<p>If there&#8217;s something you want, but can&#8217;t seem to get, why not&#8230;?</p>
<p>If you always do what you&#8217;ve always done, you&#8217;ll always get what you&#8217;ve always gotten.</p>
<p>In order to get different results, you need to do different things &#8211; or, in some cases, do things differently.</p>
<p>But  let&#8217;s face it, trying to change what you do without changing how you  see yourself is difficult, if not impossible. 80-90% of our behavior is  unconscious. If you are not seeing yourself as successful, you will not  naturally take successful action. You can try to consciously compel  yourself to do something not congruent with your self-identity&#8230; but  only 10-20% of the time. Then you&#8217;ll go back to your old ways of  thinking and feeling, which lead to your old actions, which lead to the  same old results.</p>
<p>Perhaps you know what I&#8217;m talking about&#8230;?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>It&#8217;s a paradox of the true spiritual path, but the more conscious we become of what limits us, the more limitless becomes our life. So, take as long as you need to understand the lesson that follows. It&#8217;s intended to shed much needed light on one of the more deceptive dark states that stands between us and the freedom for which we long.</p>
<p>The only purpose discouraged feelings serve is to keep your thoughts on what you can&#8217;t do. And with your attention fixed in this fashion &#8211; on what seems impossible &#8211; there&#8217;s no room for discovering what is possible &#8211; for what you can do.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s cover this important discovery one more time.</p>
<p>The only thing that feelings of discouragement do is keep you busy doing nothing except feeling sorry for yourself, which is the perfect guarantee that your sorry situation will remain hopelessly the same. Enough is enough! You don&#8217;t have to put up with one more discouraging moment, let alone a life filled with its darkness. There is another choice you can learn to make besides falling into those familiar feelings of failure. Use this next higher idea to help you start thinking about those old discouragements in a new way.</p>
<p>Whenever we suffer over what we aren&#8217;t able to do, have, win, or work through, our attention in these moments is riveted on our own thoughts, thoughts that are busy telling us we&#8217;re somehow stuck. Maybe you can recognize some of these heavy-hearted inner voices. They say in one way or another . . .</p>
<p>- &#8220;I&#8217;ll never get out of this mess.&#8221;<br />
-  &#8220;I&#8217;m too stupid to learn these things.&#8221;<br />
- &#8220;I must have done something terrible to deserve this!&#8221;<br />
- &#8220;There&#8217;s no point in going any farther.&#8221;<br />
- &#8220;This is definitely hopeless.&#8221;</p>
<p>Now, on the surface of things, these all-too-familiar whispers of defeat &#8211; these dark voices that reach our inner ears, speaking to us with our own voice &#8211; seem to be genuinely concerned with our unfortunate condition. But a deeper look into this covert operation reveals these troubled thoughts are up to something totally different. There is an unseen &#8220;conspiracy of limitation&#8221; taking place within our own consciousness! Follow the next four ideas all the way to their stunning conclusion. They show us that self-illumination and self-liberation are one and the same power.</p>
<p>1. The more these gloomy voices talk to us, the more discouraged we feel.</p>
<p>2. The more discouraged we feel, the more certain we are that we have no other choice but to feel that way.</p>
<p>3. The more convinced we are that we have no choice, the less choice we have.</p>
<p>4. The act of identifying with this dark inner dialogue actually produces the dead end we fear!</p>
<p>We end up being able to go no farther with our wish for broader personal horizons because, unbeknownst to ourselves, we now believe that there&#8217;s no way to get past where we now perceive ourselves to be limited or tied down. The key idea in this part of our investigation lies within the word perceive, because &#8211; for the purposes of this exercise &#8211; the word perceive rhymes with deceive. And that&#8217;s precisely what this faulty perception is: a self-deception. Here&#8217;s proof.</p>
<p>There are no dead ends in real life. You must prove this bright fact to yourself, and here&#8217;s a good place to start: in any given moment, there is always something higher you can do with your life than sit there and suffer over what you think you can&#8217;t have, or do, or be. Why wallow when a small amount of interior work will act to change your reality?</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s one example of a new and higher inner action to take when faced with the presence of any discouraging inner state: See that the size of the discouragement you feel is directly proportional to the size of your insistence that life conform to your demands. Then, having verified this truth for yourself, dare to quietly drop that self-defeating demand.</p>
<p>The first time you bring such a light to bear on any discouraged thought or feeling, it will fade from view &#8211; much as shadows do when the sun reaches its mid-day zenith. Their departure leaves you with fresh new energies that not only grant you &#8220;new eyes&#8221; through which to see how you can proceed with your wish, but that also grant you the strength to begin the next leg of your quest.</p>
<p>For instance, maybe you&#8217;ve felt discouraged because you wanted to learn something new &#8211; a higher skill or a difficult lesson &#8211; but felt sure that certain limitations of yours placed this possibility beyond your abilities. And so you resigned yourself to feeling discouraged. While this kind of self-defeating behavior is commonly accepted as natural, it&#8217;s totally unnecessary. You can do something much higher!</p>
<p>Instead of falling into those familiar feelings of futility over yourself, work to deliberately drop those discourage-filled<br />
thoughts that are telling you the limit of your present view is the limit of your possibilities. Who you have been matters only to those dark states that want you to remain that way so that they can continue to rule the day. Refuse to dwell in discouragement over who your own thoughts are telling you you&#8217;ll never be. Just get started working on who, and what, you are right now!</p>
<p>In other words, do what&#8217;s in your power and refuse to be discouraged about anything else. And keep repeating this new conscious action one step at a time, over and over again. It is in your power to learn whatever it takes &#8211; one lesson at a time &#8211; and make it all the way to your designated goal.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s one last special thought to help summarize this important life lesson in liberating ourselves from the limitations of discouragement:</p>
