.</p>
<p>The point is this. I have received messages from readers of this Newsletter for many years who have expressed distress by the recent emphasis, and in particular question why I have &#8220;been turned to the dark side of the force&#8221; by &#8220;propagating fear&#8221;.</p>
<p>Well first of all let me say I am Grateful to receive all messages such as these.</p>
<p>Second let me assure Readers that I have not been &#8220;turned&#8221; to the dark or any side.</p>
<p>I said in the final chapter of my book,<a href="http://6a007il60ay9lb3srf-7l5srzg.hop.clickbank.net/" target="_blank"> Our Ultimate Reality, Life, The Universe and Destiny of Mankind</a>, and have said in many Newsletters:</p>
<p>I know what I write is True, because I know the Source of that which I share in this Newsletter, in the book, on the website etc.</p>
<p>However, never accept anything I say as a fact simply because I wrote it. Always listen to your own Heart and Inner Guidance, and only allow that which you Feel is True and of Value on your own Spiritual Path.</p>
<p>Now let us analyse this emotion called &#8220;fear&#8221; more closely.</p>
<p>What is &#8220;fear&#8221;.</p>
<p>Fear is an emotional response invoked by an Experience that we do not understand.</p>
<p>Fear, along with uncertainty and doubt is one of the most powerful weapons that the &#8220;global elite&#8221; who would wish to control Humanity and the World have in their emotional arsenal against Humanity.</p>
<p>This &#8220;fear weapon&#8221; is invoked in numerous ways, for example through the control of money and debt, and the conditions of its distribution for basic survival needs.</p>
<p>Another very major and pervasive deployment of fear is through the medium of religions, who portray a vengeful, jealous, capricious &#8220;God&#8221;, whose &#8220;wrath&#8221; you will surely incur if you do not obey the rules set out by God&#8217;s ambassadors -- the church.</p>
<p>The RC religion for example currently emotionally controls over 1 billion people through fear and guilt. The fear is of being &#8220;sent to burn in damnation and brimstone for all eternity&#8221;. Guilt is invoked through for example the &#8220;seven deadly sins&#8221; which, should you fall foul of, requires you to &#8220;attend confessional&#8221; and pay a &#8220;penance&#8221;.</p>
<p>Another, much more insidious application of control through fear created in the last couple of decades, particularly in and by the USA, is the so called &#8220;war on terror&#8221;, which seeks to make people feel fearful and insecure so that the &#8220;controllers&#8221; can exert all manner of onerous, oppressive and invasive controls over the people.</p>
<p>For example, after &#8220;9/11&#8243;, aside from invading Afghanistan for selfish reasons, the USA enacted the &#8220;Homeland Security Act&#8221; as well as many other controls, some by &#8220;executive order&#8221;, all designed to exert increasing control over their own people.</p>
<p>The &#8220;war against terror&#8221; is totally and utterly fictitious, but is designed to control the people, and to justify further strategic imperial invasions of countries for reasons that have nothing whatsoever to do with &#8220;terrorists&#8221; or &#8220;humanitarianism&#8221;, and everything to do with regime changes to control countries for military and natural resources.</p>
<p>Also keep in Mind that the &#8220;global elite&#8221; who would seek to control the World are practicing &#8220;satanists&#8221; who feed off and draw power from the fear emotion. The more fear they can invoke in as many people as possible, the stronger they become. To put it another way, these people are &#8220;vampires&#8221; who feed voraciously on fear.</p>
<p>Now we must, if we are to progress, rise beyond not only these false contrivances, but also, most crucially, It Is Absolutely Crucial to Transcend Fear Itself.</p>
<p>Let me assure you Dear Reader that it is virtually impossible to progress Spiritually if fear can be invoked within us. Spiritual Evolution knows no fear.</p>
<p>Fear is not only of a very low Vibratory Frequency, thus pulling down overall Vibratory Frequency -- a major strategic objective of the &#8220;global elite&#8221; -- fear also implies Spiritual &#8220;imbalances&#8221; or &#8220;disconnects&#8221; that can sequester that Crucial Inner Connection and Oneness with Higher Self and With Source.</p>
<p>Why is this?</p>
