I am Soli´ (”sun within”) and I love to create!

During a large part of my life, I was a very efficient ”suit”, working hard and long hours in the international media arena, until Life crushed this path and I had to turn inwards. The journey of finding out who I really was began and became more important than anything else. In this process, I took up painting again (I painted alot when I was younger), and I could just not stop – it was like a faucet having been turned on and there was no off switch!   I painted day and night. Today, I live in my native Stockholm and paint almost every day and hold courses to facilitate for people to find their own creativity by painting.

A painting starts (I don’t start it) when I have a feeling of something uplifting or loving that I want to express. I love nature immensely, and usually the source of my art is a plant or an element of nature. For ex., I can have a picture in my head of a rose that I want to paint, but what comes out on the canvas is always something different – the particular energy of the rose, in abstract form. It’s so clear to me that it’s not my person who is the creative one, it’s my Soul. Always. Beacuse it’s impossible for me to paint when I’m in a bad mood, believe me, I’ve tried! The more child like and non-predetermined I am about the outcome, the stronger the energy in the painting. It’s really about letting go totally and having alot of fun in the process!

My paintings contain energies that interact with people. It can be energies of love, healing, support, cleansing etc., it’s always something beneficial and uplifting. And it’s so fun watching people when I have gallery openings – I can see what each person needs depending on which painting he/she is attracted to. I also do individual Soul paintings where I tune into a person’s Higher Self, and that person will have the energy of their Soul before them to aid and support them in life.

Healing Water (acrylic on canvas 21 x 18″)

This is not an ordinary flower! It is water – a very special kind of water, called Grander water. It is a grounding and healing water from springs in the Austrian Alps. I used this water when painting its energy and it turned into a flower…a flower of healing water.

Cosmic Water & Fire (Oil on canvas 24 x 20″)

Energetically, this is one of my strongest pieces. The energy of the cosmic Water and the cosmic Fire is here to help us burn away our blockages and purify our nature. The Fire and Water merge and thus create a new sphere of freedom from which more love can grow. You don’t want this painting unless you are ready to let go of crap!

Ancient Egypt (Oil on canvas 20 x 24″)

Sometimes a memory from previous lifetimes pops up. This painting represents a glorious time in ancient Egypt, a time when we worshipped and respected nature, and in particular, the water with all its marine life. Here is a holy fish together with a now extinct shell and amoeba. All life of the Mother was sacred to us, and this painting might help you remember this time long gone.

Yin Yang melting into one (Oil on canvas 20 x 24″)

The ancient symbols of light spread their light to us as the masculine and feminine melt into One in the merging fire of the Divine. A very balancing painting.

3 Playing dolphins (Oil on Canvas 24 x 29″)

I wanted to paint joy. This painting just ”happened” when I looked for joy. Not until it was finished, I saw what it was – the energy of three playing dolphins. How do you depict joy better than going into the energies of playing dolphins! It’s a very fun painting to have when energy-sensitive friends come to visit – they start to jump and jolt just like dolphins!

New Earth (Oil on canvas 24 x 20″)

The energy in this painting welcomes the birth of the New Earth. An Earth without negativity, an ascended Earth. The welcoming energies come both from the painting itself and the symbol in the center. Supports change.

Hepatica (Oil on canvas 18 x 21″)

Yet another flower. In March/April in Sweden, the Hepatica is one of the first gorgeous signs of spring. Hepatica is a small, very delicate blue flower with a very gentle, sweet and innocent energy. This abstract depiction of the Hepatica emits this beautiful childllike energy.

Love of the Rose (Acrylic on canvas 21 x 18″)

Nature is very important to me, and often I feel a strong urge to paint a certain flower, plant or element. This painting came about with great ease and speed when I whished to paint a rose just the way a rose look like. However, what I picture in my mind is never important, the feeling is. So this is the energy, as an abstraction, of the pure love of the Rose.

Images do have great power.

Therefore, as an artist I strongly believe I have a great responsibility regarding what I create and put out in the world, therefore I choose to induce blissfulness through images…

It is my intention to elevate the vibrational tone of my surroundings and I infuse my paintings with that intention so that looking at them soothes the mind, lifts the spirit and feeds the soul with primal exhilaration.

I work in a tiny studio, in the small coastal town of Bolinas in California where I settled in 2000. I am a self taught painter, born in France in 1958, I always loved drawing and painting, and started exhibiting and selling my work in 1989.