<p>Any conversation you permit yourself to have with dark and discouraging thoughts guarantees you&#8217;ll wind up with a dozen good reasons for why you feel so dark and discouraged. When it comes to any negative thought, the first word you have with it is the same as giving it the last word with you.</p>
<p>Practice these higher lessons in self-liberation until you&#8217;re free of all feelings of futility. You&#8217;ll soon see how this new action gives you the last laugh on discouragement.</p>

<p>That is the way 80% of Australians describe their lives &#8230; and another 10% won&#8217;t admit it. Less than an estimated 10% of our citizens consider their lifestyle acceptable and pleasant. &#8211; That is &#8211; only one in ten people are satisfied with their lot in life. Some consider it exciting &#8211; others merely consider it as non-boring!</p>
<p>And what is it that causes this 10% of the population personal satisfaction?</p>
<p>Simple &#8230;..they are prepared to live outside their own personal comfort zone. If you do NOTHING to stretch your talents, thinking patterns, knowledge, experience, and inter-action with others, you are living INSIDE your own comfort zone. You are living on your own personal Island&#8230;.welcome to boredom!!</p>
<p>But, if you are prepared to push yourself slightly, life takes on a new meaning. Take the true example of a lady whose husband died and left her all alone in the world. Her kids were grown up and were involved in their own life. She had made few outside friends as she had been totally involved in her husbands work. For three years she virtually did nothing socially but suddenly she &#8220;flicked&#8221; into a different mind-state. She joined a dance club and an up-market singles organization. Now, 12 months later, she is an excellent dancer and is also secretary of the singles club. But most importantly, she is enjoying the life that used to pass her by. She pushed herself outside the security of her personal comfort zone &#8211; she took the first step to a better life!</p>
<p>The simplest way to &#8220;break out&#8221; is to join a club &#8211; any club &#8211; but obviously one that appeals to you. Clubs are basically groups of like-minded people who do things that they would not do if left to their own devices. Make sense?? Virtually all clubs have a couple of dynamic members who DO things. Quite often these are the same people who initially formed the club. These people &#8220;push&#8221; others along with their enthusiasm. The net result is that you do things you wouldn&#8217;t normally do. If you don&#8217;t want to join a group like this but you want to extend yourself personally, then the simplest way is to set a few personal goals which push you outside your aura of comfort.</p>
<p>For example, if you feel uncomfortable driving your car in heavy traffic and big cities, take a few days off and do just that! Push yourself. If you are a shy, nervous type and want to gain massive dollops of self confidence very quickly &#8211; take a hot-air balloon ride, or approach a rappelling club for a trial rope descent down a 2Oft cliff face, or take a ride on the back of a commercial Harley Davidson motor bike, or take a helicopter flight, or, if you&#8217;re really daring do a tandem parachute jump. Some of these ideas might sound a bit radical (or maybe a bit tame!) but if you&#8217;ve never been involved in anything like this before it will give you such a giant &#8220;buzz&#8221; you will remember it for years.. AND &#8230;. you will feel really good about yourself.</p>
<p>Let me give you a personal example of what I mean: Many years ago I did a trading/exchange deal which left me with a number of small lower priced items, one of which was a fairly old jet ski. Now I was NOT a good swimmer and felt very nervous if I got out of my depth in water, so the idea of falling off the ski in 2Oft of water was somewhat daunting. However I donned the life-jacket and started the engine. I was decidedly nervous, not about the ski, but about the water.</p>
<p>After a couple of weeks it suddenly dawned on me that I was not only staying upright on the machine (it was one of those stand-up models) without any fear but I had occasionally forgotten to put my life jacket on! In view of the fact I was being &#8220;dumped&#8221; in the water regularly I was rather amazed that my fear had been so easily overcome! And the funny thing was I didn&#8217;t notice it happening &#8211; it sort of crept up subconsciously! Shortly after that I took up scuba diving &#8211; something I&#8217;d always been keen on but my nervousness of the water deterred me.</p>
<p>Seeing I&#8217;ve mentioned all this, I may as well tell you about another experience I had many, many years ago. I&#8217;d always had this urge to do a parachute jump, and because my parents were dead against, I went ahead and did it! And, it was so totally amazing that skydiving became my weekend relaxation for nearly 10 years. Which is even more surprising &#8211; because I was terrified of heights. Let me just say that with skydiving there is virtually NO sensation of height or falling &#8211; the overall sensation is one of floating! (And you can&#8217;t drown!)</p>
<p>These are classic examples of facing your fears &#8230;. step by step.</p>
<p>What I&#8217;m saying is that if you want to improve your satisfaction in life, tackle those things you wouldn&#8217;t normally do! You don&#8217;t have to go &#8220;overboard&#8221; &#8211; just tackle things slowly and deliberately. Each achievement, no matter how minor, will give you an inner glow of satisfaction. If you don&#8217;t continually step outside your security zone, things will become mundane! And the interesting thing is that as you join into an increasing number of outside activities, you will meet more and more like minded people &#8211; who will carry you along with their enthusiasm.</p>
<p>Be aware thought, that when you intentionally embark on &#8220;pushing&#8221; your comfort zone, you will receive quite a lot of implied criticism from well meaning &#8211; but boring &#8211; friends. You may have to leave them behind as you develop a new range of contacts! It is a fact that your immediate circle of friends are probably all inside your current comfort zone.</p>
<p>New, as yet undiscovered friends…. are not! So, push yourself to look for them. Once you start on this course of action, it&#8217;s a lot easier than it looks!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>At this time in the evolution of our planet’s consciousness, I find that I and those around me are being challenged and called upon to heal our primary blocks to expressing and expanding our authentic being-ness, our true brilliance.</p>