<p>Well the reason is profound yet beautifully simple.</p>
<p>Every Single Human Being, and All Life, Is Divine, Infinite and Eternal Expression of Source, Fully Inclusive of The Infinite Power of Source, the same Divine, Infinite, Eternal Power that Created the Universe and All That Is.</p>
<p>Each of Us Has The Universe Of All That Is Within Us, As Us.</p>
<p>Do you believe that Source, God, is capable of fear?</p>
<p>Of course not.</p>
<p>Everything that people are fearful of is already part of us, so to be fearful of anything at all is no different to being frightened at the sight of our own shadow. We are the very Experience that we would be fearful of. Are you &#8220;scared&#8221; of your-Self?</p>
<p>Let me then state this emphatically:</p>
<p>No-thing Can Possibly Harm You Except To The Extent You Believe It Can</p>
<p>One of the most Crucial and Glorious Truths and Meaning Of Life, Is To Return To Our Source Through The Realisation And Expression Of Source. When We, During The Path Of Evolution Become Source Through Our Own Spiritual Experience, Then We Become Source Absolutely And Reunite With Source.</p>
<p>Now of course Earth is but the first step on the ladder, but nevertheless and extremely crucial one, because, just like the child in the sandbox of kindergarten who must learn to control his or her newfound abilities before being &#8220;let loose&#8221; in the outside World, so too must humans before being let loose in the Glorious and Harmonious Spheres beyond the Earth playground.</p>
<p>Now, as I mentioned previously, we are not only our physical body. We are Body, Mind and Spirit -- Consciousness -- and we cannot, if we wish to progress, selectively neglect any one aspect of our Triune Being, otherwise would be Spiritually unbalanced, and dis-harmony must surely follow -- it is absolutely inevitable.</p>
<p>As Above, So Below, As Within, So Without, said Master Hermes Trismegistus.</p>
<p>If we harbour any Inner turmoil or instability, or react emotionally to that which we see or hear, then those thoughts, feelings and emotion must be reflected and Expressed in to your physical Experience.</p>
<p>Conversely -- if we stand strong and tall, in Full Realisation of Who We Are, Living In the Moment, Pure of Mind, a Mind Like A Polished Mirror, With No Thought, Simply Observing And Allowing All That We See and Hear To Enter And Leave Our Consciousness As A Leaf Drifting By In The Wind, Then We Are &#8220;Invincible&#8221;. No-Thing Can &#8220;Harm&#8221; Us, All Things Are Possible.</p>
<p>Ask Yourself This:</p>
<p>Can you stand in the middle of a battlefield, bullets, bombs and missiles flying all around you, without thoughts, feelings or emotions, and In Joy For Who You Are, Knowing That No-Thing That Is Part Of You Can Ever Harm You?</p>
<p>If so -- excellent. If not, ask yourself why.</p>
<p>Ask yourself -- &#8220;what is it within me that makes me feel uncomfortable or fearful?&#8221;</p>
<p>It matters not what news I bring to you of the &#8220;World&#8221;, or the TV news, or what you read on the Internet -- it is all part of the Human Experience which collectively is forging the Human Mind and Spirit in preparation for the Great Transition Which All Humanity is Quickening towards Right Now.</p>
<p>I will conclude this subject then with three most Wise and Enlightened quotations from Morihei Ueshiba, who invented &#8220;Aikido&#8221;.</p>
<p>Aikido is a &#8220;Martial Art&#8221; and like most Martial Arts is not intended to be about forging a Human Being to be a &#8220;deadly weapon&#8221; but is rather about forging a Human Being Spiritually and Mentally so that mere weapons become unnecessary and irrelevant.</p>
<p>So Aikido is first and foremost a path of Spiritual and Mind Development, but which also teaches that the best form of defence is no defence, because if you respond to an attack upon your person with force and aggression, the opponent will take the Energy of that force and aggression Energy and turn it against you.</p>
<p>However, just as darkness cannot make a Light room darker, but the Light can make a dark room Lighter, Inner Peace Always Prevails Over Aggression, But Aggression Can Never Prevail Over Inner Peace.</p>
<p>It will be clear therefore that total control over Inner Thoughts, Feelings and Emotions is absolutely central to this, and most other Martial Art Disciplines.</p>
<p>Aikido also teaches that no matter how aggressive or intimidating the &#8220;opponent&#8221; is, the best and only True Form of Defence is Peace.</p>