I am currently looking for publishers because my dream is to see my images go all around the world…

I currently paint with watercolors on paper, and non-toxic oils on canvas. They are both exhilarating mediums in different ways, I really enjoy them as much.

From a young age I have had an interest and talent in drawing and painting which has gone through many transitions throughout every phase of my life. I have also always enjoyed photography, which I finally started taking seriously a few years ago. My process for both my painting and photography is very simple and straight-forward: strive for inspirational balance. Capture interesting places and moments in time and make them as beautiful as possible. Since we can’t always be in the places we love,we can at least take the image with us to remember and share with others.

My works reflect both my interpretation of the world around me and my presentation of this world to the community in which I live. There are great photographs waiting to be found everywhere, everyday… but they are almost never found easily. I am keenly interested in my current surroundings and choose my subjects by what delights and captures my imagination and represents my effort to bring beauty to the eye and harmony to the heart.

One of my cutest subjects, much to his feigned annoyance (it’s attention, of course he loves it!), is my rescue cat Louden. His story: he was abandoned out in the country north of Jacksonville, Florida about 4 years ago. A family member found him really beaten up, very little fur and full of ear mites which resulted in him losing most of his hearing. Not long after he adopted me… and he’s been a big fluffy 17 pound ball of white fur love ever since.

I grew up in eastern Iowa, received my Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Visual Arts from Cornell College (Mt. Vernon, Iowa) and currently travel and create between eastern Iowa and Loveland, Colorado. Over the last few years I have participated in many juried and multi-artist exhibits, in both Iowa and Colorado. I have many images proudly displayed in businesses and private homes, and I held my first solo exhibit. I have ongoing photography exhibits at A Place To Land Gallery & Cafe (Tipton, IA) and at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art Retail Store (Cedar Rapids, IA). Bear Lake

Taken at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. I was struck by how majestic the mountain in the background looked with the reflection in the stillness of the lake. This is a wonderful example of my desire to create a “memory-photograph.”

Blowin’ in the Wind

Taken on a very cold, windy winter day in Iowa… it pulls you in so you almost can feel the wind and the movement of the tree and snow ~ the bright blue sky shows between the branches (which especially pops when printed on metallic paper)

Mom’s Birds

Acrylic and watercolor painting I did as a gift for my Mom inspired by her love of birds ~ made sure our homestate of Iowa’s state bird (Goldfinch) was in the mix, too!  I thought it was complete but something felt like it was missing, so I painted the hummingbird on the mat.

Opened Up

This beautiful spring Tulip struck me as so amazingly rich in color and contrast I was instantly inspired, it reminded me of many paintings by artist Georgia O’Keefe.

Through the SeaGrapes

Peaceful and reflective… one of my favorite “secret” places in south Florida looking out at the Atlantic ~ I could sit there for hours and just listen to the waves and feel the warm salt air.

There’s just something wonderful about the history and feel of old structures and how they beautifully stand the test of time.

Art is my calling. It’s not just what I do, it’s who I am! Through 40 years of ups and downs art has been the one constant in my life. My professional Art career began in March 1991 shortly after the birth of my second son. My hope was to earn the part time paycheck I needed to be a stay at home mom. Eighteen years later, I’ve sold many drawings and paintings and thousands of prints all over the world! Thanks to all the wonderful people who have supported and purchased my art, my dream has become a reality. When I began 19 years ago, all sales happened on the road, there was no internet to connect me to the world. Although I still show in Galleries and sell prints in shops, most of my sales happen online. Welcome to the future! The best benefit to this outlet is that I get the privilege of dealing directly with the people who hang my art on their walls.

I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico less than an hour away from Santa Fe and only a couple hours from my hometown, Las Cruces. I live with my husband Aaron, youngest son Nate and two dogs in a great old house about half a mile from the Rio Grande River. You’ll find us walking along the Bosque (area of trees around the river) or hiking in the Sandia Mountains most sunny mornings. I spend my days (and some nights) working in my studio/gallery, Chroma Studios Gallery, opened in March 2008 by my husband and I. We also rent studio space and represent over 50 other artists in the gallery. I currently work mainly in oils, but I have worked with a variety of mediums. I like to paint a fairly large variety of subject matter but mainly paint abstract expressionist works and what I call my Spiral Abstract Series. I try to portray a feeling of love and peace in my work. My paintings are a personal meditation bringing me closer to my own inner peace and awakening consciousness. My goal is to share these meditations with others in hopes of bringing others closer to their own peace and awakening!