<p>This is showing up as clients and friends dealing with issues around three primary areas.</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>How do I keep my heart open</strong>? The challenge to keeping an open heart is showing up in relationships as dashed expectations, judgment of others, and not feeling received or having one’s best intentions understood. At these times the (ego) instinct is to close our hearts for protection. We are also challenged to keep saying “Yes” to the universe instead of shutting down by world events and circumstances and by other people’s perceptions of these “scary” realities. First, knowing that our brains are wired to over-react is helpful. From that knowing we can then choose how we want to be in the world this minute and then the next. We may not be able to shut off our “buttons” completely but we can spend less and less time in reaction and more time being in purpose.</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li><strong>How do I stand in my true power?</strong> This challenge shows up related to feelings of one’s value and worthiness. Do you feel your value no matter who you interact with and no matter how society evaluates worth? Old standards of traditional value just don’t fit anymore as many people are striking out on pioneering paths of individual purpose and meaning. <strong>This worthy shift is about defining value from soul consciousness instead of social consciousness</strong>. Being clear of your personal definitions of value helps. Also, examining one’s limiting beliefs can effectively open pathways to understanding, knowing and transformation in this area.</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li><strong>3. </strong><strong>How do I really love myself?</strong> This is directly related to your awareness of how you see yourself, think about yourself, feel about yourself, and how much you appreciate what you have to offer. So often we are at war with ourselves on every front: with our bodies, our emotions, our thinking, and our ability to take action on our soul-directed dreams. Loving yourself starts with knowing how you dis yourself and then choosing to relate with more kindness, encouragement and affection. Totally the hardest thing you may need to shift and the one that makes the most difference to your sense of abundance and wellbeing.</li>
</ol>
<p>Each of these challenges is an opportunity to get off the roller coaster of rising and falling emotions that correspond to factors outside oneself.</p>
<p>Each of these challenges is a reminder that you can make choices and decisions in each moment to stay on track in the expansion of your true self. You know your brilliance is broadcast out into the universe when in each moment:</p>
<ul>
<li>You trust that the universe is a safe and supportive place</li>
<li>You      bask in the beauty of nature and feel your connection to everything around you</li>
<li>You      approach life as a remarkable learning opportunity</li>
<li>You      appreciate the wonder that your body is and all it allows you to do</li>
<li>You      create and innovate as you’re inspired to</li>
<li>You      bring facets of soul into physical manifestation through your work and leisure activities</li>
<li>You      show up in life as a vehicle for kindness, compassion and unconditional love for yourself and others</li>
<li>You      speak your truth</li>
<li>You      pay attention to and follow your intuition</li>
<li>You      look for and see the miracles in life, and point them out to others</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Want Exercise</strong></p>
<p>To identify an area that may be blocked for you try this: Think of the messages that you received around “want.” Messages like, “What do you have to complain about, you want for nothing.” Part of our socializing as humans is around wanting: wanting more, wanting for something we can’t have, etc. This often contributes to our sense of lack. By first identifying your own programming you can then choose to reboot your brain and start believing differently.</p>
<p>Secondly, list all the ways in which you are FULL or list all the ways in which you choose fullness. You may choose to list FULL qualities like: trust, love, compassion, and acceptance. You could choose to be FULL in…heart, in creativity, in action. You can choose to feel your FULL vitality, excitement, heart, and radiance. The main point is to express the fullness of you and to affirm that you are perfectly abundant right now.</p>
<p>You are brilliance no matter what. You are light and your life is a vehicle for that light. Have confidence that you are always evolving toward your brightest expression of that light.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>Most of us think we are excellent authorities on ourselves and what motivates us to behave the way we do. I’m sure you think you make good decisions based on sound logic. You probably also think you know what’s best for your body. Well, I’m here to tell you today that you are wrong, wrong, wrong. Our bodies and minds and how they are connected to the universe is one the biggest mysteries known to man and just to let you in on the vastness of this mystery, I am giving you a couple of samples. Enjoy.</p>

<h3>1. You Don’t Really make Decisions Based on Logic</h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: normal;">Despite the fact that we like to think of ourselves as intellgent rational beings, the truth is that we don’t really make decisions based on rationality at all.</span></p>
<p>In fact, scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig  used brain scanners to investigate what happens in the human brain just before a decision is made and found that they could predict from brain signals which option participants would take up to seven seconds before they consciously made their decision.</p>
<p>And many neuroscientists such as Anthony Cashmore, Professor of Biology at the University of Pennsylvania, claim that the concept of free will is an illusion.</p>
<p>Sounds creepy? I thought you’d like that.</p>
<p>And here’s another kicker: by the time your conscious mind has made the decision (usually after hours of analysing and deliberation), your  sub-conscious had already made it long before and tried to express it to you  via your body and feelings. But you just weren’t listening stupid!</p>
<p>So if you are having trouble making decisions, there’s a good chance that you are being too rational. Slow down, do some meditation and contemplate how you feel about something rather than what you think about it. Do you feel drawn to one particular outcome or person? Then that’s the right one.</p>

<h3>2. Your Body Can Think For Itself</h3>
<p>As you already know, your body experiences reality via the five physical senses with our brain (objective mind) acting as the control room for this. No surprises here, then. But wait! there’s more. We also have what is known as a subjective mind, which has absolute control over all of your internal functions. In fact, it knows exactly at what rate our heartbeat needs to be, when we need to sweat, sneeze and take part in all sorts of other nasty unpleasantries in order to maintain optimal health. It encompasses your whole body, and when not opposed in any way, (i.e. negative thoughts and beliefs about your body infiltrating your system), it regulates your whole body in complete harmony before you have even had time to think about it.</p>