<p>Here now are three quotations from Morihei Ueshiba:</p>
<p><em>Each Day Of A Human Life Contains Joy And Anger, Pain And Pleasure, Darkness And Light, Growth And Decay. Each Moment Is Etched With Nature&#8217;s Grand Design -- Do Not Try To Deny Or Oppose The Cosmic Order Of Things.</em></p>
<p><em>Do Not Look Upon This World With Fear And Loathing. Bravely Face Whatever The Gods Offer.</em></p>
<p><em>Life Itself Is Always A Trial. In Training You Must Test And Polish Yourself In Order To Face The Great Challenges Of Life. Transcend The Realm Of Life And Death, And Then You Will Be Able To Make Your Way Calmly And Safely Through Any Crisis That Confronts You.</em></p>
<p>These are Wise Words from a Great and Spiritual Person, and I would agree wholeheartedly with everything he said in these quotations.</p>
<p>I would like to also note that the Occupy Wall Street Movement is a Living Expression of these Principles, day after day, week after week, month after month.</p>
<p>They Live in Peace, Harmony and Service, Even In The Face Of Excessive, Unjustified and Provocative Force By The Police. This is how It Should Be. (see video below)</p>
<p>This Dear Reader Is The Power Rising Inexorably Around the World Today, And It is The Power Of Peace, Love And Transformation of Consciousness.</p>
<p>Our Collective Moment is Now.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>When we are having difficulty forgiving others, we focus on our blessings and on being grateful for what we have in our lives despite what has been done to us. This can take the sting out of any offense and make it easier for us to let go of our resentments in order to forgive.</p>
<p>When we are having difficulty forgiving others, we remind ourselves that “but for the grace of God go I,” that under other, less fortunate circumstances we might have found ourselves in desperate situations doing unworthy and unloving things to others, out of fear and a belief that they were necessary for our survival.</p>
<p>With humility, we remind ourselves that stressful circumstances can make fools and devils of us all, such that good people do bad things, and, therefore, that it’s best to put our harsh judge’s robe in the closet and don a cloak of graciousness, compassion and mercy instead.</p>
<p>When we try to walk in another man’s shoes, to get a sense of the difficulties he’s endured, how he’s been damaged in his life, and how he’s been programmed from childhood experiences to take and not give, to attack and not love, and to withhold and not share, it provides us with the opportunity to see the offender in a more compassionate light, which then enables us to turn down the intensity of our anger over what has been done to us, to be more empathetic, and to apply the principles of forgiveness.</p>
<p>For example, if we know someone was abused as a child, that can make it easier for us to understand their bad behavior and forgive it. Along the same lines, if we’re aware of the current circumstances in the offender’s life, such as being unemployed, having no savings, about to be evicted, with a wife and two children to care for, that can make it easier for us to understand why they behaved badly, and to forgive them.</p>
<p>It doesn’t mean we’re condoning or excusing their behavior, or suggesting they not take responsibility for their bad actions. It just means that we’re choosing to see them from a more sympathetic viewpoint, and to let go of our critical judgments.</p>
<p>It can help us to forgive others if we perceive offenders as part of God, despite their ungodly behaviors. Martin Luther King, Jr., once said, “We love men not because we like them or because their ways appeal to us or even because they possess some type of divine spark; we love every man because God loves him.”</p>
<p>If we don’t believe in God, we use other labels and tools to see the humanity in people despite the errors of their ways.</p>
<p>It’s easier to forgive others if we can find some meaning, some wisdom, some benefit born of the assault and the suffering we experienced. If we can do this, if we can find a way to learn and grow from what has happened to us, if we can discover a blessing in disguise, our perspective changes, we feel less angry, less victimized and damaged, and it gives us permission, so to speak, to not resist extending our compassion and forgiveness.</p>