That sounds a bit like a B movie title, doesn’t it? But, no, it’s about my journey into understanding and working with this particular art form.

It all began as I became more curious about spirituality and the nature of the soul. I was raised in the Baptist church, and my questioning up to that point had been limited to finding which aspects of Christianity I resonated with and which didn’t fit. So, Joseph Campbell books in hand, I broadened my quest to encompass other theologies and, perhaps more importantly, basic spiritual concepts across cultures and time.

At the time, I had been working for some decades in Advertising and Marketing. It wasn’t quite the work I had dreamt of in my art school days or as a holder of a degree in Psychology, but it paid the bills. In my final job, I created some lovely starbursts for a project and became fascinated by that process ~ not only in the ethereal quality of the bursts, but with the precise, gentle, mathematical placement of the glowing soft lines creating the circle.

Mandala 1

When that job ended, I began playing with shapes and lines on my own. After creating a few pretty images, I showed them to some friends. One mentioned that they were mandalas. I vaguely remembered having heard or read the term before, but I had no idea exactly what a mandala was. Not wanting to appear wanting, I nodded in agreement. The moment I was able, I rushed to research what that was and what was meant by that word, mandala. The results fascinated me and dovetailed into my personal spiritual quest.

Mandala 7

Mandala is a Sanskrit word literally meaning “circle”. However, subtle nuances of the language, as I understand it, also open the definition to include everything from the basic circle to the vastness of all creation.

The circle form has been used as a common symbol since the beginning of humanity. Cave drawings show reference to circular forms thought to be reminiscent of the sun. The pyramids, whether in Egypt or the Americas, all have circular symbols resonant in their construction and decorative motifs. While researchers believe that Stonehenge was constructed around, and to understand, astronomical events, it is also a glorious mandala of stone. The Aztec and Mayan calendars are excellent examples of mandalas. It would appear the circle has always been a reference point for humans in understanding the vast nature of existence.

Mandala 4

Nature itself is replete with rich and glorious mandala shapes. Flowers, trees, bushes all appear as vivid reminders of our connection to all that is and to that circular form. The very shape of our planet, the moon, and the sun are circular, although irregular. It is my understanding that the natural world is created according to pure geometric formulas and principles such as the Golden Mean. The recognition of nature’s use of the circle may have inspired its use throughout time.

Gelatinous Light

Perhaps the most culturally familiar of today’s mandalas are the beautiful Hindu enameled mandalas found throughout India and beyond. Even the mehndi hand paintings echo mandala forms. Or maybe the glorious sand mandalas meticulously created by Buddhist monks over several days then destroyed as an example of life’s impermanence are more recognizable. Of course, Christian churches also use mandalas in their worship, although they’re not called mandalas. My own childhood church had the most beautiful stained glass rose window, simply glowing with color and design. Carl Jung, early psychiatrist and founder of analytical psychology, was fascinated by mandalas as a metaphor of our individual and societal psyches. He even became something of a mandala artist himself.

4 Elements

Mandalas in one form or another seem to be resonant throughout all societies. Because they are so present in our lives, I believe they deserve recognition and attention. They are used cross culturally as tools for prayer, meditation, and contemplation, as well as simple graphic forms of beauty. Once I recognized the near omnipresence of the mandala form, I found myself noticing all the circular forms surrounding my daily life.

Pyramid

As I researched and learned about mandalas, I developed a deeper connection to the work I had been creating. These mandalas were helping me understand myself, my place in the world, and the world itself. Creatively mandalas were now a constant presence.

My mandalas are rather unique. I use Adobe Illustrator to create brush strokes, then, in Adobe Photoshop, I isolate one stroke and place it in the center of the canvas. That stroke is copied and rotated repeatedly using simple geometry. The layer created by this repetition is copied and flipped horizontally, producing an initial mandala shape. I then attach the next stroke to one of the previous strokes and repeat the process continuously until a base frame is formed. With this foundational form, I’m free to place colors in the voids. Then the background and bursts are added, finalizing the image.

The result is a mandala with a certain resonance in the past, but holding a purely modern feeling. While there are many mandalas created daily around the world, thus far I’ve been unable to find anyone else using my particular technique. My conclusion is that my work is remarkably rare.