<p>You have all experienced physical sensations such as  sweaty palms, nervous twitches or tightness in the stomach when you were nervous about, say, going on a date or going for a job interview. Those were all physical changes that came in response to your emotions and triggered an appropriate physical reaction via your sub-conscious.</p>
<p>It’s really important to understand this as this also explains things like why a tumor starts to grow rapidly if the patient is always preoccupied with worry and fear about it.</p>
<p>So it’s not really the apple a day which keeps the doctor away. It’s more likely to be a good session of deep meditation that explains his or her absence.</p>

<h3>3. Your Five-Year-Old Self Controls Most of Your Thought Processes</h3>
<p><span style="border-collapse: collapse; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 1px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 1px; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; line-height: normal; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p>When we started out life as a kid, it was kind of like driving a car on a windy road. When life threw us challenges that our child-brain wasn’t able to understand or deal with (by challenges, I mean things that simply felt bad), we had no other option but to try to avoid them. Sounds logical, doesn’t it, I mean what else is a 5-year old supposed to do?</p>
<p>But while we were avoiding these potholes, we inadvertently created neural pathways in our brains which provided the blueprint for how we were going to deal with the same problem in the future. But we have since grown up and now we process things via our logical thought process, right?</p>
<p>Wrong!</p>
<p>What we have collected over the years is a veritable treasure trove of judgements, opinions, avoidance strategies, and just plain unproductive thoughts and beliefs stored deep down in there which are no longer serving you. And just like the driver who likes to drive on autopilot, taking the path of least resistance, we keep finding ourselves continuing down the same well-worn pathways in our minds, which means we keep on running into the same problems and situations in our lives.</p>
<p>Have you ever thought about why you avoid doing things that you really want to do. Maybe you think that you won’t be good at them and this will attract criticism from others (wouldn’t have anything to do with the time your art teacher at school criticised you because your drawing wasn’t good enough, would it?). I could give you a whole bunch of examples here but I’m sure you get the picture.</p>
<h3>4. You Actually Are Prejudiced</h3>
<p>So you think you’re not racist, sexist or prejudiced in any way? Would you be happy to put yourself to the test in order to find out?  If so, click on this link to access what is called the <a href="https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/demo/selectatest.html">‘Project Implicit Association Test’</a></p>
<p>to find out how much hidden bias you have deep in your sub-conscious.</p>
<p>These tests were developed by psychologists at Harvard University, the University of Virginia and the University of Washington and their aim is to challenge the notion that most of us well-meaning, politically-correct people have of ourselves that we genuinely believe that everyone is the same in our eyes.</p>
<p>Now I’m not going to discuss my own results here because I’m a little embarrassed about them, but it does prove one thing to me; my sub-conscious does contain a whole lot of outmoded conditioning and I’m due for an operating system upgrade really soon.</p>
<p>So why do we have these nasty thoughts, anyway?</p>
<p>Again, this all comes back to things we learned as a child. If we grew up in families that operated under limited belief systems (and let’s face it, that’s nearly all of us), this affects our beliefs now. An even bigger culprit is media and television, which literally bombards us with subliminal messages. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>According to Princeton Anomalies Research Program or (PEARS), which has been collecting  research for over twenty three years., PEARS suggest that if we have one thought every fifteen seconds, and sleep for approximately eight hours every evening, that would amount to 240 thoughts per minute, or 230,000 per day. We think that every emotion or feeling can be controlled or compartmentalized.  Interesting enough, Sigmund Freud once said: “<em>The most complicated achievements of thought are possible without the assistance of consciousness</em>.</p>
<p>Most of us have heard of the placebo affect, but did you know that there is also something called the ‘nocebo’ affect, meaning ill effects caused by a belief or suggestion that something is harmful. Therefore, it is imperative that we understand the direct correlation between our thoughts, and our physical health. Our cells have the ability to hear our thoughts through antennas or receptors and they respond accordingly. Their function is either to thrive, or to retreat and protect their community. If we are constantly bombarding our body with negativity, stress, anxiety, our cells have no other choice but to protect themselves from the chemical reactions that are occurring. The determination of either growth or protection in the multicellular community controlled by the central nervous system. This is how it works.</p>
<p>The central nervous system observes the environmental signal, deciphering them in order to relay the appropriate reaction. Our body actually has two individual protection systems, one being the HPA axis, (Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Adrenal Axis) which gathers protection against external threats. It remains dormant until a threat is perceived at which time it engages the pituitary gland (or master gland) responsible for assembling fifty trillion cells to contend with the possible threat. Then hypothalamus discharges a cortisone releasing factor (CRF), which proceeds to the pituitary gland, allowing the pituitary cells to secrete a hormone releasing adrenocorticotropic hormones (ACTH) into the blood system, and the flight or flight system is activated. This inhibits our immune system from working properly as the adrenal system will determine that survival is far more important than an illness.</p>
<p>This response is necessary if we are in a life threatening situation, but nowadays, our bodies are responding in this matter from the time we awake, until we go to bed. We are in a constant state of emotional distress, rushing around, listening to frightening information on the news, fighting traffic, stressed out at work or home etc. When does our body have time to decompress? When this goes on day after day, week after week, it is no wonder that we have so much illness and dis-ease in our society. The use of anti-depressants are increasing, alcohol and drug use are on the rise, as a way of ‘escaping’ from our perception of society. But the beauty is that it is only a perception and perceptions can be changed. We once believed that our family history was a major determining factor in our health. But we now know that it only plays a small part in our genetic makeup thanks to the science of Epigenetics.</p>