As with all artists, I use every aspect of my being as fodder for my work. Reiki is a form of energy healing which includes the use of long distance healing techniques. The practitioner uses focus and intention to connect with an individual to remotely affect healing and well-being.

I am a Reiki master teacher, but in my work, I’ve altered the application of this technique a bit. I have two specific types of mandalas in which I intentionally use my Reiki training. In the Spiritual Energy series of mandalas I focus on a spiritual principle with the intention of connecting to the resonance of that energy and representing it in the mandala form. The energy exchange becomes cyclical, with the resonance of the spiritual principle guiding every stroke, rotation, color choice, and movement in the mandala. The result is, hopefully, an image that invokes the feel and energy of that principle.

I also create Personal Soul mandalas, which are essentially portraits of an individual’s soul energy. The Spiritual Energy series is available to the public. The Personal Soul mandalas are commissioned works and owned by each of the individual clients. They are not available for purchase by the public.

Soul of Sarah Davis

As much as I love mandalas and creating them, they are by no means the only type of artwork I produce. Over time, I’ve developed a line of inspirational greeting cards. I’m also a fiber artist and have a number of sculptures I’m developing. I would love to learn how to create in stained glass. Wouldn’t my mandalas look beautiful as stained glass windows? Texture and shape have always piqued my creative interests. As you can see, that interest translates into many areas of expression.

Judy McMillan – Biography

I am a visual artist in Eastern Washington. My work is very connected to nature, honors and respects Gaia. I intend to bring viewers closer to mother earth and to their own deepest wisdom Self through my work. Each line I draw expresses my own search for awareness of that connection.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in printmaking in 1979 from Eastern Washington University. I am a graphic designer and artist with work in private collections around the world. I also have several pieces in schools around the state of Washington from the percent for the arts program purchases.

It was most gratifying when a local grade school was allowed to choose the work they wanted for their school and they selected a work of mine.

Each year our local Museum of Art and Culture has a fundraiser they call Works From the Heart. Regional artists donate an original work for auction and the proceeds are used to expand the museum’s permanent collection of regional works of art. Beautiful! I have donated for the last 23 years. Dreaming Love is one of the works I created as a donation and it is now in a private collection.

I am not currently represented by a gallery. I do have artwork with the Museum’s art rental and sales program in Spokane, Washington. My husband and I are exploring making my work available on the etsy.com site.

Judy McMillan – Tribute to Mother Earth

.Painting Lewisia-Clarkia was done to commemorate the explorers Lewis and Clark. These native wild flowers were named after them and are local to our region of eastern Washington and the channeled scablands. Images such as the lamp and book are symbolic, metaphors for deeper connections and imaginings.

Gentle Glory in the West is the artwork that I did for the commemorative poster, marking the 2007 visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to San Francisco. A life list dream of mine was fulfilled when I was blessed with the opportunity to create this work and attend the two days of teachings. The imagery of Tibet has a resonance with me that I believe is connected to past lives spent in that rare place.

The giclee print, Integration and Wholeness, is made from an original watercolor I did as a barter for a set of crystal bowls attuned to the chakras that I use in my healing work. The woman I traded with is a practitioner of Integrated Kabbalistic Healing in Missoula, Mt. It was a delight to do the research on the paths and sephirot of the tree. This is an image-rich opportunity for journeying and personal healing exploration.

Color is very important to me, I love to mix rich hues and apply them to paper. Line is a magical connection to the higher Self and I am reflecting a profound respect for that which sustains us all, Mother Earth. A golden exploration, Ginger Cat, is also full of whimsy. Who hasn’t known a ginger kitty?

Leaf Mandala is an original watercolor. I did ’round drawings’ in the early ’70s, then began to render the local landscape close up mixed with imaginal icons. Recently I have been inspired to combine the two forms.

America, the land of opportunity, wow, and here I am ready to use my talent and skills to earn a living, embrace my adopted country and fulfill my dreams of sharing and healing, for myself and others through the integration of Art and Music.

It wasn’t consciously part of my plan to be in America, but I’d met a gorgeous American in Australia when he was on vacation. We corresponded for a time getting to know each other, and then I took the opportunity, when he sent me a plane ticket, to “come for a visit.” Well I came; I visited, got engaged, and then married….all within 2 and 1/2 months!!

I had taken a giant leap of faith in mid-life, and for the longest time I was a homesick mixture of happy, sad, lost and lonely. I missed the support of my family and friends, and the delightful ease of life ‘Down-Under’. I lost my independence because I couldn’t cope with driving on the wrong side of the road in such volumes of crazy fast paced traffic.

A quote I’d read came to mind ‘A depressing and difficult passage has prefaced every new page I have turned in my life,’ Charlotte Bronte, I found this to be true.

I was born in Invercargill, the southernmost city in the beautiful South Island of New Zealand. Later in life, I moved to Australia.

My Maori heritage and culture involves the extended family. It incorporates a community of caring and sharing for young and old alike. The wisdom of the elders leads and guides the community in tune with the God Spirit, Father, and the Land, Mother.

Music:

As the eldest girl in a family of six, Art and Music were normal aspects of my growing life,

I studied music and graduated in both Trinity and Royal Schools of Music London, in theory of music and Pianoforte.

As a vocal soloist I’ve been singing Jazz, Ballads and songs from the great Musicals, but I’ve also enjoyed working as a team with other musicians in duos, trios, larger bands and orchestra’s, performing in five star hotels and Restaurants around New Zealand, Australia and Sarasota Florida.

I’ve loved performing in Choral groups over the years with one especially memorable performance at Carnegie Hall, soon after I arrived in America.

Teaching had been a big part of my life in Australia and I loved giving individual lessons: ‘Singing for Fun, Healing and Therapy’.

Also while in Australia I recorded my first album ‘Sophisticated Lady’ with a full orchestral backing. The soundtrack can be heard on my website.

Metamorphosis in the Garden of Life

Art:

I trained in Art College in New Zealand, studying Lettering, Illustration and Design, and earned a living working as an artist for a local Newspaper, Advertising Agencies, and as a Display Manager for a chain of fashion stores.

It had taken over half a lifetime of study, exams, vocal performing, an artistic career, marriage and motherhood; now here I was in America, reality was setting in, and I was feeling overcome, depressed fearful and dependent on my husband!

Despite my doubt, my awesome husband believed in me and showed me unconditional love, support and encouragement. Before I could click the heels of my red shoes together 3 times and say “there’s no place like home” I realized hey….this WAS home! I told myself in my best Kiwi/Aussie accent to count my blessings, find my ‘Goddess Self’, live in the creative moment, and re-connect with those things I’d been passionate about.

So armed with some colored pencils, markers, and a borrowed wobbly card table I set up my studio in the bedroom and started creating Birthday and Anniversary cards etc for family and friends. That developed into a family Birthday calendar for Christmas Gifts. I also began to write and illustrate a book for my grandkids about adopting my beautiful black cat Miss Bronte from the Animal Shelter.

Before I knew it I had created a Bronte Alphabet, and a series of Greeting Cards and another book entitled The Rainbow’s Dream and Song. I’d called upon my God Source, my earlier training, my creative muse, and began to carve out a whole new career for myself and fulfill my destiny to integrate the healing energy of Art and Music.

Hawaiian Mandala: The Seven Principles of Huna

Artist Statement:

My Art chose me to give life to Mandalas, Mermaids, Angels, Goddesses and Cats. I was inspired along the way in my growing spiritual life by a closer connection and trust in God, and the love and inspiration I constantly found in nature, rainbows, animals and stained glass windows.

I’m focusing on licensing my art on products, publishing my children’s picture books, Calendars, and my variety of unique style greeting cards.

I encourage everyone to grow spiritually and heal, through finding something to be passionate about. Cease self doubt and judgment, and realize self acceptance and love through your inner artist and voice!

If you can speak, you can sing! Training the ‘ear’ to sing in ‘tune’ is simply about persistent repetition of a note, until the ‘same’ level of sound is duplicated.

Moonlight falls softly on the Wateree River, illuminating the quiet, leafy riverbanks and the slow, steady, winding current below the water’s surface.

The herons and hawks are resting, and this tranquil, humanless haven belies the fact that sleeping communities of homo sapiens abound on either side of this bridge linking two worlds.

Just a few centuries before, this community was the site of the first inland European settlement. Pivotal Revolutionary battles have been fought here, and Native American Indian mounds are silent sentinels to the ancient ways. Hunt and steeplechase trails follow the Green Man’s footsteps through the hallowed woodlands of Kershaw County.