<p>The word “Epi” is derived from the Greek meaning ‘above’ so the study of Epigenetics is the study of ‘control above the genes’. Recent findings reveal that genes are not entirely controlled by our DNA blueprint as previously believed, but can be modified by environmental factors such as stress, nutrition, and last but not least emotions. These revisions can and do alter the genetic profile without altering their basic DNA blueprint. Epigenetic science theorizes that there are two mechanisms in which we pass on hereditary sequences. One is nature and the other is nurture, which would include the environment in the equation of genetic influence. We now have evidence to demonstrate that cells require cooperation in order to thrive as well as survive in a communal environment. Cells are intelligent and recognize that collaboration within the community is the key to their continued existence. The avoidance of toxic or antagonistic surroundings is paramount to their continuation.</p>
<p>This is why understanding why our thoughts, feelings and emotions are paramount to not only our emotional well being, but vitally important to our physical health as well.  If we live in fear, anger, hurt, or any other negative emotional state, our physical body is affected on a cellular level as well. Changing our perception of any given situation is key to altering the pattern of our life.</p>
<p>There are two types of thoughts, supportive and non-supportive. Your self concept is based on how you speak to yourself, consciously and subconsciously. I often convey to clients: “<em>Be careful what you are thinking, you cells are listening.</em>” because in a sense the receptors act as ears. They are vibrationally eavesdropping on our emotions.</p>
<p>Would we be more attentive of our thoughts and words if they manifested before our eyes? Studies show that our body is listening and responding according to our thoughts, feeling and emotions. Consequences in our life are directly affected by the communication between our conscious and subconscious mind.</p>
<p>When we find ourselves in a toxic environment, or experience negativity, consciously we may persuade ourselves that we can control the situation and are fine. However, if we do not <em>believe</em> that we are safe, our cells will respond according. If this belief continues for an extended period of time, the cells and DNA will adapt and change according to the misperception of the subconscious images. These changes eventually manifest as physical and mental disease in the body. As signals are sent from the environment, positive or negative, the cells respond in like. I compare the cellular response in our body to a genie in a bottle: “Your<em> wish is my command</em>.”</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>There is no such thing as failure – the only REAL failure is a lack of action.</p>
<p>We all have goals and dreams in life, and when we are on our own, when we are planning our lives they seem feasible – ambitious perhaps, but we tell ourselves that with hard work we can achieve them.</p>
<p>The next day however when we get into the real world and it is time to take action they seem a lot more difficult.</p>
<p>It is easy to sit at home and plan, and imagine yourself taking action, but when we get out into the real world there are many things which might hold us back.</p>
<p>Often these are just excuses we tell ourselves, to cushion ourselves from the reality that we just didn&#8217;t take action.</p>
<p>The reasons vary – from worrying what people will think of us, to not knowing exactly what to do, or pretending that the circumstances are not exactly right&#8230; All of these reasons when you break them down usually come to a fear of failure.</p>
<p>We are a proud race, we don&#8217;t like to admit defeat, or admit that we can&#8217;t do something.</p>
<p>We often protect our ego&#8217;s at all costs, and sometimes we trick ourselves to do this, subconsciously reasoning that  if we don&#8217;t try we don&#8217;t fail, we will be successful as soon as we try tomorrow, or next time the circumstances are right&#8230; only tomorrow never comes, and the circumstances never quite fit. We move on to a different goal, and the pattern continues.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Break The Cycle!</span></p>
<p>If you keep doing the same things you will get the same results. To achieve something different we need to do something different, and this often involves getting out of our comfort zones and putting our pride on the line.</p>
<p>When you take the first steps in any pursuit – whether it is going for a job interview, volunteering to make a presentation often failure is inevitable. What really matters is how you perceive it – some people embrace failure – see it as a learning process and something they can learn from.</p>
<p>You need to frame it like this within your mind – to accept failure as inevitable and to actually embrace it. Failure is the first step on the path to success, and it is very rare that anyone who achieves massive success in any pursuit has had a clear path there, free from failure.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">People Who Are Successful Always Failed At First!</span></p>
<p>On the way to success people who are industry leaders, inventors, entrepreneurs, they will have experienced failure on a massive scale. They will have encountered many obstacles and overcome them.</p>
<p>They don&#8217;t worry about failure, in-fact they see it as a signpost to success. If they are failing then they are making progress – they learn how to do something successfully, by naturally learning all the different ways not to do it first.</p>
<p>This can be seen in all areas of life:</p>
<p>•	In the entrepreneur who makes a loss in his first year of business but goes on to sell his business after 5 years for several million dollars.</p>
<p>•	In the person who tries to learn the skill of public speaking – they go through many sessions and hours of sweating, shaking, and stuttering through their performances before it starts to come naturally to them.</p>
<p>•	In the person who finally loses the weight they have carried around for years. They spend years trying different diets, learning what works for them and what doesn&#8217;t and through persistence and trying again and again they find something that works really well for them.</p>
<p>•	In the dancer who wants to dance on Broadway – they go to 100s of auditions, and in the end they get just one chance. The 99 other parts they went for are meaningless once they achieve their dream – it is all just part of the process.</p>
<p>There is also the analogy of the “failure rocket”: A rocket flying to the moon “fails” every few seconds – it is constantly just a millimetre off course, over the whole course of the journey this would mean it would miss the moon completely. However, the scientists constantly adjust the trajectory and put the rocket back on course. Eventually the rocket reaches the moon safely and the whole world sees this as a massive success.</p>
<p>You have to think the same way – to see your “failures” as feedback, not only as inevitable episodes on the path to success, but as beneficial lessons which you need to learn from in order to be successful.</p>
<p>Once you do this you lose the fear of failure and start taking positive steps towards your goals. Once you do this process once and achieve success at the end then it will become second nature to you – you will live your life by this rule and measure your success by the failure you have to go through.</p>
<p>Remember, if it was easy, and there was no failure required then everyone would be doing it and therefore the reward wouldn&#8217;t be that great <img src='http://evolutionezine.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>There is so much talk about finding your purpose. The general idea is that you will feel truly fulfilled when you find your purpose. Unfortunately, finding your purpose is often obscured by a general misunderstanding of what purpose is.</p>
<p>Without an accurate understanding of what purpose is you can go on a wild goose chase – trying thing after thing after thing trying to find what it is you are “supposed” to do. Let’s get clear on something – Purpose is a package that consists of two parts:</p>
<p>1. what</p>
<p>2. how</p>
<p>When we talk about purpose it is very common to mistake the what and the how. The what of purpose, the meat of purpose, is the same for every single human being on this planet. Your purpose, my purpose, your neighbor’s purpose, everyone’s what, is to love. That’s it. Period.</p>
<p>Now that you know what your purpose is,  the juicy question is:</p>
<p><em>How can I love in the least obstructed, most beautiful, fulfilling way possible?</em></p>
<p>What is so wonderful about getting clear about the difference between the what and the how is that you can do the what RIGHT NOW! You don’t have to wait to discover the ultimate how. You can fulfill your purpose by being love more and more and more each day. Just love.</p>
<p>What is so interesting, and beautiful, about this is that simply by doing the what the how begins to reveal itself. All you have to do is pay attention to flow.</p>
<p>Think of flow as a great big “yes” from the cosmos.</p>
<p>When you love, you will begin to experience more flow. Flow makes things magical. You’ll notice things like:</p>
<p>* weird synchronicities</p>
<p>* things getting easy</p>
<p>* being more creative</p>
<p>* increases in your energy</p>
<p>* having answers just pop right into your head</p>
<p>What you want to do is to begin to pay attention to the ways you are loving when these things happen. For example – I notice that when I give away my work to someone, like a person who really, really needs a session but simply cannot afford it and is in really bad shape, just getting their butt kicked by life – well, sometimes it is put in my heart to help someone and not charge them so I honor that. The person then feels really grateful and will start to go into an indebted mentality. And what I say to them is: “Don’t worry about. By you receiving the session I get to get some new clients so I actually feel really grateful to you for letting me do this because I am about to get styled-out by the Cosmos.” Then, inevitably, I will get at least 1 new client and more often it’s a 3:1 ratio. This is flow.</p>
<p>Now there are things that I do, that I “give away”, where I do not then get styled-out by the Cosmos – I just feel drained or unappreciated or silly. This is not-flow.</p>
<p>Flow is like a trail of bread crumbs you simply follow and it will lead you to how you should be fulfilling your what.  (Again, your what is your purpose to love.) Following flow is also really beautiful because it filters things for us. What I mean is that most of us feel simply overwhelmed by all the things we could be doingand we get confused by this: “Should I pursue a degree in ________ or should I just start a non-profit or should I make art or should I climb the ladder at work or should I write a book?” You get the idea.</p>
<p>By following flow, the way we should be loving that is most fulfilling to us will reveal itself so there is nothing to worry about or figure out. It’s really incredible. And quite the relief.</p>
<p>Our deepest talents and gifts and fulfillment all come to light, they all surface, by loving and then following the flow. What I find so interesting is that this dynamic – this dance between what, flow, and how – is so perfect and so brilliant. You see, when you love and you follow flow you step onto a path that grows you into the person you were born to be.</p>
<p>For each step you take in the direction that flow leads your mind is expanded a bit and your capacity to imagine and desire more and more wonderful things is grown. Too, your confidence will increase and your fearfulness will lose its grip on you. This means you will begin to love more and more boldly. You will become less and less obstructed by limitation – yours and others’.</p>
<p>All the processing in the world cannot touch the transformative power of living love, following flow, and discovering the how that is revealed in this approach. I would also like to say that personal fulfillment does not and cannot ultimately happen in isolation. We are connected and, as such, the things we do are only truly and deeply rewarding when they reflect the truth of connection. In other words, it ain’t just about you. Because you is about your totality, your wholeness. And your wholeness is realized only when you see, experience, and act as a member of a much larger whole. It is the difference in perspective equivalent to how a teenager sees things and how an adult sees things.</p>
<p>So this is pretty good news, isn’t it? You get to start living your purpose and feeling increasingly more fulfilled and you don’t have to even have the slightest idea of how you should be doing it.</p>
<p>In other words – you can be a waste disposal expert, a secretary, a CEO, a struggling artist, unemployed, or totally lost and you can still live your purpose.  And you can find your how just by following the trail of breadcrumbs – you don’t have to know anything more than that and that path will lead you to the person you truly are meant to be.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>Our self beliefs – beliefs about who we are, and more importantly about what we are capable of determine our whole reality; our successes and failures in all areas of of our lives.</p>
<p>This timeless quote from Henry Ford sums this up very well:<br />