The stars shifted in the Heavens in the early part of this year and brought their changing energy to my world. Trusting in Spirit and shaking off the dust from my former world, I gratefully accepted these unknown gifts. A new job and new home manifested within a month’s time, and the wheels of motion continued to usher in their benevolent changes. Even Mercury retrograde could not stop this progression.

In my new world, dreams become reality and thoughts manifest quickly. One minute I am seeing a new opportunity in my mind’s eye, and the next hour or day a person magically appears and the Divine Key is dropped at my doorstep.

The equine community is interwoven within this world, and flows easily among the poets, tinkers and traders. Horses have been a part of my life since childhood when I took my first ride on a marsh tacky in the tidelands of St. Helena Sound.

Like the river’s course, my life has changed and flowed over and around the hurdles that have come with the opportunities. I’ve come to look at illnesses and obstacles or delays from a new state of awareness. Asking myself, how did I get here and from whence came my thoughts? And asking my angels for help, and acknowledging and accepting their responses.

Gazing upon my new home for the first time, I paused and smiled as I read the inscription on the lintel above the front door: “These small and perishable bodies we now have were given us as ponies to schoolboys.” Once inside these doors, I fell to my knees in prayer and gratitude, for it was as if my dreams and prayers I had held for several years had been answered many times over.

Each day the spirit of this place blesses me as she reveals her treasures to me. Another inscription tucked away in part of the garden, a woodland creature sharing her joy with me, the fairy lights welcoming me home and appearing in my windows at night.

And like the spirit of this place, my new community continues to reveal itself to me as well. A casting call of characters fit for a best-selling novel. A master cabinetmaker who believes in the power of dreams. A landscaper with native American roots and spirituality. A civic leader who dreams of the Broadway footlights. The effervescent American Legion veterans who invited me to my first Change of Command ceremony at the local Army base. A miller who hosts a philosophy group discussing early American literature.

The landscape inspires me with its “Earth portraits” as I like to call them. Straddling the natural geological fall line of the East coast, the sun’s and moon’s comings and goings mark their time on the ridge that calls this part of the world home.

Just as my new home, born of a kindred artistic soul, encircles me within its sheltering stillness of pine and oak woods, replete with dancing deer and cooing doves, my angels are ever present and protective, offering solace and renewal. The garden blends softly into the forest’s edge and harbors the sun’s rising and setting over the wisteria and the blueberry bushes.

My first view of the nearby lake was on a Full Moon’s eve, and I watched as the large lunar Goddess slowly rose above the treetops and mirrored herself in the cool, shimmering water below.

Writers are often solitary creatures, and I find my creative, quiet moments sandwiched between the whirlwind of meeting new people and planning for our next event at the office, slowly increasing my involvement in my new community.

Each day is an opportunity to participate in the eternal dance of life and leave our own unique footprint. And so, I find myself taking life by the reins and following the trail of my heart. Just a short drive from my former life, and a world full of hope and dreams away.

I was born in Columbia, South Carolina, the Deep South, and have always enjoyed creating art. As a child, art came naturally to me through drawing, painting, writing poems and stories, needlework and dance. And living in a state blessed with an abundance of natural beauty instilled in me a love of nature and animals.

After graduating from college and spending almost twenty years working in the corporate arena, I needed a change. Somehow during that time I felt I had lost touch with that creative side of myself. So I sat down and wrote a list of things I enjoyed and what I’d really like to do. I’d always loved history, antiques and art, so I applied to Sotheby’s in London and was accepted.

Moving to London on my own and studying at Sotheby’s for a year, and then remaining another year to obtain a master’s degree in decorative/fine art and historic architecture from the University of Buckingham, helped me to remember my artistic roots. Living and traveling abroad reconnected me to that creative passion, which had long since become an ember.

I’ve always had a fascination with vintage cameras and films, so moving into photographic art and combining this medium with writing seems a natural progression of my career from the business world to the art world, in essence a full circle for me.

It is my profound belief that there are many mystical places on our wonderful planet that possess the power to heal, to reconnect to us our right balance physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Sometimes the seemingly ordinary, seen in detail or in a different light, can open us to the possibilities that surround us. We need only to open our hearts and minds, and our eyes will find them.

In my childhood, walking through the marshes of my home state and visiting the Blue Ridge Mountains at the ends of summers brought this serenity to me. My sincere hope is that these personal stories and artwork will help you find your own inner peace, and perhaps bring a remembrance of who you are.