<em>“Whether you think you can or you think you can&#8217;t, you&#8217;re probably right”</em></p>
<p>For example it is easy to see that 2 people going into a job interview (with both candidates having the same technical skills) the candidate with more self belief; for example a strong belief that they deserve to get the job and that they can do the job to a very high standard will give them the advantage over the other candidate.</p>
<p>This can be applied into virtually all scenarios in life – self belief is often the spark which becomes the difference between:</p>
<p>•	<strong>Pushing Through Obstacles or Failure:</strong> Whereas regular businessmen encounter a problem and give up real entrepreneurs believe in their vision and that their business will succeed – a problem is never a dead end, and often they will get more and more driven by their setbacks.</p>
<p>•	<strong>Weight Loss or Staying Overweight:</strong> People who actually succeed in losing weight after being overweight for a long time experience something “snapping” in their mind; they say “enough is enough” and really start to believe that they can lose weight, and that “this time” will be different – and it is.</p>
<p>•	<strong>Being Excellent or Average:</strong> The difference between the record breaking marathon runner and the one in 3rd place is a matter of minutes – maybe even seconds&#8230; but the real difference is in their mindset; the record breaker has a burning desire and drive to achieve excellence, which is fuelled by a solid belief in his abilities, and that he really can be the best.</p>
<p>•	<strong>&#8230;perhaps even Life or Death</strong>:  a solid belief that you can overcome an illness, that you will survive a stormy night on a mountain top, that you will recover to full, abundant health.. this might be enough to keep you going and make all the difference.</p>
<p><strong>Yet Still We Lie To Ourselves..</strong></p>
<p>It is easy to see that having a solid internal set of positive self beliefs can make all the difference in almost any situation, yet still we think up excuses as to why we failed – we shift the blame away from ourselves and attribute it to some external force or event.</p>
<p>Using the above examples again; perhaps the businessman blames the economy for everything, perhaps the marathon runner who finished 3rd blames his new running shoes, perhaps the dieter blames the one off office buffet which broke their diet.</p>
<p>For every one of these instance there will be people who give up and fail, and others who barely see the obstacle, who resist against it, or who encounter it all the same, yet get fired up and even more driven from it – driven to do better next time, to excel despite it, or to not let themselves get into the same situation again. This all comes from a core level of self belief in themselves and that they are capable of great things.</p>
<p>From this core level of self belief everything else grows – including motivation, drive, confidence, assertiveness, and many more qualities – all of which are vital for success in any pursuit.</p>
<p>Self belief isn&#8217;t just something we are either born with, or develop at a very young age – it is something which can be altered at any stage of your life, and the primary way to get started doing this is to..</p>
<p><strong>Take Responsibility!</strong></p>
<p>There are always external events which interfere with our plans, but instead of getting too tied down in the physical circumstances and external events we need to take responsibility!</p>
<p>If instead of blaming something or someone else we step up and take responsibility ourselves then we look inside of ourselves and look to see how we can turn this setback around and find a way to success.</p>
<p>This is the only way to build a solid foundation of self belief – once we really take responsibility and look within ourselves to see what we could do differently, to see how we could improve next time then we start to grow – the seeds of self belief are planted and as we overcome obstacles these seeds grow and we really start to belief in ourselves and our skills</p>
<p>If we can take responsibility and build this solid foundation then the problems we encounter will no longer stop us, they will only fuel us for greater levels of success and motivate us even more.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<!-- google_ad_section_start --><p>Imagine that within you was a genie, a veritable creation machine capable of bringing you anything you desired-good and bad.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s imagine that you were unaware of this genie within or had heard about it but disbelieved. Perhaps you&#8217;d tried to believe and discovered that it was bogus-the whole thing about the genie within was just so much superstitious mumbo jumbo.</p>
<p>We&#8217;re all familiar with such phrases as &#8220;the power of the mind,&#8221; &#8220;mind over matter,&#8221; and &#8220;the mind-body connection.&#8221; We&#8217;ve heard of spontaneous healings and achieving or creating the life of our dreams. Most of us have even experienced some of this, even if it appears to be in very limited ways.</p>
<p>Almost everyone today has at least heard of the book and movie The Secret. They were marketed in an absolutely magnificent manner, and although they contain no real secrets, they nevertheless retold in new ways the inner mystical teachings of all ages. The Secret informed readers and viewers that one&#8217;s mind was a genie of sorts, for whatever it held in sufficient detail it would attract or create, and these two words were actually interchangeable in this context.</p>
<p>Maybe you watched The Oprah Winfrey Show, Larry King Live, or some other program and heard of the magnificent wealth and abundance that people had attracted using The Secret. Perhaps you grabbed a book, CD, or DVD all about the Law of Attraction and pored through it to glean the exact hows, whys, and wherefores.</p>
<p>Now armed with the secret knowledge and the testimony of so many, you created a vision board and printed out affirmations that you pasted everywhere so you&#8217;d constantly see them. You began visualizing all the things you wanted to attract and even started down the road of daily meditation.</p>
<p>You got on the Internet and looked up such terms as New Age and metaphysical. You subscribed to numerous mailing lists, tuned in to New Age Internet radio shows, and began to buy self-help books.</p>
<p>Alas, nothing wonderful happened.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, that&#8217;s the experience of most people who tuned in to the idea of the genie within. Some, however, found a different result. They manifested their home, a special relationship, or the like. Not many achieved this, mind you, but some. Why?</p>
<p>The mind is that genie, and it&#8217;s the doorway to the manifestation process, although its role is often misunderstood. It&#8217;s an entry point, a doorway, not the manifestation tool per se. The mind provides the pictures, not the feeling. It organizes our activity to build a vision board, post the affirmations, and so forth. It invests some learned belief (expectation) in the process. Actually, the mind&#8217;s highest role is inhibition.</p>
<p>Let me say that again: The mind&#8217;s highest role is inhibition!</p>
<p><strong>The Human Mind</strong></p>
<p>Like it or not, we&#8217;re all the product of millions of years of survival evolution. Wired in every one of us, no matter what our calling-including the highest evolved of spiritual beings now walking the earth-are primitive mechanisms that respond to primitive and sometimes rather gross stimuli.</p>
<p>Often, stimuli that we consciously claim as reprehensible are nevertheless processed subconsciously in ways that drive us toward seeking more of the same. Those mechanisms respond to fight and flight, taboo images, socially fearful rejections, and similar stimuli in a mechanical way-thus, the term mechanism.</p>
<p>The human brain is a marvel of evolution, and one of its most splendid developments as far as human consciousness is concerned is the cerebral cortex. One of my early teachers, Professor Carl LaPrecht, used to say,</p>
<p><em>&#8220;Whenever you find something in nature in great abundance, pay attention. It is critical to the system.&#8221; </em></p>
<p>The cortex or gray matter is by far the largest part of the brain. And it&#8217;s within the cortex that inhibitory power resides. The cortex is the brake.</p>
<p>Cortical power inhibits impulses that aren&#8217;t in our best interest or the result of our best intentions. The cortex shuts off the television when the content is violent, suggestive of disease and illness, or otherwise contains matter that&#8217;s purely garbage.</p>
<p>Our minds are like large trash containers: we can put anything into them. And like Dumpsters, they&#8217;re difficult to clean out. Dumpsters don&#8217;t tip over easily, and to clean one requires climbing inside, perhaps with a garden hose, a bucket of hot water, cleaning products, brushes, and so forth. What a tedious and nasty job.<br />
All of us have minds, of course, and evidence suggests that when we come into the world our minds aren&#8217;t blank slates, despite the tabula-rasa argument by the German philosopher Immanuel Kant.</p>
<p>No, it appears that certain predispositions and even some types of knowledge (cell memory and more) are already written in our minds when we make our first inhalation. Still, the content of our mind that&#8217;s acquired following birth is the beginning of what we shall eventually hold as both our identity and our knowledge/beliefs.</p>
<p><strong>The Law of Attraction</strong></p>
<p>You may have heard of the three components of the Law of Attraction-<em>ask, believe, and receive</em>. This sounds really easy until you question the degree of your belief, and that&#8217;s where most people fail. I actually divide belief into three components that must be activated in the proper sequence to manifest using the inner genie. These components are:</p>
<p>1.	The emotional input that&#8217;s passionate and convinced</p>
<p>2.	The confidence/mental element that can simply and truly visualize something and then let it go, knowing it will happen</p>
<p>3.	The spiritual sincerity that realizes at the deepest level of our beings that we&#8217;re a gift from the Creator. Knowing that, we release our vision, for we believe this or something better, according to the highest good of all concerned.</p>
<p>Anything that would distract from thinking, feeling, and knowing these three components will, in direct proportion, sabotage our efforts at manifesting our desires.</p>
<p>Given this understanding, it becomes easier to see why some people first manifest their desires, only to lose their treasures and find themselves worse off than they were before, some fail to manifest at all, and others seem to manifest the opposite of what they&#8217;re seeking.</p>
<p>With this under your belt, you might ask, as I did: <em>Why do most people seem handicapped by the inability to use the genie within and create the reality they deserve?</em></p>
<p>The Dumpster analogy is the first clue to answering this question. The garbage some hold in their minds would be frightening if it were visible to the public eye. As Strongheart, the German shepherd hero of the movies, put it in his letters to Boone, &#8220;What a dreadful sight to see people&#8217;s faces as incomplete as their minds.&#8221;</p>
<p>I would paraphrase: &#8220;What a horrible sight to see people&#8217;s faces as grotesque as the worst in their minds.&#8221;</p>
<p>I&#8217;d like to imagine a world full of joy, peace, balance, and harmony. That&#8217;s truly difficult to do when nature seems so callous and carnivorous. As I think about this, I realize that I&#8217;m anthropomorphizing nature, so I turn my thoughts to humans, where I find such horrible acts that a lion killing a lamb is innocent in comparison.</p>
<p>How do we truly find peace, balance, and harmony?</p>
<p>How do we gain spiritual sincerity and merge this with the right balance of mental and emotional stuff to manifest a world full of peace, balance, and harmony?</p>
<p>For some, manifestation is about things such as cars, swimming pools, houses, riches, sexy this and that, and the gratification of other sensual desires. For the spiritually sincere, manifestation is first about peace, balance, and harmony and then about health and individual happiness.</p>
<p>These are complex issues that labels alone don&#8217;t cover, so we can let the subject rest with this: each individual has a purpose for being here; and when individuals seek to manifest according to their purpose, they&#8217;re enlightening themselves and the world around them.</p>
<p>Back to the main point: the mind is both ignition and brake. First thing in the morning, I open my eyes and begin talking to myself. My thoughts may recognize a dream or immediately turn to the new day&#8217;s itinerary.</p>
<p>The mind goes immediately to delivering the inner world of thoughts, beliefs, ambitions, goals, and so forth. That constant stream of consciousness-self-talk-informs us of our mood, attitudes, likes, dislikes, and so much more. It&#8217;s this stream of consciousness that reflects the contents of our &#8220;Dumpster.&#8221;</p>
<p>We started this chapter by imagining a genie within. I believe that this inner genie actually exists, but if you don&#8217;t, that&#8217;s okay. What I intend to show you is that the genie has been creating all along, even if you think that it&#8217;s only some concocted get-rich scheme.</p>
<p>In fact, the worse your life might seem, the higher the probability that the genie is working hard at fulfilling your every fear (emotion), thought (expectation), and spiritual insight (&#8220;Life sucks, and then you die&#8221;). It&#8217;s in precisely this way that your hopes and ambitions are slain. Thus, your mind has been turned into the slayer.</p>
